The UK crowd is super cruel to bands they dont like. The girls were crying backstage before the show thinking they would be hated. The UK ended up chanting we want more. The girls deserve it. They passed the test big time. How could you not love the girls. Remember 90% of the crowd had no idea who BabyMetal were, the few fans lead the crowd,,,,.

    Great reaction, thanks!
You are right, winning over that particular kind of crowd can be considered an epic win. Specially because the fact that almost no one there had any idea about what BABYMETAL was. And yes, they can be very harsh if the band don't match their expectations booing them out the stage and even throwing bottles with disgusting content... you know. There was a buzz online to do that but the result was this: walking off the stage as the crowd was asking for more. The audience spoke!

Great reaction and you are absolutely right about them being unique, incredible and having magical voices. You have some info about this performance in the comments already, but maybe I can help with a few more details.
Sonisphere 2014 was a big part of their first tour outside of Asia and it was their very first time in England - they played a couple of small venues in Paris and Cologne in the week or so before going to the UK to play Sonisphere (and another show in London a couple of days later which sold out so fast they moved that to a bigger venue).
They were originally booked to play a small side stage or tent, but the video for 'Gimme Chocolate' went viral and BABYMETAL was being noticed. So with just a couple of months notice they were moved to the main stage.
Some gatekeepers who thought BABYMETAL were a gimmick or joke band were not happy and made threats on social media that they would be armed with bottles of piss to throw and would be booing them off stage ... again you are right, UK crowds can be brutal, but happily neither threat was carried through.
Su-metal was 16, Yuimetal and Moametal had celebrated their 15th birthdays at the Paris and Cologne shows (Moa's birthday was actually the day before Sonisphere). From back stage they could not see the crowd and worried what they should do if nobody had come to see them - they were very surprised to see 50-60,000 people waiting as they walked on stage.
Only a few hundred of those people were fans and had any idea who they were (they had managed to get to the front - anybody throwing anything at the stage would need a good arm ... as I said before, fortunately that didn't happen), the rest were very puzzled to see 3 tiny Japanese girls in red tutus.
Su-metal has said that they saw a sea of puzzled looking faces and thought to herself "This will be fun. Let's knock it out of the park!" She also said how, as they played their set those few hundred at the front who were jumping up and down and singing along were joined bit by bit by the rest of the crowd and that it looked like a wave moving out from the stage towards the back of the crowd.
They played 5 songs - about 25 minutes - and when they walked off stage, as you could hear, the crowd were shouting for "One more song" and "We want more". This was the moment the girls felt they were accepted by the metal world and they realised their music could break through language and other barriers.
This really was a huge turning point and land mark in their history.
They had the biggest mosh pits of the weekend - their merch also outsold all the other bands playing that weekend (including big names like Anthrax, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Avenged Sevenfold, Slayer and more).

@@RadioTeo Yea mate i was one of them, they were meant to be playing on one of the side stages but apparently gimme chocolate had gone viral on the internet so the organisers thought it a good idea to move them onto the main stage, the 55 thousand(official figures but it was probably 65 as nobody asks the satan slaves if they have tickets)were there to see Maiden, there was probably a few thousand who had heard them but the majority had no clue who they were.
They topped the merchandise sales as well ,the gig in London had to get moved to a bigger venue (haha the slaves at least know how to get stuff done even if it is rather unconventional) 🤣

The single was first announced after the concert Legend "I" at Shibuya O-East on October 6, 2012. An early version of the song can be heard in a video uploaded to the band's official UA-cam channel entitled "Babymetal - My First Heavy Metal in Tokyo 2012", which also features part of a live performance of "Iine!". On November 8, 2012, an official trailer for the single and accompanying music was uploaded to the band's official UA-cam channel. The trailers, along with a live performance at Sonisphere Festival, subtitled the song as "No More Bullying" and "No More, Bullying, Forever", respectively. An interview with the producers of the band was published in the December issue of Marquee to promote the single's release in January.
The single was released in four versions: a standard edition and three physical limited editions, "I", "D", and "Z". The DVDs included in the limited editions contain either footage of the music video for "Ijime, Dame, Zettai", or of a live performance by Babymetal. The single also had a promotional release to customers who purchased tickets to live performances of Legend "I", "D", or "Z".
Unlike previous singles released under Juonbu Records, no songs from the single appeared on a Sakura Gakuin album, due to "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" having been already released the same school year.

