Mon Mothma throwing her husband under the bus for the missing credits has to be the best subtle moment from her. She accuses him of gambling and racking up debts in front of her driver, who she knows is ISB, and then ISB thinks its him who spent those credits, then she arranges the marriage deal with the gangster and since her husband is the more conservative of the two, it looks like he is the one arranging it to cover up his debts. Very smart play, as soon as I saw her accusing him, I had a feeling that was how things would play out.

Andor finale is nothing shot of a masterpiece. It's very powerful. Today's season finale felt like a roaring occasion. The way every story arc weaves together for this chapter is just phenomenal. It might not be a definitive ending for some of the actual events (with several open paths of ambiguity & cliffhanger energy), but it is absolutely a phenomenal ending for the themes & characters. I don't shed many tears watching movies or shows but Marva's funeral got me. The music was really cool and her speech was awesome. I also liked how there weren't pulled punches with the fighting, the shots landed really hard and made me wince almost every time.

Only one word can be used to truly describe this show, MASTERPIECE! I can’t remember the last time a show made me hold my breath from anticipation this many times throughout a season. And I’m completely with Cassian, if my mother gave that speech with that much heart at her funeral I would fight the Empire to my dying breath! If this show isn’t nominated in damn near every category at the next Emmy’s of BAFTA’s then no one deserves to be nominated.
I truly hope Disney cooperate officers don't abandon this show. I truly hope this show finds the path 24 did to stay alive. Such an honor and privelege to witness. Absolutely magnificent!
After watching this finale, I've placed Andor Season 1 in a tie with the Mandalorian as my favourite Star Wars series. I really can't compare the two since they're so tonally different and they serve two different stories. I love that we got to see Cassian's backstory, the hope and tragedies generated from the early stages of a rebellion and a really great ensemble of a cast/characters that I never knew I needed. What a great finale to cap off the season!
I love how different they are. Star Wars fanboys never get tired of the same stuff (Bad Batch, Tales of the Jedi, Book of Boba Fett, Kenobi). I want different things.
I agree. For me Andor easily since Rogue One, ROTS and ESB is the best executed SW. I like Mando really to - it’s the classical space western and has also great characters. But overall Andor set the bar in terms of directing, writing, dialogues and monologues and acting higher and kept it throughout the entire season. Despite Andor being darker, harsher and on a different tension pace (espionage thriller vs space western) I believe just the quality of the mentioned strengths Mando has a little bit more potential to come near this bar. And I hope they do in S3
“He will find us… Cassian will find us.” I’m a diehard, but I have never cried at Star Wars until that moment! This show has created a new hero/antihero, but uniquely done so from within canon. Cass already existed, but the backstory reframes him. He is the new Han Solo; the new scoundrel you can depend on. His personal life is a mess, but he does not lose, and he does not fail his friends in the end. My new favorite character!
I like the contrast of Syril in episode 3, after his attempt to arrest Andor, and this episode. Last time he was outwitted and indecisive which lead to him being in shock, this time not only was decisive but saved Deedra from the crowd, he jumped into action.
Best SW product since Empire. Just incredible. The scene where Brasso replays Maarva's message to Cassian is so moving. From the way they embraced, you could feel the sorrow, the anguish, and the love they felt for Maarva and for each other. Then related what Maarva said, how he told Cassian, the way they both felt her words. That was some real $hit right there. This series has had some awesome monologues and here's how I rank them from 1-5 - Luthen: Sacrifice; Maarva: I love him more than anything he could ever do wrong; Nemik: Try; Maarva: Fight The Empire; Kino: One Way Out
The Cast of Andor is incredible. And I feel like casting director Nina Gold deserves all the credit. She also cast Game of Thrones. Annihilation, and Chernobyl. (Plus other Star Wars movies including; Solo & Episodes VII, VIII, and IX.) She and her staff definitely have an eye for talent. And I love that they cast actors who they've worked with previously in different projects.
