Unprecedented Defense Pact: Japan and the Philippines Unite Against Rising Chinese Threat

Japan and the Philippines have signed an unprecedented defence pact, highlighting growing concerns over china in the region as well as the increasing cooperation between countries feeling threatened by Beijing. This pact allows for the deployment of Japanese troops in the Philippines, and reciprocally for Philippine forces to be deployed in Japanese territory. The pact will better enable this growing alliance to conduct joint drills, transfer equipment and troops for training and generally enhance co-operation between the countries militaries.
