I am a scientist. I love my job, but I feel trapped. I am already leaving in Asia, which is not my home country. So I feel also lonely some times. People you meet, come and go. So I am already used to adapt and feeling rootless. But I wonder what kind of job I could do, that allows me to be free..
Hi Joose, writing from the Ko Phangan. This place is great! I love it here, thank you for these tips. I will be going to Bali in 3 days, but I was wondering if Java would be a better choice since Bali is kinda of crowded?
8:04 Babakan area? Happy to hear about your progress. I have followed your journey from the beginning. Hopefully we can meet sometime in Bali. Coming there for sure as a digital nomad in 2024.
Kiitos videosta. Se antaa uskoa, että muutos on mahdollinen. 55-vuotiaana mietin, joko uskaltaisin hypätä oravanpyörästä ja lähteä tutkimaan maailmaa. Aasialainen vaimoni on paljon kehunut Kaakkois-Aasiaa.
Just subscribed. Cool Channel. I am also a DN living in Mexico and Colombia. Moving to SEA in 5 Days. where did you meet your GF. I am looking for a travel companion. Is she from Bali? Your videos have a good flow. Nice work man.
Who in their right fucking mind would move to Bali? So much traffic, it’s filthy, it stinks. Yea, it’s nice but the negatives out way the positives. 3-4 weeks in Bali a year for me is enough.
nice video, you seem like a great guy. when you talk about feeling stressed or uncertain about living in bali what do you mean? is it bali itself like the traffic or something else? i've moved from my birth city to another one (although in the same country - australia) and now moved back but i feel really unsettled now, like theres so much more out there in the world. i travelled overseas twice last year and loved it, but i'm always bored within a month coming back home. thinking about giving Bali a try for a month next year and working remotely. i can't ride a scooter though so hoping i can get a place walking distance from the beach. maybe some other countries too. any other remote working spots you recommend?
Thanks so much! Mostly stress from work and making money.. also from relatilnships sometimes. Nice I'd definitely recommend trying Bali for a lomger stay! Also I like Koh Phanagan, Siargao, and Da Nang a lot! Next video will be about my tip 5 destinations for digital nomads actually. But without a bike, maybe best options would be Uluwatu if you can stay close to beach and cafes in Padang Padang or Bingin. Or in Canggu center or Pererenan close to Echo beach! Good luck🙏🏽
@@JooseTheNomad ah yeah damn I get that. I've just got a full time job but they let us work remotely in another country for 3 months of the year. Relationships can be hard when you want to move around a lot too... kind of the curse of the adventurer spirit I guess. thanks mate, look forward to that video. Koh Phangan? interesting, i actually stayed on a little island in Thailand called 'Ko Ngai' for a couple of days this year at a cheap resort, that was beautiful - i was thinking it'd be amazing to work from there for awhile. The food was so good and there were 60 minute massages for $5! they're $100 locally where i live ha. Man Siargao and Da Nang look amazing too. A place like Koh Phangan and Siargao look like you could just go there and chill like a working holiday - i'm suprised they have good internet actually. But a place Da Nang or Bali I feel it would be busier and you'd probably get more lonely - how do you establish yourself in a place like that when you move? I'm pretty introverted. I saw in your videos you joined racquet ball games, I guess that would be a good way to socialise. I'd love to try surfing too.
@@markj6302 yea best thing is to travel with a partner🙊 hahahah yeah Asia is awesome! Yeah Canggu & Siargao are the easiest places to mert people in my opinion!
I moved to Japan six years ago and really love this country! I've experienced ups and downs, but I love being here and am thankful for so many things I have experienced while living here. I've gone through a lot of stress and difficult situations, but as you said, that has helped me grow a lot as a person. And I can now more understand this unique culture. I would recommend that everyone try to move to a different culture for some time, or longer, at least once to gain this kind of experience.
Hey man. Just conparing with Vietnam. Do you just go to expensive cafe and restaurants in Bali or is the price the same everywhere. $3.60 us for a coffee is probably the same price i pay for coffee back in Australia. Seems Bali is a bit overpriced however it is cool place
Hey Joose! So glad I’ve discovered your channel, your doing a fantastic job 👏 keep it up! I do have a question/topic, would love to know your honest opinion. What is the situation in Bali when it comes to oversized spiders, bugs and such. Being an exotic place, I can only imagine it’s packed with all sorts. However how often do you encounter them in your dwelling? I know they are mostly harmless but then again a crippling fear can definitely ruin a long term stay. Apologies for the ridiculous question, but I would really like to find out your thoughts on this. Many thanks! 🙏
Thank you! At least in Canggu it's not a problem especially if you stay upstairs and have a room that is sealed well. There's many islands in Southeast Asia where it's way worse :)
@@JooseTheNomad thanks for the quick reply, much appreciated! My wife and myself are aiming for Canggu area indeed, initially for a month or so. Found a good few accommodations that are not open plan so should help hopefully. Is it a common problem where doors have gaps and whatnot? Would dread to book in something for a whole month just to turn out to be a pain rather than enjoyable. Albeit we are fully conscious that it’s a “we” problem. Thank you 🙏
Takes time for the mind to understand how things have got better. You'll surely feel better month by month as the break-up stress etc. fades a bit :)). Keep up the good work!
Happy to find your channel! Natural and interesting life story :) inspired me a bit to start mine project here, as I arrived in Asia 8 months ago. Good luck!

Thank you for sharing your story. Honestly a lot of uni programs especially in the U.S are not worth the investment at all!
