That 'sucker punch' at 3:17 was the infamous Barry Hall (puncher) vs Brent Staker (punchee) knockout in 2008. Hall copped a 7 match suspension for it (though these days the penalty would be longer) and these days is a boxer
The rules are a lot stricter these days for "rough play", and rightly so. Many of the "old school" players are developing neurological problems, and appear like old boxers, punch drunk.
I don't think they could without having to "bleep" out so much profanity that nothing would be left to understand. Which sucks because I love his stuff 🤣
You should check out 50 Greatest Marks of All Time. That is when the players go airborne to get the ball and use each other for leverage. Very spectacular
actually very very few kos. most of these players got straight back up and continued to play. a few went to the bench to recover for a little while before rejoining the game
Unless a player is physically unable to walk, they need to walk off the field to get substituted when injured, no stoppage of play unless the stretcher is called for, which is rare. Fights are interesting, you don't see players standing around protecting a fallen teammate brawling, nobody would touch someone that's downed, the brawl is more for revenge.
I am 67 yr old Victorian may I say "a very well-established Beer drinker". Fosters was very popular in the '70s & '80s. I would reckon it to be one of the leading beers & had been so for many years. It was sold everywhere. In fact, CUB had a brewery In Brisbane Qld that produced Fosters. There was even a Fosters light. It was a Lager. It wasn't a bad drop at all. Melbourne Bitter I believe is the go nowadays though.
I was expecting to see the hit on big Jonno Brown when he copped a knee to the face and smashed his cheekbone. It's unusual for a player to be out of the whole game after some of these hits unless they have been knocked out. We don't even serve Fosters in Australia - it's produced for export only And we have free healthcare

Nobody drinks Fosters in Australia. No idea where that s**t came from. Btw Aussie Rules is brutal sometimes but you have to remember this doesn't happen in every game.
We play AFL at school for P.E. (Physical Education) as well as rugby league, Gaelic Football, etc when we are 12-17. We also do it for Saturday sport as well (just like U.S. boys playing NFL). It is something all boys do. I guess it is a case of toughening us up for if there is something that wants to kill us comes by....like a drop bear. You will find many pro AFL and Rugby players don't have many teeth, most get at least a top plate. As for Fosters, is was popular up until about late 80's...then we just exported it as most Fosters drinkers realised it was shit beer. Love the channel, would be great to see you watch more on the V8 Supercars, like the top crashes as well as the biggest race of the year, the Bathurst 1000. Watch the Darrell Waltrip hot lap and try not to laugh. Have a look at some of the stats of the circuit like the length, amount of corners, change in height from pit straight to "McPhillamy Park". It is a normal road most of the year and has a 60km/h speed limit. Nice drive, but your car may need to go into 1st gear in some spots to drive around it
Fosters Lager was still around & going strong in the '80s. Trust me I drank plenty of it. They also produced a Fosters light. CUB also made a brew called "Diet Ale" as well. We were convinced it was the best thing for Diabetic's to drink & that's fairdinkum. Cheers
I was lucky enough to attend a Swans game back in 2012 against North Melbourne. Swans ended up winning the Grand Final that year, but the North Melbourne game wasn't so lucky. Gary Rohan scored the first goal of the match, but then had his ankle broken in a really gruesome injury. Even if you're curious, don't look at the slow-mo replay.
Aussies don't drink, advertise or even sell Fosters. I wish one of our celebrities would bring that up over there - like the shrimp on the barbie BS- what the hell even is that? Our animals do want to kill us though - that's %100 spot on.
Would need...a hard drink...after those hits. Which we call bumps...or kind of like blockers or blocking. This is when you can help your team mate/team player...by bumping/taking out a player trying to get him(only in you are as near as so many feet or metres near your team player). If you bump or take out players too far away from where the player closest to the ball is...you can give the other side or team a free kick...or free restart their way they are going

I personally think Rugby fans are basically just jealous of AFL because whether they like to admit it or not AFL just IS the nation's most popular sport and is a far greater spectator sport than Rugby.
