Quick tip… before you go to change the oil let the mower run about 5 to 10 minutes to warm up the oil.
It will get the settlement particles out of the engine and also make it flow out easier if it's a little bit warm

As a protip from someone who spilled a lot of oil the first time I did an oil change on this model, you can use an old milk jug sliced in half longwise to guide the oil away from the frame. Saves a ton of effort with clean up. There's an official part for it but most of the reviews say it spills. And why would you pay $20 for a piece of plastic when a milk jug will do a better job for free?

when changing the oil, you can take a bottle of your favorite soda, cut the top so it fits underr and around where the oil runs out, cut the bottle of the bottle so it flows out into what ever container you want it to go in...and go forth young man and make no mess

Always check owners manual before any maintenance procedures. Also it helps to invest in a spark plug wire pulling tool to remove the wire to the plug, saves knuckles and cuts from happening 😊

actually, the manual that comes with the tractor clearly states 5w30 synthetic....it also warns in bold print that using 10w30 is acceptable, however it can cause excessive oil consumption, not sure why because obviously 10w30 is thicker oil ...I have the T100 which uses the same identical engine, so I use what the manual says to use.... which is 5w30 synthetic.
