Love Carlisle ! It kind of smells like Spicebomb Extreme on its dry down. Except Carlisle lasts 3x longer than Spicebomb Extreme and it has much more depth. Carlisle opens up a bit strange for some people when you stick your nose to it, but the smell in the air and the drydown are absolutely amazing and i get so many compliments on it.
10/10 masterpiece work of art. It's mass appealing while being unique. Lasts 12+ hrs on your skin and projects like crazy. Best fragrance I've ever smelled.
I saw that video as well. I almost couldn't believe what I was hearing, but everyone is different so I get it. Happy his take on it changed as well. It's a wonderful scent.

These are the same 3 I have from the house. Layton and Herod were love at first smell. Carlisle had an ingredient that initially threw me off (it was very early into my fragrance discovery) but when I tried it again it also blew me away. I still love Layton but it smells sort of quaint compared to Carlisle.

a brand that keeps the balanced middle as the best option, in everything they do. especially when it comes to their scents, which is very hard to achieve. beautifulness comes with balance.

I've been waiting for your review on Carlisle since the first time you smelled it on Cris' video. It's one of my most loved scents and i'm glad to see you liked it on skin.
for me it smells sweet spicy with a small hint of freshness and to me i smell vanilla and the tonka bean mixed with incense. Its not too sweet not too spicy its just perfectly balanced. I feel the scent is for going out in general. I feel like its for when you dress up nice but not necessarily suit and tie but when you just dress in nice clothing in general. It could be a nice tshirt and jeans type vibe or suit or with winter clothing etc. Very versatile and i think if you are outside and its hot you might not want to wear this cause it could be overpowering.

I love watching Aaron talking about fragrances. I always thought there was something lovely in Sauvage, even tho the frag community slates it, and Aaron put his finger on it. It smells like bubble bath. One of the most comfortable and safe fragrances that most of us experience growing up. Wouldn't be many who find the smell of bubble bath offensive. Simple genius.

Herod changed the way I view fragrances and is possibly one of the fragrances that made me become a collector. This is my favorite from their line, thats to show how much I love it . To top it off it’s affordable !

You could do Bentley for men intense. Same perfumer as Encre Noire range (Nathalie Lorson). I just blind bought it as it was only £30 and it’s great. Smells like an expensive niche and lasts really well. Leathery amber spicy, so nice.
This just arrived on Thursday! Mancera - Red Tobacco is what it reminds me of, I wish I had sampled before buying. It’s good though after the dry down. Ur reviews are Jst amazing and informing!

This reminds me of a dried down TF Black Orchid, just my opinion. Smelled the Herod and Carlisle today to see which one I would go for.. I was in the store for 10-20 mins... Initially I did not like Carlisle off the spray it was too strong booze smell, the Herod I liked very much sweet and strong. But after 10 mins the smell of the Carlisle began to mature and it was just awe, while the Herod just died out ( bad batch I suppose) but for me Carlisle is just such a interesting scent for me... Will buy it next pay day just amazing 😍
I got the oud ♥️ and it's amazing I have a couple of different oud but this one my goodness. Unfortunally Oxytocine was broken when I opened the box and now the room where I keep it smells like it 😄 so powerful, let me say very refined, balanced and amazing quality ingredients , thank you soooo much it was an amazing xmas gift ♥️🦄

Hi Aaron, once more a fantastic review 👍 I got my Carlisle bottle out sprayed the fragrance on my arm and go through the test, while watching your review...😊 Parfums de Marly is one of my favorite niche brands and my top 5 are: Herod, Oajan, Habdan, Carlisle and Layton Exclusif, but I like also Layton, Pegasus, Kalan, Percival, Galloway and Sedley + Delina and Delina Exclusif this two fragrances belongs to my wife. @@rezar6894 Percival is fresh, citrus, sweet and spicy, Carlisle is a mix between Layton (fresh, vanilla, sweet and spicy) und Herod (tobacco, smokey, vanilla, sweet and spicy). Carlisle is better for colder months and Percival is better for warmer months.
That's right! The same occurred with the Dior Homme line. He said on one video that he disliked Dior Homme Parfum because he hates the Iris note, and then 1 year later he says he loves Dior Homme Intense (that is Iris from the beginning to the end). Sponsorship, maybe?!