When you guys discussed how the Empire, Luthen, everyone is so focused on trying to find Andor that they don't even realize that the people of Ferrix will rise against them, I wonder if that's some sort of metacommentary from this show in general. Because this show seems to steer away from the traditional Star Wars notion of "the Chosen One" or the plucky Rebel pilot who's gonna come in at the last minute and save the day by blowing up the Death Star. It seems like it's sending the message that power comes not just from individuals, but collectives. It's the collective people of Ferrix that rise up against the Empire. It's the collective working of all the prisoners of Narkina 5 that free themselves.
Luthen just staring the carnage kind of gave me the vibes that it doesn't matter if who side you are, the people will rise and fight for their communities, even the Rebellion could be a victim of a revolt if they aren't careful, not everyone hated the Empire, there were worlds that benefited from them.
I just finished watching it and I’ve still got chills. What a finale. The best episode of the series just ahead of one way out. This show paid off in a major way. Star Wars should always strive for writing of this quality.
Masterful! That was an intense Finale. My jaw was literally dropped at certain parts, not just becuz of the action sequences but the literal actions and choices of the characters. The way all the archs were coming together was masterclass! Tony Gilroy way to F***ing FLEX on em! This is how you make content baby! 👏. I'm shook. I'm proud to say THIS IS STAR WARS!! It was a very refreshing thrill ride. Writing, acting, scoring, the framing and cinematography, the set designs all Top Tier S***... man 12 consistently longer than average (for a D+ series) episodes and every single one felt Top Tier. Best show on Disney Plus 💯
Appreciated the dig at theory. Noticed the death star at the end mirrors the show title sequence. And Bix mirrors the imperial polit in Rouge One as far someone who is tortured and effected by it.
Fascinating yin and Yang between the rebels and the empire. The rebels want Cass dead, the Empire wants him alive. I believe Luthens mind was changed about killing Cass by hearing Maarva’s speech.
Throughout this whole season I’ve been in awe of the depth and subtlety in this show, such as at 17:18 where it shows Luthen’s perspective of the riot, where the music cuts out and he only hears blaster fire and screams. I can’t overstate how blessed I feel as a Star Wars fan right now.
The show purposely makes Andor a quiet, more passive, yet facially emotive character so we experience the show through his eyes and they cement that with Maarva’s death that happens off scene so we both do not receive that closure. It is absolutely brilliant.
Damn I don't even have the words. I love that throughout this show, it wasn't about Cassian being the hero and saving everybody. It was about everyone who's been oppressed coming together and fighting for what's right. The prisoners of Narkina 5, the people of Ferrix. All coming together and "furthering the lines," as Nemik said. I was an ugly sobbing mess at three particular moments: Nemik's manifesto, Brasso telling Cassian about Maarva, the people of Ferrix fighting, and that incredible speech delivered by who else but Fiona Shaw. She delivered such a heartbreaking yet defiant and fierce performance. Between Shaw, Luna, Skarsgard, Serkis, and Reily, I HOPE this show gets acting noms because damn this cast is amazing. Writing nominations too.
At the end of this finale my emotions was so high I cried with joy on how the whole season is a masterpiece. I hope this show receive's all the awards they deserve. Congratulations to the showrunner Tony Gilroy and his team! Looking forward to season 2!
I can't believe that some people think this show is boring. Yeah it's a slow burn but some of these people have the attention span of an eight year old and the only thing that will make them happy is lightsaber go brrr and force go wrrr. I love the Jedi stuff as much as any Star Wars fan, but that's not the side of the galaxy we're learning about here.
So often we fans blow hot air up our own skirts, thinking we're so much better than all the rest because we _"get it."_ But in doing so, we're not much different than those who call us misogynist when we may actually have a valid criticism about a female character. We reformat the scenario in order to discount actual criticism, simply because somebody doesn't like something we like. So we say _"they don't get it,"_ or _"they don't have the attention span for it."_ How about we just acknowledge that out of the 8 billion people on this rock some will like something, and some simply won't?🤷🏼♂️ Are we so desperate for validation?
John gives the most beautiful breakdown of Andor I ever heard. Andor shows you that Hope isn't some external force that lifts you up. Andor shows you how much you have to put into Hope 🔥🔥
@@hypocriticalgrammarnazi to be fair magic and lightsabers are great to see. I just think that we need to see them in a different era. I would love to see the around 200 ABY with more Jedi, but in a completely new political situation.
