In 1971, at the Dominican Republic, a musical group with the name of Barroco 21 was formed by Michael Camilo, a later on worldwide known Jazz pianist, the name of the group was taken by the classic music from composers from the Barroque period, and the 21, by the numbers of members. Michael arranged classical pieces from Bach, Vivaldi, Haydin, Mendehlson, and Bethoven, mixing classic Witherspoon Jazz. Ekseption was an inspiration for the group from the beginning. I was the bass player. I am sorry that the sax player from Ekseption Just died Last March. Good people goes too fast too early. Half of our musician died very young long time ago. That is life. Enjoy life. Enjoy good music.
Was a fascinating early branch of fusion jazz. Rick van der Linden died allready in 2006. Trumpet player Rein van den Broek in 2015. His father, Rinus, was trumpet player in the dutch bigband The Skymasters. My father was also in that band. greetings.

Your dad joined with the Trinity album, it looks like, since Dick Remelink is credited with the reeds and flute parts in Ekseption 5 - so, is he in the video? Rick, and now your dad: I wonder how many others we've lost? My condolences to you.

Mijn moeder maakte nog boterhammen ...😂 ze hebben nog een uurtje of 2 gespeeld op mijn Vader’s Hammond ! Ik was toen 13 ... Nu 63 ... de golden age of Nederlandse muziek ... aardige lui ..hebben altijd een speciale plaats in hart gehad ! Je kunt trots zijn op je Pa ! Fijne rustige vent !

This is a fantastic video. So much good music and fun stuff with Ekseption. I have heard all these songs. My eldest brother bought some of their records in the beginning of the 70's, and the record player was in our living room, so I was listening a lot to Ekseption. When I grew up, I also bought some records, and I lent some from others. Ekseption have been following me my whole life, and I still listening to them.
OMG I JUST FOUND AN LP OF THIS BAND. The Best of Ekseption - ekseptional classics was in a box in my attic with my lost (and found) uriah heep's Demons and Wizards!!!

Together with the band SKY surely the best classic AOR band of the seventies. There is only one band that was better...FOCUS! All musicians in that genre are incredible! It looks as if they spitting out all the notes easily but what a lot of work & effort it needs to make such music is widely underappreciated. Some older people called it noise,others simply were saying this is pop for teens. Today unimaginable that they were NOT accepted for what they are... musical geniuses! With mind-blowing talent. Still have some albums of the mentioned bands. Pearls, indeed!🤷🏼♂️❤🎉😊🥐🍯😂

Ne pas oublier que les nombreuses compositions de Rick sont de haut niveau, en solo, avec d'autres grands musiciens ou orchestre symphonique. Il serait temps, effectivement que le monde (sans exagérer) le reconnaisse.
Wilde guess: If I remember correctly it was filmed in Israel, Shalev is an Israeli name, ao he (if he is that old) or his father/mother/brither ect. Saved a copy of it and he found it in the attic and posted it

Un bémol ( si je puis dire), tu n' as pas le droit de dire que Focus est le meilleur. Car pour moi c'est Ekseption. Ils sont tellement excellents qu'on ne peut avoir qu'une sensibilité propre plus forte à l' égard de l' un par rapport à l' autre. Tu comprends ?