The trail you leave with Carlisle is (IMO ofc) unmatched, I've had really funny encounters with it. Last fall on a saturday evening I was going out to play pool at our local pub, I was walking past a group of "slightly" intoxicated people and I'm not sh*tting you one of the guys shouted out "WHO THE F*** ARE YOU SMELLING SO GOOD"🤣 "That is an incredible smell" and so on. I told them it's just a sample from one of the new Dior releases because I don't want this catching on😂 anyways this is my signature scent except summer but sometimes I can't keep myself from using it. It's just so good.

Carlisle is not a favorite of mine from this house. On my skin it’s very dry and dusty off the top, like I’ve just rubbed dry spices and tobacco all over myself. Each time I smell it I warm up to it, but I still reach for Layton and Godolphin and Pegasus before this one
Very interesting. I always felt that Carlisle was generic on my skin. Also it feels like 2 fragrances in one but never blended together. I even sold my bottle. Nevertheless, nice video Aaron.
Carlisle is such a long lasting fragrance, and I recommend people pick up this fragrance (if they enjoy the scent) before any future discussions of reformulations/weaker performance ever come up in the following years. However, I agree with Aaron and find that I enjoy Herod much more.
@@tylero2112 Herod is definitely less potent than Carlisle, but as far as the scent I enjoy Herod much more. There's just something in Carlisle (can't put my finger/nose on it) that I'm not in love with.
@@hatchpeacock9962 I don't know but I still own a vintage bottle of Fahrenheit that's still going strong, even if it might not smell exactly like it did back in its day. I just make sure to keep my fragrances in a cool, dry place.
At Chris Chanel it was tested on a strip half an hour after it was sprayed. Due to the amount of naturals this is different on the skin to paper. As I mentioned I think it’s great, but not for me. but I prefer Herod. I can appreciate something and enjoy it and it not be my personal style.🤗
Great review again Aaron, I have this and herod and love them to bits but ive just treated myself to Layton exclusive and that is something else, might not be to everyone's taste because its a bit darker than standard Layton. Btw, im wearing Swedoft Rasputin today and believe me you would love it, its the most beautifull fragrence ive ever smelled. Happy Christmas!
@@dantalksscentsuk I appreciate that. Although both are pretty strong fragrance I found mancera to be a bit more "versatile" Carlisle is gorgeous but only in really cold freezing weather, in Fall to me it becomes really choking sweet
@@maikjansen2332 totally agree on the versatility. I've had such a variety of compliments from Red Tobacco. Some have said its nice and smokey, some have said it smelled fruity and some enjoy the musky notes.
Not really imo... red tobacco has this distinctive pear note that I cannot get past... its kind of like throwup... only after about 2 hours I can tolerate it.
Wow such a difference in opinion from the first time you smelled this on Fragmental channel where you couldn’t stand the smell! In fact, you made the stinky face when you took your first whiff… Lol! I blind bought this after the reviews I watched and after trying both Herod and Layton and when my bottle came OMG I had the same exact reaction as you did at first! I was devastated if I’m being honest! I thought for sure I was going to like Carlisle and I sprayed it on a strip because I was already wearing something else and was on my way somewhere when my package arrived so I didn’t have time to spray it on myself… But I wasn’t going to leave it at that so I decided to give it a full wear the next day and was pleasantly surprised and shocked at how different it smells on my skin! I don’t know why there was such a huge difference between the strip and my skin but it was night and day. I’m talking repulsive off the strip to my taste and absolutely lovely off my skin. Amazing how fragrances can do this and I have found it to be much more common when perfumers use a lot of natural materials and the fragrance is of high quality that this polar opposite scent profile takes place… It really makes me think that smelling fragrances from a test strip to be a futile exercise in deciding whether or not I like a fragrance. I’m actually a bit upset now because I think of all the times I’ve written off a bottle of potentially delicious juice after smelling it solely from a strip! I’m going to go back and skin-try some of the other ones I thought I would like based on scent profile but was turned off by their smell when I tested at a store or any other time by strip only testing. Aaron does the best reviews I’ve seen so far when it comes to fragrances. Being a chemist coupled with his love for the craft along with his natural ability to be able to dissect a perfume down to the molecular level is amazing! I love it when he gets a whiff of something that has a good amount of naturals and some good Oud and it makes him noticeably in a high euphoric state… His “Spidey senses” are strong and his brain was made to do exactly what he’s doing in life! I’ve just started to know his work and I’ve ordered a couple bottles and I can’t wait until they arrive so I can smell something that he’s crafted all on his own as his recommendations when it comes to how to improve on a fragrance are spot on with my thoughts so I know I will enjoy his work. Thanks for all the wonderful content and I am glad you changed your mind on Carlisle because I was thinking wow he needs to put it on his skin when I saw you smell it the first time and I actually yelled at my phone for you to spray it on your arm before you rated it but you didn’t hear me or something I guess…? 🤔 Lol!
Bought it, was disappointed, wasnt what was described by reviewers on yt. Its extremely masculine actually, because of the patchouli. It doesnt excite me, and ive only worn it once. Will have to keep wearing it to get the full story of the frag, and to see if it will grow enough on me to keep the bottle. Quality of the juice is incredible & thick, destroys most frags in longevity.