When I tell you her speech made me tear up and cheer and want to fight the Empire alongside everyone too… This show needs more love from everyone. The cast and crew deserve it for all of their impeccable work this season.
What a brilliant end credit scene. This show is easily the most grounded Star Wars experience out there. Not sure if I prefer it to Mandalorian or not, they’re both so different from each other and fulfill different things that I enjoy from a show set in a galaxy far far away. I hope now that people can see this show as a complete season then the complaint about it being slow might go away a bit. I’m not convinced that the one-episode-a-week formula works for a show like this.
@@Wally-pu2hh Nar, man. Just from your 8 word sentence it's plain to see you don't have the intelligence and patience to enjoy such a magnificent series. Don't despair though, I'm sure there'll be lots of pew pew and 'somehow Darth Onanist returned' for you to clap like a seal to real soon.
I completely disagree about it not being a once a week show. I think it needed that, it's all about the tension, the build up, the slow but steady pressure adding and adding to Andor and the other characters around him. If it was a binged show then it would just be flash bang done and would take away that aspect. This isn't like say cobra kai where it's mainly about big fights and lots of stuff going on. It needed to be slow because that's the entire point, it's the feeling they want it to have.
It's much better per week so each episode can be discussed, appreciated, broken down, Easter eggs etc. If it was all at once much of that would be lost.
THAT reveal in the post credit scene was perfectly placed! Wouldn't fit inside of an episode, wouldn't feel right to have it in between scenes. Perfect solution to answer the question of what the prisoners were building in a post credit scene. As most/all of this show so far, masterfully written from beginning to end!
Andor has easily been the best Star Wars release since Disney took over. This is what Star Wars long form should look like. As awesome as Mandalorian season 1 was, it relied on the "flashy" Star Wars moments. Andor was storytelling at its finest. A+ work.
Holy shit that was amazing. Andor was fucking amazing the whole way throw. Oh my god I was so emotional and inspired. I can speak for only me but when Andors mom said that if she could wake up again “she would wake up early to fight again” I melted. I heard my grandmother who recently passed away. She was a very strong women and never gave up to the very end. It hit me bc it’s something that I can hear her say. Maybe I just needed to hear it that way but I loved this episode. All the praises to Tony Gilroy. I am truly moved and ready to wake up for rebellion. Next season can’t come soon enough
2 plans... good vs evil and neither played out because people had their own plan. There are people that say this series was too long but they're missing the connection to the story. I'm going to have such a HUGE hole in my spirit while I wait for season 2. This was the best, single season of television I've ever watched in 40 years.
Aye, not the Empire nor the Rebellion, these random people rose up, regardless of the side, Luthen watching the city gave me the "oh fuck" vibes from him.
This isn't just my favorite part of Disney star wars. This is probably my favorite movie/show star wars as a whole. (I binge watched all the older movies and cartoons so ig i dont have as much attachment to them as some of you might have.)
It seems to me that every final "arc" of a different storyline always pops off and is amazing! Episode 3, 6, 10 and 12 have all been bangers! 10 is still my favorite! One way out!
I love him more than he could ever do wrong." Superb to the last beat! Everyone got some losses and gains. Loved Nemik's speech and Marva'a speech. Also touxhibg scene with Brasso and Cassian relaying her message.
As always, this was a well thought out and enthusiastic reaction! Great job! Easily the best Star Wars show we've had, and I love Mandalorian, but the writing, score, cinematography, direction and acting have been BRILLIANT! Going to be a long wait for S2, but I know it's going to be worth the emotional wait! CLIMB!!
Wow! Just wow! This was definitely my favorite episode in the show. I loved everything about it. This episode was just so amazing. I feel like everything in this was just so perfect, the writing, the emotion, the build up, the acting and the music. Not to mention how tense it became, especially towards the end of the funeral procession. I also loved all the symbolism throughout this episode. I loved that we got to see all of the main characters come together, one final time and be able to see how majority of their stories wrapped up. And I feel like like I can’t talk about this episode without talking about Maarva’s speech. Hearing how her voice and emotions shifted from sadness to uplifting while giving that great monologue was amazing and so beautiful. It was really able to sell me on her defiance against the Empire and on the things she was trying to achieve. I loved everything about the funeral scene, whether it be the music, the importance or the look of all the citizens coming together, it all just felt so great. And the fight between the people of Ferrix and the Imperials was so awesome. Not only was it really action packed but it was also super chaotic which I feel like was the perfect tone for what was going on. And that Post Credits Scene was so crazy on so many different levels it was incredible. I feel like there is still so much I could talk about for this episode let alone this entire show. This was definitely one of the best Star Wars shows and I’m so glad that I have been able to watch all of it and been able to see your reactions and hear your thoughts on it and I can’t wait for Season 2 of Andor to watch your guys reactions to this fantastic show again.
