A K She did not give it milk though. She probably gave him an animal milk formula is my guess. If an animal is not thriving on a substitute animal milk formula then they may be lactose intolerant like this squirrel. It also happens in human babies and other animal babies. It is just pretty rare.
@dudedud Quite the contrary. Given that the differential diagnosis for an infant failing to thrive (human or otherwise) consists of quite a variety of conditions including malabsorption, chronic infection, allergies, immunodeficiency, GI issues, etc., the lady was indeed quite insightful to land on the correct diagnosis almost immediately on her first try and seemingly based on a hunch. Just because a baby is underweight and malnourished does not necessarily mean lactose intolerance is the most obvious underlying cause.

@Moon Heathen Most people do not understand that in the animal kingdom, no adult mammal drinks any milk. So if a squirrel is lactose intolerant, it's just natural. In the past, human babies were weaned from breast milk at the age of 3. Later, the human body is naturally intolerant of lactose because it doesn't need it anymore. Many people go on eating cow milk products because they like it, not because they need it. Some people get very sick, but they would never take cow milk for responsible. Because of his personality and little size. That’s why.
Or a rat. A big rat living in your basement, coming into your house at night urinating on your kitchen counter and food.
@@tanishabutler1044 what other animal is called a mouse..?
I'm like Dug the dog when the Dodo does a "Squirrel!" video.
Hes so cute, glad hes safe and good!
The little thing just needed some help. Thank you for stepping in and giving this lil fella a chance. 👍. You are an Angel 😇
Rocky is the best!!! 💖💖💖. Thank you for caring him 🌷🙏👩
This squirrel was so cute, It was so tiny and weak at first but after this wonderful woman took care of him he got better. I really appreciate people like this, they really help ecosystems and individuals.
I CAN'T GET OVER HOW EXTREMELY ADORABLE HE IS !!! HE IS ONE OF THE CUTEST BABIES I'VE EVER SEEN !!! I WANT HIM!!!😍😍😍
@Ivan meybol saldaña gonzalez h Jr
The world needs more people like you....what a sweetheart❤️
One of the cutest animals I've ever seen. So adorable!
may GOD bless you for the blessing you have given to that little soul.
Spoiler: there's no 'god'.
Those 2 ppl who disliked this...
Nevermind...
They're beyond understanding...
Possibly they understand that releasing the squirrel without sterilizing him resulting in his genes being passed on potentially which results in more little squirrels with lactose intolerance and probably dying without anybody helping them. It is cruel and awful to release this squirel into the gene pool, he should not be released into the wild unless he is sterilized first
74 now, some people just like to be miserable... 😝
mlapointej she might have sterilized him though
Aww, he is so adorable. Thank you so much for caring for him and helping him to survive. I love animals so much.
0:32 looks like proud Simba!
Bruhhhhhh
It does LOL
Pls bow down to lactose intolerant simba looking red squirrel
Those tiny droppings are cute AF 😂😍❤️❤️❤️❤️
I just smiled throughout...what a treat to see, to know how you found him to see how tender and fragile he was, but so interested in life - likely thanks to you! Thank you for sharing this. I'd like to think that you'll get a visit from him!

How sweet and blessing what you ha e done for this little creature💕
The first days back in the wild are so difficult, I always get very emotional, when they show they are okay and still know me.
"His heart is in the forest."
Thank you for making the voice for so many animals living in zoo and cage.
And even for many humanbeings who are living in conceret buildings and super big cities.
*BLESS YOU!*
Such a wonderful story! I've had squirrel pets they are absolutely cute!
Great work what you did!
Omg his little fingers!!!😍
Thank you for being there for our GREAT creatures great and small. God bless you 🙏🏼
So beautiful and nimble.
A privilege to rescue it and see it bloom.
Hope it doesn't get run over, or eaten by a predator.
We need more people like this in the world !!!
I'm lactose intolerant. I'm glad a human with a brain found him
What's the connection between lactose intolerant and human with brain?
It was pretty obvious he is lactose intolerant. No PhD needed to see that.
@@styles9956 well she was giving him cow milk, humans are the only ones to drink the species of another animal
theecologist10 nah sometimes pigs drink cows milk
@@wolfey_gaming5080 really?on their own or fed by humans though?
When I was younger I rescued a baby squirrel that fell out of his nest. His name was Rocky too. He lived a full life in our neighborhood

I absolutely love the amazing work and dedication you did for Rocky! And I am so so happy because he is a wild being that you were able to allow him to slowly get used to his beautiful outside world and live free! I will bet you anything that Rocky will come to visit you, I'll bet you ❤️

A lactose intolerant squirrel 😂😂😂 Aww so cute! Glad she figured out what was wrong!
You are an angel 😇❤️ Thank you for saving him. He's so wonderful 😍🥰❤️
This is so beautiful, thank you for posting it and being such an amazing person.
I am so glad his rescue mom discovered that Rocky was lactose intolerant and saved him and was so kind to release him back into the trees but I have a strong feeling that he will make regular visits to his foster Mom and maybe introduce her to his family, Hi Mom these are my kids and my girlfriend.
All wildlife is lactose intolerant, including cats. No baby formular o cows milk for them. Even goats are lactose intolerant, which is why their milk is naturally lactose free.
@@peterstevenson1812 Um then why do cats like to drink milk?
Huh?? Who told you that lie or did you just make it up yourself?? Milk from pretty much every species of mammal on earth comtains lactose…
@@wolfman3295 no animal continue to drink milk after breast feeding period.Only humans do it and some pets mimiking their owners .Its unnatural.Period.
The 3 day old hairless baby squirrels I rescued were nearly bigger than he was at 4 weeks

Smart Lady Rescuer. Thank you so much.
Know this.......... you're a very special person. To care for such a tiny precious thing, to help him survive and grow into the squirrel he is.
You touched my heart.❤️

Poor poor little guy. Thanks a million for saving him.
Bob Ross the artist had a squirrel he raised and kept with him in his shirt pocket. He used to bring the squirrel with him to our house we he came to visit. Keep him. You are the lucky one! :)
So you knew Bob ross??????
Wait what, actually??
...sure
How do you know Bob Ross
if released he has more chance being killed before old age. @ such young age and handled by human he is too dependent. that squirrel is tamed so why release him to wild. death sentence i feel🤧😫🤬
I raised two baby squirrels several years ago. They brought our family much happiness and great memories. Rocky is a very lucky squirrel
Adorable and he was really lucky to meet you . Thank you for looking after him
Rocky is literally just Spider-Man