I haven't smelled much out there compared to others but from what I have smelled, Carlisle by far is the best perfume I've smelled so far and it is my favourite. If there is any other recommendations please do let me know!

Parfums de Marly is one of my favorite niche brands and my top 5 are: Herod, Oajan, Habdan, Carlisle and Layton Exclusif, but I like also Layton, Pegasus, Kalan, Percival, Galloway and Sedley + Delina and Delina Exclusif this two fragrances belongs to my wife.

@@rezar6894 Percival is fresh, citrus, sweet and spicy, Carlisle is a mix between Layton (fresh, vanilla, sweet and spicy) und Herod (tobacco, smokey, vanilla, sweet and spicy). Carlisle is better for colder months and Percival is better for warmer months.
I have leighton it’s amazingly made haven’t tried the others. Get a lot of compliments from it.

That's right! The same occurred with the Dior Homme line. He said on one video that he disliked Dior Homme Parfum because he hates the Iris note, and then 1 year later he says he loves Dior Homme Intense (that is Iris from the beginning to the end). Sponsorship, maybe?!

The trail you leave with Carlisle is (IMO ofc) unmatched, I've had really funny encounters with it. Last fall on a saturday evening I was going out to play pool at our local pub, I was walking past a group of "slightly" intoxicated people and I'm not sh*tting you one of the guys shouted out "WHO THE F*** ARE YOU SMELLING SO GOOD"🤣 "That is an incredible smell" and so on. I told them it's just a sample from one of the new Dior releases because I don't want this catching on😂 anyways this is my signature scent except summer but sometimes I can't keep myself from using it. It's just so good.

Carlisle is not a favorite of mine from this house. On my skin it’s very dry and dusty off the top, like I’ve just rubbed dry spices and tobacco all over myself. Each time I smell it I warm up to it, but I still reach for Layton and Godolphin and Pegasus before this one
Very interesting. I always felt that Carlisle was generic on my skin. Also it feels like 2 fragrances in one but never blended together. I even sold my bottle. Nevertheless, nice video Aaron.
Carlisle is such a long lasting fragrance, and I recommend people pick up this fragrance (if they enjoy the scent) before any future discussions of reformulations/weaker performance ever come up in the following years. However, I agree with Aaron and find that I enjoy Herod much more.

Herod has been reformulated :( and doesn't last half the time carlisle does.

@@tylero2112 Herod is definitely less potent than Carlisle, but as far as the scent I enjoy Herod much more. There's just something in Carlisle (can't put my finger/nose on it) that I'm not in love with.
@@hatchpeacock9962 I don't know but I still own a vintage bottle of Fahrenheit that's still going strong, even if it might not smell exactly like it did back in its day. I just make sure to keep my fragrances in a cool, dry place.