Brah’s, dat final projection speech from Marva got me 😭 Not to mention everything else, what a way to end the first season of a two season series of a story we “already know the end of”. I can’t wait to see what happens next!
Every moment of this season was utilized well. The slowness of the first two episodes was needed to really grasp Ferrix life. And the payoff was this finale. So glad B2EMO survived and will be able to take care of Bix. I hope we can see the Rebel crew next season. Would be a great payoff for FPJ to play a live action Kanan and interact with Andor at least once.
The SWT call out - I’m dead😂😂😂 this is why I love u guys. Ya keep it a 100. This show had such amazing storytelling - I was stressed almost every episode. This finale was just 😍
Wow that was a finale I loved it.. looking forward to rewatching the whole thing in a binge !! That speech, the rebellion riot and that final scene of the Death Star me very happy. Love your reactions guys love ya xx
Found myself returning to this review. What an excellent breakdown of the finale and the season as a whole. Remarkable story telling they managed to pull off with Andor. Just a fantastic show.
As I predicted..... Cassian went back to Ferrix, but not for the funeral. He went back for Bix. Marva pronouncement lignited the fires of rebellion against the Empire. The Imperial forces were over confident and underestimated the Daughter's of Ferrix. Cassian knows how the Empire thinks. They were so busy flexing their show of might, that Cassian easily slipped through their cracks and liberated the fish' they had caught already. Because of the chaos, Luthen knew there was no way they would find Cassian, ev n if they did see him. He knows Ferrix too well for them and the empire. When Cassian showed up on Luthen ship defenseless; having traversed through all the chaos, Luthen knew that The Rebellion needs Cassian Andor ....ALIVE.
I wonder if we'll see Galen Erso next season, its not far fetched since the guy was vital in the construction of the death star and we could actually see why, besides it would be just great having Mads Mikkelsen in a show like this with a more extended role
I’m convinced that K2 is B2’s consciousness & program transferred in szn 2! Their speech cadences are similar and I can see him being more confident with his stutter removed and having a more capable humanoid body
Stroke of brilliance by Mon! He wasn’t gambling but his reaction would be real for the snooping driver. It also makes him an ally to Mon again, because he has most likely cause issues for her before and while he may be an ass, he won’t be accused of that mistake again. So he said “name them!” vehemently… she was acting, he was not. Brillz, Mon!
The season finale of Andor is waaaay better than the finale of The Book of Boba Fett. I would even say it’s better than Season 1’s finale of The Mandolorian. Can’t wait for Season 2! What I like about Andor is that it fleshes out both the Empire’s oppression of the galaxy and how the Rebellion begins.
I have a feeling in season 2 Andor is going to end up on a mission to find out what they were building in the prison. That will eventually lead to his first scene in Rogue One. This season was amazing. I'm going to rewatch it immediately.
The Mon Mothma ending may be dark for her, but her daughter seemed very eager for this introduction. Not surprising since she’s been pulling away from her mother all season and is ready to grow up too fast. I do feel the slightest tinge of regret for Dedra having to explain to Partagaz that, not only did she not get Andor, but she lost the only person who could i.d. Axis. 😬
The English language has more than 400,000 words and is still somehow inadequate when it comes to properly praising this show. Incendiary television. The absolute pinnacle of Star Wars media.
Every character, every scene, every shot , everything from 11 eps pays off, and in ways you cannot predict. That is writing at the highest level. Every shot was framed like a masterpiece. If this doesn't win awards then they are being robbed.

