I’ve MD and swallowing issues/hard time maintaining weight, my surgeon did great putting the placement in but the aftercare of teaching and answering my questions has been a complete crap show!! He’s so hard to get ahold of but you’ve really helped me. I knew a lot of this but I was always concerned that food particles always floated back up after flushing and was starting to get concerned. However, you’ve given me peace of mind now and I appreciate this resource so much.
My wife hasn't really needed to use her g-tube in a few months for feeding and now we've noticed what appears to be mold about 7-8 inched down from the port opening. We've tried numerous pipe cleaners to clean it out and nothing is working. Any suggestions?
I wish there were a way I could get some kind of assistance because my G-Tube stoma, although looks clear and healthy is very irritant 4 or 5 hours into feed. I cannot understand this issue. Condition I have from birth is eztremely rare, "OTOFACIAL Syndrome"
Use a brand new toothbrush. Keep the tube pinched with your left hand if you don't have a clasp then clean with a toothbrush and rinse with warm water.
You managed to simplify and explain it so well. The calm voice was a bonus. I wish I saw this in the beginning of our gtube experience.

I also just use sterile saline water for cleaning does same as non scented soap 😅

We haven't mastered this completely but they sell feeding tube cleaners (brushes) SHOULD be used with a deft hand.
