Well said! And I, for one, accept your apology and, hopefully, you will accept mine: I get testy when people start "labelling" before really knowing what it is that they are labelling. To a newbie (and someone who probably hasn't listened to any other kind of oriental music), perhaps BABYMETAL gives the impression of anime and I guess I need to understand that. However, I voiced my concern about it in your reaction to "Karate" but it APPEARED my concern fell upon deaf ears when you even asked the question in your thumbnail "Is This In An Anime?" for your "Megitsune" reaction. I read your explanation about "mass recording" and I think it odd that you would release recording B before recording A but, hey, you do as you do, and please accept my apology for being so vitriolic. Next time I'll just say "BABYMETAL isn't anime" and leave it at that.
"I don't want to say it cuz I'm gonna get yelled at again by that one guy" I guess I acquired some notoriety! 😁 I guess it just goes to show that most people will hear what they want to hear, see what they want to see, and believe what they want to believe despite any and all information to the contrary. But for a gentleman who has read all the comments, you would be aware that Su-metal, Moametal, and Yuimetal became BABYMETAL when they were 12, 11, and 11 respectively so they are 14, 13, and 13 in this MV.
And now for a touch of irony: someone here on UA-cam did, in fact, make an anime short for the song "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" (I'm quite sure BABYMETAL has no direct affiliation). I recommend that you watch the version I included in the top twenty list I provided with your "Gimme Chocolate!!" reaction (I get the impression that that list was overlooked perhaps?) before checking out this anime: ua-cam.com/video/tjDiH5XYrv4/v-deo.html
I warn you: this anime of "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" is pretty graphic so it would behoove you to keep that in mind.
Also, I find it most curious that you should react to the IDZ music video when over half a dozen people (including myself) mentioned in the comments of your previous BABYMETAL reaction videos that the Sonisphere 2014 version was the way to go. Sadly, this is not among their best music videos - but I said something to that effect before as well. No matter; what's important is that you like what you're seeing, you like what you're hearing. But I have to agree with several of your other commenters - you do tend to pause far too much: the music video is six minutes ten seconds long but you reaction video is twice that. Just sayin'.
Finally, I liked and subscribed: not so much for your selection (good song, not so good version) or your reaction, but because you have my respect. And now you have a couple of more pennies from UA-cam. 😉
    Keep rockin' the BABYMETAL!!!
    KITSUNE UP!!! 🤘🦊🤘

I filmed my reaction for Headbangerrr today but now I fear I did the wrong one ☹️ I took you guys’ advice and reacted to the live version versus a music video but I did the moametal version which was amazing. @@DreamersDreamBig Perhaps keep a notebook? List both suggestions and who did the suggesting? I know I enjoy hearing a shout-out once in a while and I have little doubt others do, too! 😁 In regards to the 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" version: there's no law that says you can't react to other versions. In fact, doing a comparison might be interesting. 🤘🦊🤘

Ijime, Dame, Zettai (or just IDZ for short) means "No more Bullying Forever", and it is an antibullying song, the live version at Sonisphere Festival 2014 is the one you should looking for.
Don't worry about the comments complaining about you didn't read comments, fans sometimes gets real passionate, but if any i know for fact you didn't read mine at your Gimme Chocolate reaction when i said they're not related, although they (Yui and Moa, the scream and dance members ) were chosen by KobaMetal for the twins-like appearance. It's all good, I'm not complaining, just saying.
Regardless what you heard they're not related to any anime as BabyMetal, they got an art book called "Apocrypha: The Legend of BabyMetal" and certain other things related to the BM lore but that's all, the closest thing one of them were involved with anime was the lead singer Suzuka Nakamoto prior to this when she was part of the Jpop group called Karen Girl's performing songs for the anime "Zettai Karen Children" around 2008/2009, and later was disbanded after finishing the show.
Keep enjoying BM songs and see you next time 🦊🤘🔥

Great reaction. The people complaining that you don't read their comments should know better - 'Ijime, Dame, Zettai' means Bullying, No More, For Ever ... it is a very important message that BABYMETAL fans should take to heart.
The fans are very passionate, as you can tell, and they just want you to have the best experience ... and even though the official videos are all very good, live BABYMETAL is the best experience.
Their names are Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal), Yui Mizuno (Yuimetal) and Moa Kikuchi (Moametal) - this was recorded in 2012 I think - Su was 14, Yui and Moa are 18 months younger so they were 12 or 13 (and had the voices of very small Japanese girls of that age) ... they are just very good friends, but they are as close as sisters even though they are not blood relatives.
You are right - they would make the best anime ... but they haven't done so.
When they started in 2010 Metal and Rock music in Japan was being forced underground, JPop and Idol music was dominating everywhere getting most of the TV and radio airtime.
The hairy guy in the video represented the spirit of Metal and he was being bullied (having his hair cut and guitar smashed) by the guys wearing the bling representing the popular music scene.
He saw the message painted on the rocks "stand up metal", so he fought back and was finally revealed as one of the Babybones guitarists at the end of the video.
Yui and Moa were playing their guitars every bit as much as the guys in the skeleton suits were playing theirs.🎸🎸😉🤫

