I have this song on a album I bought when Slim was in Hopewell Va with other groups back in the early eighties those gospel shows just don't come to my area anymore
That is so right Willie I agree they don't make music like that anymore everything is like thrown together now back then they put their heart into what ever they've done
hahahaha. i knew this song was based on a secular feel/style when I was a lil boy,,..but it wasn't until now I realized where this music came from. HAHAHAHAH. that Slim and Sugar. lmbo. You know I'm gonna almost say that Bishop Paul S Morton or his songwriter were influence by this for the Let it Rain hit Not a long shot. . Ok, yeah yeah yeah.. Purple Rain , Games People Play whats the difference... Bishop Morton says just about the same thing to his guitar player that Slim says to his during the solos..hahahahaha. Doesnt matter.. 2 #1 hits done by 2 #1 artists. You can't beat it.....
They just don't make songs like this no more. These songs make you appreciate a life with conviction for Christ
Amen.
Gospel Nostalgia and good
My dad used to listen to this all of the when I was a little girl growing up in the 80s. It was in my spirit and I had to listen!!!
Wow...I was 6 years old, and I still remember this song playing on Sundays before Sunday school.
Wow! One of the first guitar solo lines lines that learned in the early 80's!
I have all of their albums, but probably won't upload any more by them for a while. I have other projects I need to work on.
🎵All you old men, lookin like a squirrel 🎵that lyric all ways tripped me out😂😂😂🤣😂
Hahaha!!! Then he told the guitar player.."SQUEEZE IT BOY!!!!!'
Im too through! My brother sent this to me today...what a classic! Totally relevant today!!!
