This going to be a VERY different Batman from what we're used to. We're used to someone who's either been a veteran at his work, like Batfleck's Batman, an origin story that then spans across years being a vigilante like Bale Batman, and someone in his prime like Conroy Batman. THIS Batman is going to be in his 30s, it's going to be around his 2nd year of being Batman, so it'll be SUPER fascinating seeing that type of young sort of inexperienced Batman on the silver screen. This way we'll get to see Bruce's intelligence really shine in this film as a great detective.
@OligarchySlayer He has but they changed that in 1940. I like the change. It shows that Batman doesn't NEED those things to do harm-he's smart and clever enough to know when to do real damage when interrogating and when to just scare people. Not to mention, the no killing thing was completely signed off with an A OKAY by Batman’s co-creators, Bill Finger, without whom Batman as we know him would never have existed in the first place. Not to mention, that people seem to have a misconception that Batman in his early proto days was like the Punisher, but no, from May 1939 to May 1940, the Dark Knight was depicted with a gun in only five of his sixteen stories, and only one of those stories featured him shooting people.
OligarchySlayer the whole point is, that was meant to be completely left behind, I know he killed but it wasn’t long after before they obviously regretted it. I mean the whole point is, if he kills then he is no longer above the joker and all other villains, that’s what separates him.
This is majestic. Can't wait for this movie, I think that having the Riddler as main villain was a perfect idea.. considering that Bruce is still in the process of learning how to become the "World's Greatest Detective" during his 2nd year as the Batman, what proper villain can test his intellect and drive him nuts with crazy mind games.. if it isn't Nygma himself? I'm so hyped, we'll finally have a serious and dark Riddler on the big screen

I remember watching Batman: The Animated Series when I was kid, the intro had the same music as the small bit played at 2:49. It made this whole song even better.
You have to make it lighter at some point. I just hope that this version can spawn 6-7 movies so that we can get dark movies -> coming to light and less dark (through robin) -> Robin's death -> then ultra dark in Dark knight returns.
Just saw it yesterday!! My mind is on overload! Such a powerful movie with fantastic action scenes/psychological horror element/suspense thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time and the soundtrack was amazing!!

Watched the movie last night. Batman x Nirvana, is it the best thing to ever happen in the history of the universe? Nirvana being one of my most favourite bands of all time and batman being my most favourite superhero ever, this gave me goosebumps. Batman and nirvana go so well together oh my God
Robert is actually a great actor. When people saw that he was given the main role in this film they were so mad, just like bunch of haters who judged the actor only for one film. But I actually got pretty excited about this news cause I always knew that Robert is so talented, he just needed a good role. And finally he got it! But not just an ordinary one, he got to play one of the most popular comics heroes - Batman! I'm so excited about that cause he looks freaking awesome in this costume and in this role in general. He suits perfectly for it!
Agree. Robert has had so many good roles by now and he’s already proven that he’s a good actor. Including in one of the best films ever which is The Lighthouse.

Robert will nail this role, I swear to god. I feel like Battinson is just like Heath Ledger. Type casted as a certain role that no one would want in a superhero movie... next thing you know, ta-da. The movie was awesome despite the very few flaws (that were hugely overshadowed), and ofc Robert Pattinson and Paul Dano stole the show.
Actually Pattinson has done an amazing body of work other than the twilight series, check out his movies. Its just that the mainstream audience only watches large blockbusters and are unaware of this. Most of his roles have been dark and edgy so this is not a major leap for him ( except for the challenge of achieving the physicality of Batman, Bale failed at this !).
Imagine if he had lived. He would be some drunk fat loser on VH1 rambling about how he used top be young and cool. The truth is he will forever be young and cool.

I saw it yesterday and its a masterpiece! The best superhero movie of all time! They nailed it! Its gritty and raw and has a "real" element to it! The actors were superb! This is what a movie should be! People are going to watch this for Generations to come! 10 out of 10! Its in my top 50 movies of all time!
@Jay Joaquin's Joker wouldn't be a mastermind, but I think he'd be feared for being a complete cannonball and not loyal to any rule or authority. Also, if you watch the Murray interview he actually makes some clever points about morality and how it is subjective like comedy, basically making some nihilistic points. He's not a Heath Ledger type mastermind but I feel he could definitely get into a young Batman's head and make him question the nature of good and morality. All you need is his Joker to cause chaos physically (he's already shown he can do that) and cause conflict in Batman's thinking. He doesn't need to be a genius to do that, so I think it could work.

I've been in and out of a bad mood lately and when I first saw the trailer, when I first heard this song, I think my feelings were expressed in something concrete, by someone who died before I was born. Hearing Kurt word out my thoughts and emotions helps me grapple with them. This song means something to me. And your version of it...I don't even know what it is. It returns the concrete slightly back to the abstract. And that's powerful.

Having seen the film twice, I can easily say it's the best since Tim Burton's Batman, and on par with Christopher Nolan's, maybe better. They got the character's darkness perfectly, finally! Christopher's Batman was great, a return to the darkness but in hindsight isn't dark enough. Robert Pattinson's Batman is perfect; traumatized, angry, vindictive, nihilist. The way he organically gets into the character, and doesn't allow too much of Bruce Wayne to get in the way makes for a much more precise analysis of the character. Batman is the true nature of Bruce Wayne.

