Awesome...I've loved this song ever since I'd first heard Linda do it way back in the mid '70s and I love the Black Crowes as well so it's great to see the two meet. 8-) Well done.
Heard many others, but this version is ridiculous. My band has covered this for years, and now I try to sing it like this. I love Chris' rendition of it. Great vocals and groove. Thanks, Brother
Excellent cover the Lowell George classic. Also check out The Byrds version. Also a band from the early 1970s, named Seatrain with Peter Rowan, did a great job on this tune. Two other members of Seatrain were Andy Kulberg & Roy Blumenfeld of The Blues Project.
Great version of a classic song. Thanks for the post. The more you dig into their catalog, the better the Crowes get. I hope their hiatus is short, they are in a really creative period with all cylinders firing.
couldnt agree more brother - kids today have nothing to listen to like we did - cant imagine a single tune in todays charts that will be remembered in 40 months let alone 40 years - mabye we werent the lost generation after all ???
amazing Little Feat song. This cover is right up there with Linda R....i have looked deeply, and really there are only about 2 or 3 people/bands that do this song justice. The Black Crowes head the list.
If you haven't heard it.... chk out The Midnight Ramble Bands version.....It's after Levon died (God rest his soul) & with a female singer, but great instruments...Pretty good version. I'm a big Levon fan, from the same neck of the woods in Arkansas.....Don't tell anyone, but I smoked a joint with Levon Shhhhh.
This song does any band justice! Even if you're shitty, like some I was in! Jamey Johnson does this, too. I looked it up - 97 bands do it (& counting)!
no one does it like lowell and thats the way it was meant to be, I'm sorry to say that because it is a beautiful song but no one can beat lowell's calm demeanor
oh n dont forget The Commander's I Took Three Bennies.(Here I sit with a broken heart I Took Three Bennies now my Semi truck wont start). From their 2nd LP: Hot Licks, Cold Steel & Truckers' Favorites
LOVE THE CROWES BUT THINK THIS SONG BEST SUNG BEST BY "GREG ALLMAN" ON SOUTHERN BLOOD ALBUM/CD NEW RELEASE AFTER HIS PASSING CHECK IT OUT SOUNDS REALLY GREATTHE WHOLE ALBUM IS GREAT.
this ait bad. i was expecting the over exagerated iiii eeeeee aaaaaaaa robinson eeee aaaa iiiiii...people you now the sound i'm talking about......eeeee iiiiiiiiooooooo like he is spazing out

sometimes, people cover other's songs because they actually like them, theyre not trying to *be* them nor *sound or emulate* them....They just like the song.... Everyone is always trying to piss on someone's parade.
just because they wrote it doesn't mean they "did" it better. Most of the time the cover is not as good but in this case it was better. Also that's why I said kicks all other "covers" ass.
+Brittany Caudill Ok..so I went to Commander Cody to listen to your claim. I would put the pipe down. Had you thrown in the caveat " To me "...then I probably wouldn't have said anything as you would have then made it subjective.
agreed....the Commander Cody version is beyond square....it's almost painful. Feat nailed the proper vibe for this song live on Waitin' For Columbus....everyone else is doing the faster tempo....plus you get Bill Payne's stupdendous piano solo on that version.
I think it fits more for men, because imagining Linda as a female truck driver doesn't work as well for me. Also the lyrics generally fit not so much for a woman I would say. But it's just my opinion...
Jim Chance, I’ll take the band that wrote 99.99% of their own material as opposed to the artist who just sang songs written for her to sing. Creativity with grace trumps just a pretty voice... for me anyways
there's just WAY too much shit goin' on here....mando/slide/piano/cymbal crashes/shuffling drums.....hot mess. Let's all solo at once shall we !?!?!?!?!
The ability if The Black Crowes to take anyone's song and make it their own is truly inspirational. For love of the music, nothing more.
This is probably the greatest truck driving song ever written.
brings tears of joy...beautiful job....Lowell would be proud-
Yes he would.
Takes a southern boy to do this Little Feat masterpiece justice. The CROWES baby.... true rock and roll with some southern soul!
They are southern from Atlanta, GA..lol
Great version of this classic song.

