@@maria102060mg I chose to stop the hard liquor all together. To test myself and see if 2-3 beers was good enough to enjoy after a long shift. It’s been working so far, and I know that a lot of folks can’t go that route. Look me up on Facebook if you ever need to talk.
I remember going to a local record shop called “Buy Backs”. North Canton, Ohio. As of 2022 it’s been long closed… I showed up and said I want to hear some 70’s, 80’s, and early 90’s. And the store rep said to me….. The Black Crows new album just dropped…. I said, “YEP”. This is my favorite song on the album! I would love to hear them live! Having young children makes it hard. Momma I’m so hard to handle now. 😉
I agree with you (though I'm not white, lol). I'm just a black chick that loves rock, especially blues rock. The Black Crowes knocked me out in 1990 when I was only fourteen (Chris, especially, shallow as it may seem). This band is genuine in its respect of the roots and sound. The Faces and Allman Bros. had that ooze has well.
War is bullshit! Miss all my brothers and sisters we lost during two decades of unjust wars. I still laugh when i think of you on that .50...miss you Roach !
Awesome songwriters, best band since 1988 to bad like most bands, there was a time limit on their bond. This group is in my top 5 of all time (Beatles, Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Rolling Stones and the Crowes)
Bravo... I would say Cream or Jimi, Queen or ELO over the Stones and AC/DC, no offense at all... but yeah...otherwise top 5 if I may be so bold. Bravo Fetterman. 3 out of 5 ain't bad and that ain't a Meatloaf song.
These guys are truly amazing. Too bad I just discovered how amazing they are. Radio stations will ply their most popular songs off any given album and so unless you buy their albums you don’t get to hear the rest of their tunes. Thank you You Tube. I was born in the 60’s and this band is definitely the kind of band I would have loved back 80’s and 90’s . Somehow they slipped under my radar and I’m realizing only now what I missed! Great band. Music for old souls like me.
SEMIretired same here man, I only knew the popular ones but this year I got into cabin fever then the rest is history.. Yeah Chris is an ass and Steve should still be in the band but man these songs are magical with all the members,, Marc Ford was a huge part of the Crowes sound back in the early 90s..
my new favorite black crowes song!!! I saw them at jazzfest in new orleans a week ago and they played this, first time I have heard it..... one word.... AMAZING!!! thanks for sharing!!!
I have loved this song from the time that I first heard it because it is yet another example of the talent of the Black Crowes as southern rock craftsmen, both as individual musicians and as a collective group. I am primarily being facetious when I say, this because I am white as well and a true music lover will probably appreciate this comment for what it is :P...but I haven't heard white boys with so much natural blues and rhythm oozing out of them since The Rolling Stones, and I love it.
My wife's name is Joie. Her mama has always called her Josephine, a long nickname ha. Whenever the Crowes come up, she always tells of the time they sung her song to her...eye to eye, her and him word for word. That kind of thing is what makes boys like this the best, that they were able to give her that
long time crowes fan although I did not check out much besides musical companion. Just getting turned on to this song like 15 years later, wait, maybe 20. Beautiful song indeed. Re affirms my love of the band
I wish the brothers would release a photograph of Frank Robinson's record collection. It's not hard to guess, but I want to know what set these fellas off.
@sugardayfox no it's not at all. on this master cut for the album he has a change of heart about love being enough....his tone changes: "you've got to know where you want to be...it gets cold outside. it's too late to play it safe...so let's let it all ride!"
this bs is what people told me even in my childhood, which is two decades ago. there's good stuff around, and the 'bitches' shit started with the rap in the 80s. but there's also good rap and hiphop that treats other issues. some electro has enriched the music scene, and variants on rock/metal to me are awesome. and listen to many beatles' songs that consist of a few words without much meaning.
Possibly one of their finest next to Wiser Time.
This is the last great Rock n Roll Band in my Mind.
CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED
It is the soundtrack of me getting sober, but losing the love of my life...best ballad ...hits hard like a masterpiece should
same here.....soundtrack to my life! And im still workin on the gettin sober part unfortunately!
Congrats man

Josephine Mikel Nice.
I'm glad you found it. It's lovely.
Someone suggested this song after I named my daughter Josephine... I sang it to her all time. Now she as an almost 8yo sings the lyrics instinctively!
I named my daughter Joci short for this song.

They're hard to handle but worth every minute of it.

My friend asked what's your favorite "new" band? My response was the Black Croews. He said they've been around like thirty years, I said I know!
War is bullshit! Miss all my brothers and sisters we lost during two decades of unjust wars. I still laugh when i think of you on that .50...miss you Roach !
Well, I'm only 21 but I haven't heard this in three or so years. Love.

That's funny cause my wife and I DO NOT share musical interests, but she loves TBC and this album especially.
Swerv m Its your perfect world!
Find your own perfect world and a woman will flock to that like a fly to bug-light and still be a pain in the ass.
Saw those guys for the first time in 1993. Great great band. Keeping the tradition alive.

Perfect song.
I thought there were no songs with the name Josephine. I was wrong! This is such a beautiful song.

You do realize he's talking about battling heroin addiction right?
That's the beauty of music, you can assign any meaning to whatever song you like.