As stated already, the girls are not related. They were brought together by Producer Kei Kobayashi (Kobametal).
    Their names are:
    Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-metal)
    - Lead singer, born in 1997
Yui Mizuno (Yuimetal) - Scream and Dance, born in 1999
Moa Kikuchi (Moametal) - Scream and Dance, also born in 1999 about 2 weeks after Yui.
The imagery in this video is commentary on how at the time the Japanese music industry was unwilling to support any act that was not Pop or Rap, but the song itself is a anti-bullying song.
The girls did not play the guitars, they were just handed them and told to have fun for the shoot. That said Moa CAN play guitar, but has admitted she does not practice as much as she probably should.
The hand sign they make is the kitsune or fox sign that is used at Babymetal shows instead of the traditional devil's horns (this is explicitely stated in the song "Iine!".
    Until next time....Kitsune Da O! 🤘🦊🤘

Nice reaction. They're not related in any way. However, after performing together for so long they consider themselves family. Yui who is one of the two backup singers left in 2018 due to health reasons. No one knows what the health issue is. That kind of privacy is held in high esteem in Japan. Yui and the other backup dancer singer Moa were chosen by their producer to join the group because of their similar voices to Su the lead singer. And because of their twin like appearance. So, no harm in thinking they were related. As far the whole anime thing goes. Su was in a group called Karen Girls named after the anime they did songs for. So, it's easy to make that connection. And finally, like I said last time. Anime has used metal in their soundtracks for a long time. How is that no one seems to notice this? I also think it's been used in video games for longer than most would think as well. and Babymetal songs have been in a couple of video games. And used for the entrance song of one of the WWE wrestlers. Babymetal secretly have been everywhere. LOL. Rumor has it that they have travel the galaxy. We know their funko pops went into orbit. I think the video of it is still on youtube. And now for the song about no more bullying. No one should get on your case about thinking it sounds like anime. They shouldn't have bullied you about that. Yup Babymetal does things differently. I'm glad they do. They even did a Babymetal reacts to Babymetal videos. Including this song. Very cool. You should check those out as they give a glimps into their personalities and things that went on during the video shoots. Enjoy the journey through the foxhole and into the Babymetal galaxy of music.

In Japan, anime songs are often brought to hard rock and metal.
Probably, it seems that there are many metal lovers hidden in the composer.
So I think many people overseas think it's similar to anime, but as a Japanese person, I actually think it's the opposite.
I think that BABYMETALs sound is made faithfully to real metal, and I think more and more anime songs have strong heavy metal elements.

  • @Icipher353
    @Icipher353 Рік тому +4

I've been enjoying your reactions so far, and your perspective completely valid. Lots of people make the association between Babymetal and anime and I don't think that the comparison is baseless at all, even though they have never intentionally sought to sound like anime. Its just that Japanese rock song writing has a certain sound to it and the language has a familiar cadence to it that makes you naturally associate the two.
In recent times, the Japanese metal scene has actually undergone something of a revival, in part thanks to the success of Babymetal bringing attention to metal in Japan and to Japanese heavy metal internationally. There is a whole thriving metal scene and a whole bunch of bands that are getting international recognition. Some of the standout Japanese metal bands making waves currently are Nemophlia, Hanabie, Love Bites, Paledusk to name a few.
Suzuka, Yui and Moa aren't related. Su is from Hiroshima, Yui is from Kanagawa, and Moa is from Aichi, so they are all from different parts of Japan. They were handpicked by their producer Kobametal to be in Babymetal; Su was chosen as 12 year old to be the lead vocalist due to her powerful voice and strong stage presence for such a young age, Yui and Moa were chosen to be Su's sidekicks and backing dancers and part of the reason they were chosen was due to how similar they looked at 10 years old. At the time this video was made in 2012 Su was around 14 and Yui and Moa were about 12. And no, that was not them playing the guitars, although Moa can play guitar a bit, she has said that she doesn't practice enough.