I agree brother. Brings tears
great version of this classic. I miss you Charlie.

great version....Lowell would smile.
Great version of a classic song. Thanks for the post. The more you dig into their catalog, the better the Crowes get. I hope their hiatus is short, they are in a really creative period with all cylinders firing.
They’re finally back bro isn’t that insane
couldnt agree more brother - kids today have nothing to listen to like we did - cant imagine a single tune in todays charts that will be remembered in 40 months let alone 40 years - mabye we werent the lost generation after all ???
Dang it. Chris, you made me shed a tear.
Very much in the spirit of Little Feat
I think it is an excellent cover of one of my favorite songs.
my favorite is Lowell George...but this is my next favorite...thanks
Did you forget the late Greg Allmans version?
I love me some good old's southern rock

that's awesome. going to listen now.
+James Lumpkin ' was here, with that Nikon. $$$$$$
Check out The Band of Heathen's version, best one I have heard.
david browning
BlackBerry Smoke would go second in the short list....in my opinion.
Wonderful rendition. The tempo is magical. ARA's do it very similarly. Lowell George's genius is remarkable.
I love this version of the song, and it is the version I use for inspiration, when I want to play it.
I love the Crowes version.
Me too. Beautiful.
Love this song. good cover.
Love it, great version!
A great cover... my favorite version!!
Best version ever ! 👏🏻💙
Wiser Time is a good road song.
Most renditions of Willing are superfluous, but this one works, because he approaches it vocally as a pure country singer.
lovin this version
Fantastic sound
Yup this is great! i just got the Crowes acoustic album 22 of the best songs
Lowell George gone way too soon
Great cover!
They are all good
Cool version of a classic!

This is a great version. I’m surprised it never got any radio play
excellent
This song does any band justice! Even if you're shitty, like some I was in!
Jamey Johnson does this, too. I looked it up - 97 bands do it (& counting)!
Foda demais mano
Damn good tune #vibes

Nice !
Little feat and Lowell George are the best
No way friend.. Linda Ronstadt gives me chills everytime.
@@sweetsara8444 You can't be serious, it's a pop sanitized version.
Gregg descansa en paz no te olvidaré nunca
Oooo, thanks for sharing!!
seatrain nails it also
Nice cover. LG would approve.
hell yeah....I'm gonna run till I'm done.
pretty respectful cover with a nice subdued energy
bit more our style???what do you reckon.?
Daniel Lobo cool in my book
Next best version to the original LG
Wow
The Abyss brought me here.
great remake of linda ronstadts willin
hrk614. Little feet
Canela.
need to sloooow it down a little IMO
Jamey Johnson does a slower version, about Little Feat's live speed.
All versions by all bands are good!
no one does it like lowell and thats the way it was meant to be, I'm sorry to say that because it is a beautiful song but no one can beat lowell's calm demeanor
Momma Hated Diesels by Comander Cody & The Lost Planet Airmen is kinda purrtie too!
sweet family robinson
weed, whites and wine.......
Lowell George did it best but this is good
@NCSpacey19 with you
RIP Tom petty
Even better than Jamey Johnson's.....
Damn. Just get Chris some white overalls, a strat, and a craftsman 11/16 deep socket
Patrick Robinson real men play a led paul
oh n dont forget The Commander's I Took Three Bennies.(Here I sit with a broken heart I Took Three Bennies now my Semi truck wont start). From their 2nd LP: Hot Licks, Cold Steel & Truckers' Favorites

dave lastman. Let my horse step on your foot and you can make that sound.
yes, I would call it over singing or overplaying
Imho, this is one of the very few covers of this song that actually works. Most are way to sophisticated.
Not in Lowell or Linda's emotional league - but a nice try.

commander Cody's version kick this and all other covers ass's
Brittany Caudill Actually, Lowell George and Little Feat did (do) this song better, seeing as how Lowell wrote it.
just because they wrote it doesn't mean they "did" it better. Most of the time the cover is not as good but in this case it was better. Also that's why I said kicks all other "covers" ass.

I like the Blackberry smoke version better.
Linda and Lowell made it sound natural. 'Cause Lowell loved her and she was always on the road via Tucson. These guys just try too hard get cool.
already said but... Id rather hear the Crowes cover just about any song in the world than hear the original.
Meh to these crowes - I'll have Linda instead.
Jim Chance
I like her version better, but overall she doesn't hold a candle musically to the Crowes.
@@da324 You're kidding, right?

yes for god's sake,we can only listen to one instrument at a time
the voice doesn't match with the music.
+Valentina Sacco really? i can't help but ask.....what kind of voice would you prefer for a cover? Linda Rondstatt?
+david browning hahaha Linda Rondstatt! That is great.
+david browning Hell yeah.
Peggy Miller funny thing is, her cover is actually my favorite. haha
Mine too.
This is horrible. You people that like this are out of touch
well out of touch ! thumbs up to his comments everyone .