@@mellmellody To me Bruce Wayne IS the mask and batman is who he really is at the start of the movie, but as it goes on, he starts to heal and be more and more like Bruce. He doesnt bury his feelings in violence and hunting anymore but instead on becoming a brief ray of light for the people. So yeah he's not nihilistic at all imo, cus his condition at the start of the movie wasnt based on convictions, it was how he was at his lowest, retribution n vengeance in his fists.

I think it might turn out to be my favourite batman film of all time although i'm trying not to get my hopes up too high. the TDK trilogy batman never struck me as much resembling *my* batman (though I love those films) so i'm really hoping this will
@@isaacwright8211 there is no 100% definitive, because aside from his inherent values and the brooding darkness, Batman had been changing constantly over the decades. Whether in comics or adaptation he's subtely but noticably shaped different to match other cast memebers or the times, like rest of the comic book characters. Batfleck was the closest we got in terms of looks, and he was wasted by WBDC. Even as much as I look forward to Pattinson's incarnation (which also holds true to this core aspect of Batman), don't you sometimes feel he looks a bit too clean cut compared to all the other incarnations? Like he could've been Nightwing promoted to Batman for this story, and that too would've worked more than being Bruce Wayne himself.

The bat symbol is made from the gun that killed his parents.The song says there's "SOMETHING IN THE WAY",which indicates that his parents death are in the way of him feeling happy and filling him with rage and vengeance and forcing him to become a symbol bigger than himself.A DARK KNIGHT
So.... last night I watched this movie.... for the second time... on IMAX... and I was smiling the whole time. My man, Robert finally got the recognition he deserves. I mean, yeah Twilight was cringe but I was done getting shamed for liking it because it was a fantasy and I loved it for its flaws and shit. And people hating on Robert for Edward even more than 10 years after that was really unfair. I remembered when he was first announced to be Batman, the comment section was so angry. Well, it's nice to see people eat up their words.
The best trailer music ever..so epic and nostalgic using Nirvana sombre song and creative. the movie executive or anyone who gave this idea deserves a really high raise in their pay.. and nice touch combining with the classic batman movie intro song.
Samuel Kim, I love what you do for our heroes. You combine their history of music to make a magnificent opus for each hero. This is a fan recognizing a true fan.
This feels different than just a cover. The way the Batman theme just lifts itself out of one of the most amazing and melancholy Nirvana songs ever and becomes it's own chilling thing entirely... How did they get everything so right with this film?

I think I listened to this song about 1mil times when it was finally released.... here we go again. You can just feel Kurt's emotion bleed through this work of art, you've made it even more relevant to The Batman. Excellent!
I didn’t think Robert would make a good batman first if all but after watching the trailer my god I have been more excited for this batman than any other
I keep coming back to this trailer because the mix of Batman and Nirvana was absolutely brilliant. I was 9 yrs old when Nevermind came out. Nirvana was huge when I was in middle school. They changed a generation. The way we thought, talked, and dressed changed. I was born in 1983. I came into my own in the 90's though. Nirvana and Alice n Chains were two of my favorite bands, and they still are. Anytime I need an escape from being an adult all I have to do is throw in my Nirvana or Alice n Chains and I instantly get transported to a different time when things were simpler. This isn't just music....It's a way of life. I believe music like this is more relevant today than ever. With all of the hate, intolerance, and Prejudicedness. The crazy in your face media, constant bad news, political in fighting, and life just coming at you at the speed of light...It's good to sit back and listen to songs like Something in the way and just chill. Take a deep breath. Accept everyone for who they are. To know every life is special and has something to offer. To understand that we're all on this big rock together. As soon as we realize that it isn't hate that's separating all of us... It's fear. The sooner we understand that and start reaching out our hands to help instead of reaching out to point a finger we aren't going to accomplish anything worthwhile. Until we do that...well....there's always going to be something in OUR way.
It ONLY TOOK Robert one Film to give us the Batman we want and deserve...This is the Batman that Bale tried to deliver but his ludicrous voice got in the way...Maybe this will teach WB to trust the whole vision of the talented Directors that they hire...Matt Reeves nailed it...We all saw what Snyder delivered when he was left alone to complete his JL, would have loved to have seen Ayer's true cut of Suicide Squad before the WB idiots chopped it apart...Thank God they left Reeves alone and didn't chopped this Masterpiece apart...Just an Epic film, Can't wait for more of this Gotham...

The Gotham and its characters in this film seem ripped straight from the comics. This will easily be the best CBM of 2021. The soundtrack is also the best I have heard for any Batman trailer ( or movie ) and I hope thats the one they use for the film.