I truly hope Disney cooperate officers don't abandon this show. I truly hope this show finds the path 24 did to stay alive. Such an honor and privelege to witness. Absolutely magnificent!
And I hope they do more serious projects like this.
They've started filming for next season. :)

Well there's only one more season to go and then they're ending it
@@Wally-pu2hhYou’re a pessimistic little shit, I can smell it
Wow. What a finale. Powerhouse performances from all involved, including Bee. Can’t imagine what they have planned for season 2.
Season 2 ? It needs to die now

@@Wally-pu2hh Why are you here then. Watching a reaction about Andor. Nice try to troll, but failed as always.
@@Wally-pu2hh already been confirmed before season 1 came out they ordered 24 episodes
@@hypocriticalgrammarnazi At times this has been better than Mando. Maybe a lot of times.
it's no contest for me, Andor is the best thing to ever happen to SW (including the OT)
“He will find us… Cassian will find us.”
I’m a diehard, but I have never cried at Star Wars until that moment!
I bet you that Syril was bricked the fuck up after saving Dedra life. All alone in that closet. Lmao
Man oh MAN that was fantastic, literally chills during the funeral scene
7:07 LMAO that Star Wars Theory mention had me dying
The Death Star at the end is wow!
I had missed it. Then I read your comment.
This show is rebellion
Luthen just staring the carnage kind of gave me the vibes that it doesn't matter if who side you are, the people will rise and fight for their communities, even the Rebellion could be a victim of a revolt if they aren't careful, not everyone hated the Empire, there were worlds that benefited from them.
Exactly, they avoided the temptation to make Cassian the Big Damn Hero and let Brasso and the others lead themselves
I love how, even in death, Maarva fought. She was literally the brick that started the riot and I feel like that is just how she wanted it.
I just finished watching it and I’ve still got chills. What a finale. The best episode of the series just ahead of one way out. This show paid off in a major way. Star Wars should always strive for writing of this quality.
Tbh, EVERY show with gravitas should aim for this standard. This series has been, as others have said, an absolute masterpiece.
And now I need a 2nd season of this show, and I didn't even go into this show knowing I'd need that.
Appreciated the dig at theory. Noticed the death star at the end mirrors the show title sequence. And Bix mirrors the imperial polit in Rouge One as far someone who is tortured and effected by it.
What part in the video?
Fascinating yin and Yang between the rebels and the empire. The rebels want Cass dead, the Empire wants him alive. I believe Luthens mind was changed about killing Cass by hearing Maarva’s speech.
Throughout this whole season I’ve been in awe of the depth and subtlety in this show, such as at 17:18 where it shows Luthen’s perspective of the riot, where the music cuts out and he only hears blaster fire and screams. I can’t overstate how blessed I feel as a Star Wars fan right now.
21:04 - Seems like there is a glitch in the matrix with one cat walking by and afterwards another one walking by in the background... 😆

@@pigriderstarwatcher9217 thanks, how did I miss that?
The show purposely makes Andor a quiet, more passive, yet facially emotive character so we experience the show through his eyes and they cement that with Maarva’s death that happens off scene so we both do not receive that closure. It is absolutely brilliant.
That scene with marva giving her posthumous message gave me chills cannot wait to see what this great show has instore for season 2!
THAT POST CREDIT SCENE 🫡
I missed it because i have to leave....i saw it now Here..but this Episode i had tears in my eyes and goespumps
That Star Wars Theory Joke was Golden. Love it!
I agree completely. Had to unsub after his review of this show since he complained about the use of red bricks as a building material...
That star wars theory is falling asleep line made my day LOL.
They grew up on the 15 seconds of fame mentality. They can’t appreciate it. Some do, like me.
And yet people like Star Wars Theory will say this finale is disappointing just because they were expecting Boba Fett to appear in this (LITERALLY😭💀)
@@jamesbuchananbarnesss I know right. They need everyone linked to Skywalker or Palpatine in some convoluted way.
So we say _"they don't get it,"_ or _"they don't have the attention span for it."_ How about we just acknowledge that out of the 8 billion people on this rock some will like something, and some simply won't?🤷🏼♂️
Are we so desperate for validation?
but no easter eggs every 2 seconds 😢
John gives the most beautiful breakdown of Andor I ever heard. Andor shows you that Hope isn't some external force that lifts you up. Andor shows you how much you have to put into Hope 🔥🔥
No Jedi. No Force.