Dude, you funny. What's funnier is this is the first time I've seen this video though I've seen them perform this live (on video). Loose story line is they were put together to allow metal parents to connect with their kids and also to 'save' metal as the scene in Japan was waning. This video seems to address the second as the old white dude is watching his scene die with all the dead guitars etc., and Babymetal comes along to save metal. At the end old white dude is reborn in the babybones band. Pretty damned awesome from that aspect. The babybones band behind them are actors and though one of the girls does play guitar a bit here they are acting also. That said, they do have 2 backing live bands. The Kami Band is for real and you'll see them in videos plus a traveling band of hired pros for world tours. Enjoy!

A really good idea to acquaint yourself with this genre is to hop in the way back machine. Start with the girls preview at a school called Sakura Gakuin. Babymetal introduced Kawaii(cute) Metal. Moa can play guitar the best. Recommend their collab w/ Rob Halford. Just dive into the foxhole and be amazed. Song meaning, "no more bullying forever." Appreciate your reaction.Their hand sign is the FOX God.

The 3 girls are named Moametal, Yuimetal and Su-Metal. They are not related, although they are close friends to each other and consider each other family. Su-Metal is the main vocalist and always has a Ponytail during performances. Moametal and Yuimetal always have pigtails. Moametal has the dimples when she smiles while Yuimetal has the chubby babycheeks. Yuimetal officially left the band in 2018 due to health reasons. As a result you'll see what Babymetal named the Avengers. When one of the Avengers perform with Su and Moa, you'll find that the Avengers don't have either a Ponytail, nor pigtails, but have their hair done and have buns where the pigtails would have been.
In terms of ages, Su-Metal was born in 1997 while Moa and Yui were born in 1999, so they were very young indeed during this video. I'm kind of typing as you're reacting and I'm responding to what you're saying as I type lol
The guitar-work by the girls. Moa and Yui both can play guitar, although Moa is better as she has been training longer. That being said, neither were actually playing guitar in this video I'm pretty sure. It looks real however because they DO know what they WOULD need to do to play the song.
Ijime, Dame, Zettai pretty much means No more bullying forever. It's a song about ending bullying.
Anyhow, hopefully this post helps you a little bit. Grington300 and Jake Muller are the true walking encyclopedia's of the Babymetal community. I'm just an up and coming fan who still has a lot to learn and a ways to go before I'm on their level lol Kitkat is also very knowledgeable as well.

Don't let some of the fans turn you off to this amazing group of human beings. Be prepared though, you will be told 100 times to watch BABYMETAL Live performances anytime you can. As already mentioned the Sonisphere 2014 performance is usually the way to go for Ijime, Dame, Zettai. 🤘🦊🤘
They are not related. Moa and Yui were friends from the time they were 6yrs old I believe. Yui was a fan of Su (lead singer) when she sang in the Karen Girl's group. There is a really well done guide out there if you are ever interested and believe me fans will watch it with you again and again. Myself included.
Yeah that wasn't the girls playing the guitars. They have had some training. Moa knows it a little better, but they were told just to ham it up for the video. There is a super cute commentary video the girls give on this Music video a couple years later.

Oh man, people are going to lament that you didn't watch the live Sonisphere performance (and I'm one of them XD). BabyMetal is always best live. You're doing yourself a disservice by wasting your first exposure to these songs on MVs, at least in the case of most of their catalogue (there are a handful of exceptions). When in doubt, go with live. We've got links.
Not going to pretend that the anime music comment is one that doesn't work its way under my skin, if only because 1) we hear it so often and 2) it's a little off base except for a few of their songs, but people need to chill. It's not the end of the world. It's not an insult, either, because anime music is good shit. I think that the frustration is cumulative and they've just decided to take it out on you because you're the millionth western reactor to say something like that, but it's not your fault that most people's first and only exposure to Japanese music is through anime and you can't discern the difference yet. You're fine. Just keep doing what you're doing. Except...do it with live versions. :p 🤘🦊🤘

Just a quick question, but why keep on doing the mv's? You really SHOULD check out their live performances. I agree their mv's are good, but they are NOTHING compared to Babymetal live. Everything is better live with Babymetal. That's just something you won't understand until you see them do a performance like Road of Resistance Live in Japan or whatever else.
As for the Anime comment, I'm not sure why anybody would get upset at you and say it is offensive to say they sound like Anime. Personally I've never really thought so, but then I've only ever really seen Naruto and Boruto, and to me Babymetal music doesn't sound like it would fit with those anime. That being said, even if that were the case, lyrically, I COULD see how some of their songs WOULD fit in anime. Songs like Karate, Road of Resistance, and some other songs would fit well into Anime based on the messaging. I guess maybe the person became upset because almost every reactor tends to make the anime comment and maybe the listener is tired of hearing that remark. I don't really consider it offensive though.
