  • Join me for this interview with Dr Emad Bazzi, PhD in Islamic studies from the University of Sydney. Dr Bazzi takes us on a deep dive into the person of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979, and his key doctrine of Welayat al-Faqih (Guardianship of the Jurisprudent) - the doctrine that unlocked Shia political and military power in the modern world.
Essential viewing for the informed and sophisticated individual. Critically relevant given the current geopolitical reality.

Yes, this one and the articles linked in the comments section. The alternative is the Western hegemonic view - whatever appeals to your "free thinking" sensibilities.

There is just one hadith which supports the idea of velayat al-faghih and that hadith is weak. Xalas

It's a theory and doctrine of Islamic governance with various lines of reasoning and evidence to support it. The way you phrase the comment makes it appear that it's based on one hadith. It isn't.

@@AussieTwelver U could accept the theory but U should play fair and mention critics‌. And what's their argument against it? For example Mohsen kadivar in his Persian book حکومت ولایی(I believe there is an Arabic translation).

If you watch the interview criticism of the theory is covered in some detail.
