Information only. Not advised to repeat. Everyone, I know you can use the key and button to mow in reverse..The thing is it is a pain in the a$$ to go through the steps.
I just got a T100.....very similar model.....unhooking the plug under the hood above the ignition disabled both the reverse safety AND the seat safety.
As far as the reverse with the blades on you didn't have to unplug it if u look where the key is the orange triangle shape button is to bypass that feature

Thanks for this info. As far as mowing in reverse, you have to turn the key into the yellow position and hold down the yellow triangle button while shifting into R, then you can keep switching from mowing forward to reverse without having to do that again until you stop and restart the engine. The seat thing is annoying though.

After the initial start of this mower turn the key back one click and press the triangle button above the key, That will let you mowe in reverse, not n need to disconnect and wires
You can mow in reverse without doing this fix. You turn the key to the yellow area and press the triangular button. Then you can mow in reverse. Also you don't have to disconnect the seat safety either. The engine stays on if you engage the parking brake lock and are in neutral and the blades are disengaged....
Thanks what a hassle to disengage the blade every time I back up. I wouldn’t unplug the under the seat just put the parking brake on and it won’t turn off.

I have the exact tractor and I do mow in reverse especially if I get in a situation. Also you don't have to disconnect the wire under the seat to get off. I just put the tractor in neutral, and engage the parking brake and disengage the blades.

Does that not disconnect the blade down the seat and having it in Neutral ? Alot of wires there just for the reverse ? Do you know where the brake safety is I think that is my problem or the selenoid is gone or not ground etc Thank you
On my Craftsman 19 HP Lawn Tractor, if I want to mow in reverse all I have to do is turn the ignition switch to a different mode as per my manual. The safety switches are there for your safety... Take all the precaution to be safe.
I tried to bypass by disconnecting the wire as you showed, on the same terminal. Year of tractor is 2020 and the tractor shut off immediately when I get off the seat. Any ideas why? Thanks

By unplugging the connector that you'll find by following the wires from the lights toward the rear of the machine. Probably within 18" of the lights themselves.
You do know that after starting the mower up you can turn key back one notch and push a button and it won't shut off and the seat switch only shuts off mower if u got deck engaged neither of those things needs to be done
Has anyone had a problem with the battery not charging since the time of purchase. My mower is only 2 weeks old and the tractor won't stay running unless I jump the battery. Then it cuts off and won't turn back on
Ever thought about reading the instruction manual or looking for advice on YT ??? Crank the mower turn the key half way back to the yellow part press the little yellow triangle. You Can now mow in reverse till your heart's content. Lock the brake, get off the mower - it will keep running - you do not have to disconnect anything if you need warranty work they might can tell you have monkeyed with the safety switches and void your warranty. Investigate BEFORE putting incorrect info on YT.
The whole idea of the safety switches being on there to start with is BS especially if you can just turn the key back a notch and press a yellow button to disable the damn things. As far as warranty work, you have to have it shipped or take it to a certified repair facility wherever that is. More BS!
Yes, the author states the same in the descr. For those of us having regular problems with this feature -- it turning off unexpectedly and having to reinitialize it all the time when you have a cul-de-sacky yard in which you have no other option than to mow in reverse at times OR waste yet another hour of your valuable time on a weekly time-intensive task -- this is very valuable information for which I am grateful and by which I can still very safely operate the mower but not go mental having to actively manage well-intentioned yet buggy / problematic safety systems.
When a person is safe, and decently intelligent, we do not need safety features such as these. I mow for a living. These types of features are annoying and need to be bypassed.
Not being able to mow in reverse is ridiculous. If you can’t handle it you shouldn’t even own a mower. Having to disengage and re-engage the mower deck belts around every tree, shrub or turn around is a waste of time not to mention a lot of wear on your belts. To make you happy, using more belts is bad for the environment. 😂

Eventually over time, that switch will fail. Ask me how I know. Then you need to bypass it so you can still mow in reverse.

It’s not Craftsman that put the silly safety features on it. It’s the Feds. It’s required on homeowner stuff.

How do you bypass the clutch break lever. I have a T1400 and mine won't start unless I rock with the break pressed down.

the yellow trie angel on the key switch does the same with the blades push it
The mower already has a Reverse Operating System on it. Why does something need to be disabled to mow in reverse???
Bought one today, made one round around the yard and it shut off. Hasn’t cranked since. Turns over but doesn’t crank.

My problem is my legs are short so every time I press the brake my seat would go up a little bit and I'd stall the mower

They will deny a warranty claim if they see your video. Also, it's not smart to disable safety features. They're there for a reason

Often there for idjuts. A lot of guys do not need these features, and they actually cause problems.