Just your Average Joe’s taking on the system. I love it.
but the star wars man children need magic, laser swords, and easter eggs
@@hypocriticalgrammarnazi I don't mind some tame ees, like the cannibalized Y-Wing and such, but yeah, not everything needs it
@@hypocriticalgrammarnazi to be fair magic and lightsabers are great to see. I just think that we need to see them in a different era. I would love to see the around 200 ABY with more Jedi, but in a completely new political situation.
I mean the Jedi didn’t start this rebellion against the Empire. It was normal people that kept it going way before Luke lost his family.
i hope they stick with that end group of characters because wow do they all have a good backstory and motivations
Brasso is one of my favorite characters in the show. Total good guy...and in a fight he's a goddamned BEAST.
When I tell you her speech made me tear up and cheer and want to fight the Empire alongside everyone too…
This show needs more love from everyone.
I’m not convinced that the one-episode-a-week formula works for a show like this.
drop it all and let us binge, damn it!
It's too slow even the finale is trash
Mannnn. Prior to andor I thought Mandalorian was the best series but ohh boy. Andor is by far the best series
Brasso absolutely merking an imperial with the haunted Maarva brick then just screaming was peak Star Wars for me
Maarva's speech and the people's reaction to it showed Luthen that it had begun. I think that's why he gave Cassian the look at the end.
Damn that SWT burn mid-reaction though
Edit: also i think it’s hilarious how your cat runs into frame right before a cut
2 plans... good vs evil and neither played out because people had their own plan.
I love how the stormtroopers are actually effective at their job. Like their better than the imperial army troopers. It's nice to see them appreciated
This isn't just my favorite part of Disney star wars. This is probably my favorite movie/show star wars as a whole. (I binge watched all the older movies and cartoons so ig i dont have as much attachment to them as some of you might have.)
Loved every moment of this series! Felt every beat , chills with Marvas speech ! Reminiscent of Mon’s & Saws in Rebels !
This was a great finale, the performances were amazing, can’t wait for season 2
It seems to me that every final "arc" of a different storyline always pops off and is amazing! Episode 3, 6, 10 and 12 have all been bangers! 10 is still my favorite! One way out!
I love him more than he could ever do wrong."
Superb to the last beat! Everyone got some losses and gains. Loved Nemik's speech and Marva'a speech. Also touxhibg scene with Brasso and Cassian relaying her message.
Mon Mothma with the great mindset, Andor's Mother speech, the post credit scene, what a perfect finale, holy shit I can't explain how happy I am.
This series will age well. Really, masterfully written.
CLIMB!!
One came to question, One came to kill. Cinta doesn't fuck around.
Wow!
Incredible episode but Greg’s “What is that?” after the post credit scene absolutely sent me.
I like the cat patrolling in the background
The SWT call out - I’m dead😂😂😂 this is why I love u guys. Ya keep it a 100. This show had such amazing storytelling - I was stressed almost every episode. This finale was just 😍
The post credit scene... so short but my god. He helped build it, and then helped destroy it *mind blown*
What a finale!! (Now we wait 😭) So much fun rewatching with you guys, thanks 😆
But no excessive, over-bloated action sequences with easter eggs 😡
I laughed at that Star Wars Theory crack. That dude’s take on Andor was just ridiculous
I’m ready to binge the whole thing now
The death star in the post credit scene was epic...I loved this show..
Holy crap, how many times did that cat walked behind you? Felt like I witnessed many glitches in the matrix 😅
You do know the background is green screen and the cat is just in the video being displayed on it ? Don’t you?
Haha joking
Or am I?
Incredible finale. Honestly, some of the best TV I have watched... maybe ever?
That hologram was that kid's dad, the guy who kept the radio to contact Luthen. The Imperials hanged him.
Every character, every scene, every shot , everything from 11 eps pays off, and in ways you cannot predict.
That is writing at the highest level. Every shot was framed like a masterpiece.
If this doesn't win awards then they are being robbed.
I mean they gotta compete with House of the Dragon. Andor is good it’s not that good