    Lyrics Overview:-
IJIME, DAME, ZETTAI (Bullying, No, Absolutely)
    [Rururu...]
    [Ah.]
Dreaming, I couldn't have even it.
Between the light and the darkness, I stayed alone.
Those who got hurt were not only I myself,
but also those who kept on watching me. It was you.
    Confidence, [Have it!]
    I couldn't have. [Don't be beaten!]
I kept on hiding [I dislike to be found!]
    until yesterday. [Yesterday is gone!]
But good-bye to yesterdays' myself. [Bye-bye!]
    Bullying. [No!] Bullying. [No!]
It's disgraceful. [No! No! No! No!]
Sometimes you get hurt, sometimes you hurt someone,
and we all get badly hurt.
    Fox, [Fly!] Fox, [Fly!]
I'm sure you can fly. [Fly! Fly! Fly! Fly!]
Let your pain and sadness all go outside!
It's OK because I'll protect you.
I didn't show my tears, and in the night I was about to cry,
in a room deep inside my heart, I stayed alone.
Those who hurt me were not only someone else,
but also those who pretended not to notice. It was my friend.
    Nothing [Nothing!]
    could I say. [Say nothing!?]
I was about to give up [No easy throwing out!]
    until yesterday. [Yesterday is gone!]
But good-bye to yesterdays' myself. [Bye-bye!]
    Bullying. [No!] Bullying. [No!]
It's disgraceful. [No! No! No! No!]
Sometimes you get hurt, sometimes you hurt someone,
and we all get badly hurt.
    Fox, [Fly!] Fox, [Fly!]
I'm sure you can fly. [Fly! Fly! Fly! Fly!]
Let your pain and sadness all go outside!
It's OK because I'll protect you.
    Pain...
    Aching...
    All the while...
    Alone...
    Your heart...
    Pretending not to notice...
    Anymore...
    I'll never get away.
    Bullying, No, Absolutely.
Full of dearest-ness, it's pressuring but also encouraging.
    Anymore, anymore your...
I don't want to see anymore your tearful face.
    Bullying. [No!] Bullying. [No!]
It's disgraceful. [No! No! No! No!]
Sometimes you get hurt, sometimes you hurt someone,
and we all get badly hurt.
    Fox, [Fly!] Fox, [Fly!]
    I'm sure you can fly.
Let your pain and sadness all go outside!
It's OK because I'll protect you.
Bullying, No. [No! No! No! No!]
    Bullying, No, forever.
Bullying, No. [No! No! No! No!]
    Bullying, No, never.

This stage performance is said to be BABYMETAL's world debut.
There are many side stories so I am sure someone will explain them to you.
From me, I heard that YUI and MOA who just turned 15 years old had a failure on stage backstage after this and both of them were crying a lot... and 16 year old SU thought they were like twins and laughed about it.😁😁😁

It's not that they had a actual failure, they just felt they did not engage the crowd adequately during one of their Black Babymetal performances and therefore felt like they had failed. One is one's own worst critic.

They had certainly been around for years, but this is probably their birth on the international stage. At least their first really big performance in the Western World. They had performed outside of Japan prior to this and 1-2 smaller shows in Europe a week earlier, but this was a breakout performance.

Much as I love the performance art that is BABYMETAL, their current album is firmly in my current rotation, they are not the cutest and most badass metal band - today that crown falls firmly on Hanabie’s head. Don’t know them? Check them out, they are two albums in and gaining traction fast! They are also an actual band, for what that’s worth. 😜
