After watching some of the confirmation hearings, listening to Trump talk about the importance of having qualified people is the very definition of ironic.
Two of my neighbors are retired FAA air traffic controllers. They are intelligent people of great integrity, quite impressive really. I am physically ill that Trump snuck back into the White House.
And their ratings sucked till Trump came along. It's good buisness for them. I never heard of the show until trumps first time in office. Good for them they got full employment for the next 4 years
@ Trump has helped ratings everywhere, it is the only thing he cares about - being centre of attention. Dude was born rich, bankrupt 6 times, started making money as a pretend businessman on apprentice, and made much more money as president (which he only ran for to pump up apprentice salary).
I agree with Chaz here about DEI however, I don't think it ultimately works in the long run. You can't replace apartheid with new apartheid. With Silverton South Africa overnight very unqualified people suddenly were working in hospitals etc. And it has caused a dramatic drop in standards. It's also true that people tend to hire people who look like them, which is not great.
@sforbesgocka of course, I just mean that ultimately I don't think we solve inequality with inequality. In South Africa, it was perhaps necessary to give advantage to black people who had not had access to education and privileges that white people under Apartheid had. But now 30 years later white people are told sorry we can't hire white people.
I think it’s half broken - if the camera is supposed to track sideways in complementary directions, it sort of makes sense - as long as the subjects stay in the same area of frame
Recordings of air traffic control and the radar tracks of the aircraft involved have been released and show that the air traffic control warned the helicopter pilot of the collision several times before impact. At the time the black hawk pilot had requested and was working on visual identification to avoid collision after being cleared to land at the airport. It was clear that the pilot miss identified the wrong jet and was not aware of the landing plane that they collided with
The question is how both aircraft's collision avoidance systems failed. In theory it should be impossible for two aircraft to collide like that in controlled air space.

FYI, all ATC positions - worldwide - are staffed according to the HIGHEST workload that may be encountered in the post, at that time of the day. However, in circumstances at any given time, where peak traffic is not scheduled, superfluous staff are sent home. Note that underemployed and bored controllers are always potentially dangerous. It is very likely that in quiet times (e.g. overnight) these positions are routinely combined under one controller. Indications are that this was the case here. ATC “understaffing” manifests as overtime, not fewer operators on the job. The suggestion that any American controller does not reach the level of aptitude required, is ridiculous. Initial ATC training is further designed to expose and eliminate candidates who fail to get “rated” for each new position on the ladder. The filtration process continues as each controller is further trained for higher posts.
Guys. Instead of stumbling around in the dark about Republicans, can you do some stories on the Democrats.? There is so much ammunition! Start with gold bar Bob. And Kamala would keep you busy for a few years🙂 You could make even make your show entertaining!
Look at the track record of near misses since DEI hiring. It’s increased dramatically. DEI is by its very nature discriminatory and reduces competency. Hire the best person for the job, regardless of race or gender. Simple!
Not at all. DEI does the opposite actually. It’s designed to make sure you hire on the basis of merit, not on the basis or racial or religious or other bias/prejudice. For example, research shows than people with non-western names on their resumes tend to not get hired even with the same or better resume. This shows that our unconscious biases stop us from hiring on actual merit, but rather make us hire based on prejudice or identities we are familiar with with vs. actual skill and talent.

Science and reason had been terribly inconvenient for the right wing. They've decided to abandon it altogether and been met with shockingly little resistance.
Stupidity is a mental block that prevents people from thinking critically..they give into the power of stupidity because they surrender their power the majority.
Well done John. Succinctly said.
4:50 I wonder how much longer Chas will keep making excuses for Trump? Things are going to absolute shit over there at the moment, and Trump needs to take the lion's share of the blame.
I enjoy watching JB stating the bleeding obvious with Chas desperately flailing around for a counter-opinion which I am not convinced that he believes. The T Shirt says it all.
If ATC are in fault the problem is more likely understaffed and management

It applaud Chas and John in their attempt to strike a balance as best they can. It’s a wickedly difficult path to walk, but an important path nonetheless….
The intro should have been:
Welcome to Planet America I'm John Barron.
And I'm the guy who violates ABC guidelines, Chas Licciardello.
Chaz is probably the best Trump analyst on earth right now
As an american, i'm terrified
The helicopter took visual control over its flight path from the tower. The pilot mistakenly identified the plane behind the one it crashed in to. The tower followed protocol. It was pilot error.

How much time and money are all these rodeo leftovers wasting??!! Jesus's Christmas. It's like the prerequisite to get into American politics is multiple concussions.
Trump needs to learn he’s there to serve the people not pit them against each other. He’s a wrecking ball too caught up in self and sticking it to who’s ever a conceived threat. As a leader he lies and then they broadcast it and lack of real reporters call him out.
He's there to maintain the system, make rich people richer and keep the Republicans in power. There is literally nothing else to it and anyone who tried to make it about service in the last 60 years has been thrown out

@ There's this thing called freedom, where you don't need to hate watch anything. There's plenty of echo chambers if you aren't interested in balance.
@@Backpfeifengesicht789 Just because you choose to live in an echo chamber it doesn't mean everyone else also should.
@ Trump has helped ratings everywhere, it is the only thing he cares about - being centre of attention. Dude was born rich, bankrupt 6 times, started making money as a pretend businessman on apprentice, and made much more money as president (which he only ran for to pump up apprentice salary).
Dr. Alex. One persons right over everyone elses. 😂 Its exactly what you are recommending🤪
Comparing DEI and apartheid is a bit of a reach no?
@sforbesgocka of course, I just mean that ultimately I don't think we solve inequality with inequality. In South Africa, it was perhaps necessary to give advantage to black people who had not had access to education and privileges that white people under Apartheid had. But now 30 years later white people are told sorry we can't hire white people.
Please stop the slow panning! I’ve watched this show for years and it’s so distracting 😭
Dr. Alex. It's a steep hill to climb that a Federal Prisoner might do something bad? Insane! They're angels.
Thanks Dr. Alex. The worlds population is now newly informed.

That wasn't a stutter, that was dementia.
From the audio communication, it does appear to be the helicopter that made the error.
Ok but a president isn't supposed to cast blame like a dumbass!?
You didn't play Kennedy's response to Warren where he absolutely destroyed her accusations, the timeline of events doesn't even match Kennedy's contact with Samoa, it was a total beat-up and as usual, they tried to reclaim their time when he started to disprove everything she said.
Elizabeth Warren is Putins ex-girlfriend. He dumped her for being too Socialist😅
@ you clearly haven’t been paying attention.