At Chris Chanel it was tested on a strip half an hour after it was sprayed. Due to the amount of naturals this is different on the skin to paper.
As I mentioned I think it’s great, but not for me. but I prefer Herod. I can appreciate something and enjoy it and it not be my personal style.🤗
Great review again Aaron, I have this and herod and love them to bits but ive just treated myself to Layton exclusive and that is something else, might not be to everyone's taste because its a bit darker than standard Layton.
Btw, im wearing Swedoft Rasputin today and believe me you would love it, its the most beautifull fragrence ive ever smelled.

I think Red Tobacco is better value for money and performs better. Very similar in my opinion.
Performance is equal, both of them Beastmode, but red tobacco is much more smoky, und carlisle has more of that Christmas vanilla cake note

@@dantalksscentsuk I appreciate that. Although both are pretty strong fragrance I found mancera to be a bit more "versatile" Carlisle is gorgeous but only in really cold freezing weather, in Fall to me it becomes really choking sweet
@@maikjansen2332 totally agree on the versatility. I've had such a variety of compliments from Red Tobacco. Some have said its nice and smokey, some have said it smelled fruity and some enjoy the musky notes.
Not really imo... red tobacco has this distinctive pear note that I cannot get past... its kind of like throwup... only after about 2 hours I can tolerate it.
Wow such a difference in opinion from the first time you smelled this on Fragmental channel where you couldn’t stand the smell! In fact, you made the stinky face when you took your first whiff… Lol! I blind bought this after the reviews I watched and after trying both Herod and Layton and when my bottle came OMG I had the same exact reaction as you did at first! I was devastated if I’m being honest! I thought for sure I was going to like Carlisle and I sprayed it on a strip because I was already wearing something else and was on my way somewhere when my package arrived so I didn’t have time to spray it on myself… But I wasn’t going to leave it at that so I decided to give it a full wear the next day and was pleasantly surprised and shocked at how different it smells on my skin! I don’t know why there was such a huge difference between the strip and my skin but it was night and day. I’m talking repulsive off the strip to my taste and absolutely lovely off my skin. Amazing how fragrances can do this and I have found it to be much more common when perfumers use a lot of natural materials and the fragrance is of high quality that this polar opposite scent profile takes place… It really makes me think that smelling fragrances from a test strip to be a futile exercise in deciding whether or not I like a fragrance. I’m actually a bit upset now because I think of all the times I’ve written off a bottle of potentially delicious juice after smelling it solely from a strip! I’m going to go back and skin-try some of the other ones I thought I would like based on scent profile but was turned off by their smell when I tested at a store or any other time by strip only testing. Aaron does the best reviews I’ve seen so far when it comes to fragrances. Being a chemist coupled with his love for the craft along with his natural ability to be able to dissect a perfume down to the molecular level is amazing! I love it when he gets a whiff of something that has a good amount of naturals and some good Oud and it makes him noticeably in a high euphoric state… His “Spidey senses” are strong and his brain was made to do exactly what he’s doing in life! I’ve just started to know his work and I’ve ordered a couple bottles and I can’t wait until they arrive so I can smell something that he’s crafted all on his own as his recommendations when it comes to how to improve on a fragrance are spot on with my thoughts so I know I will enjoy his work. Thanks for all the wonderful content and I am glad you changed your mind on Carlisle because I was thinking wow he needs to put it on his skin when I saw you smell it the first time and I actually yelled at my phone for you to spray it on your arm before you rated it but you didn’t hear me or something I guess…? 🤔 Lol!
Strip smell is never good. He shouldve done 5 skin smells. He hated the strip version

Sometimes it takes time to love a fragrance. You don't always get it in the first few sniffs.
Which is an interesting concept considering we're often times trying to smell better to people we may only see once.
Bought it, was disappointed, wasnt what was described by reviewers on yt.
Its extremely masculine actually, because of the patchouli.
It doesnt excite me, and ive only worn it once. Will have to keep wearing it to get the full story of the frag, and to see if it will grow enough on me to keep the bottle.
Quality of the juice is incredible & thick, destroys most frags in longevity.

I haven't smelled much out there compared to others but from what I have smelled, Carlisle by far is the best perfume I've smelled so far and it is my favourite. If there is any other recommendations please do let me know!