@Just Toha well the director said Batman would be “fighting for his soul” in this movie. Bruce finding out that his parents may have contributed to how corrupt Gotham is could very well flip how he sees the world on its head and break his will... in Theory any way. It will be interesting to see none the less.
Finally a damn good revision to a damn good song, this one being a lil bit more for those slightly darker days and thankfully this is not just another abysmal abomination that no-one asked for, and worst of all is they almost always slightly take just a little bit of the original songs unique essence as well as rapid build up of ear wax!

This going to be a VERY different Batman from what we're used to. We're used to someone who's either been a veteran at his work, like Batfleck's Batman, an origin story that then spans across years being a vigilante like Bale Batman, and someone in his prime like Conroy Batman. THIS Batman is going to be in his 30s, it's going to be around his 2nd year of being Batman, so it'll be SUPER fascinating seeing that type of young sort of inexperienced Batman on the silver screen. This way we'll get to see Bruce's intelligence really shine in this film as a great detective.
Following the comic books , he’d actually be younger! Which is even cooler.
Plus its with Riddler so its going to play in well with the detective part of him.

It shows that Batman doesn't NEED those things to do harm-he's smart and clever enough to know when to do real damage when interrogating and when to just scare people. Not to mention, the no killing thing was completely signed off with an A OKAY by Batman’s co-creators, Bill Finger, without whom Batman as we know him would never have existed in the first place. Not to mention, that people seem to have a misconception that Batman in his early proto days was like the Punisher, but no, from May 1939 to May 1940, the Dark Knight was depicted with a gun in only five of his sixteen stories, and only one of those stories featured him shooting people.
OligarchySlayer the whole point is, that was meant to be completely left behind, I know he killed but it wasn’t long after before they obviously regretted it. I mean the whole point is, if he kills then he is no longer above the joker and all other villains, that’s what separates him.

Robert is actually a great actor. When people saw that he was given the main role in this film they were so mad, just like bunch of haters who judged the actor only for one film. But I actually got pretty excited about this news cause I always knew that Robert is so talented, he just needed a good role. And finally he got it! But not just an ordinary one, he got to play one of the most popular comics heroes - Batman! I'm so excited about that cause he looks freaking awesome in this costume and in this role in general. Actually Pattinson has done an amazing body of work other than the twilight series, check out his movies. Its just that the mainstream audience only watches large blockbusters and are unaware of this. Most of his roles have been dark and edgy so this is not a major leap for him ( except for the challenge of achieving the physicality of Batman, Bale failed at this !).

I saw it yesterday and its a masterpiece! The best superhero movie of all time! They nailed it! Its gritty and raw and has a "real" element to it! The actors were superb! This is what a movie should be! People are going to watch this for Generations to come! 10 out of 10! Its in my top 50 movies of all time!

@Jay Joaquin's Joker wouldn't be a mastermind, but I think he'd be feared for being a complete cannonball and not loyal to any rule or authority.
Also, if you watch the Murray interview he actually makes some clever points about morality and how it is subjective like comedy, basically making some nihilistic points. He's not a Heath Ledger type mastermind but I feel he could definitely get into a young Batman's head and make him question the nature of good and morality. All you need is his Joker to cause chaos physically (he's already shown he can do that) and cause conflict in Batman's thinking. He doesn't need to be a genius to do that, so I think it could work.

I've been in and out of a bad mood lately and when I first saw the trailer, when I first heard this song, I think my feelings were expressed in something concrete, by someone who died before I was born. Hearing Kurt word out my thoughts and emotions helps me grapple with them. This song means something to me. And your version of it...I don't even know what it is. It returns the concrete slightly back to the abstract. And that's powerful.

Having seen the film twice, I can easily say it's the best since Tim Burton's Batman, and on par with Christopher Nolan's, maybe better. They got the character's darkness perfectly, finally! Christopher's Batman was great, a return to the darkness but in hindsight isn't dark enough. Robert Pattinson's Batman is perfect; traumatized, angry, vindictive, nihilist. The way he organically gets into the character, and doesn't allow too much of Bruce Wayne to get in the way makes for a much more precise analysis of the character. Batman is the true nature of Bruce Wayne.

@@mellmellody To me Bruce Wayne IS the mask and batman is who he really is at the start of the movie, but as it goes on, he starts to heal and be more and more like Bruce. He doesnt bury his feelings in violence and hunting anymore but instead on becoming a brief ray of light for the people. So yeah he's not nihilistic at all imo, cus his condition at the start of the movie wasnt based on convictions, it was how he was at his lowest, retribution n vengeance in his fists.

@@isaacwright8211 there is no 100% definitive, because aside from his inherent values and the brooding darkness, Batman had been changing constantly over the decades. Whether in comics or adaptation he's subtely but noticably shaped different to match other cast memebers or the times, like rest of the comic book characters. Batfleck was the closest we got in terms of looks, and he was wasted by WBDC.
Even as much as I look forward to Pattinson's incarnation (which also holds true to this core aspect of Batman), don't you sometimes feel he looks a bit too clean cut compared to all the other incarnations? Like he could've been Nightwing promoted to Batman for this story, and that too would've worked more than being Bruce Wayne himself.

So.... last night I watched this movie.... for the second time... on IMAX... and I was smiling the whole time. My man, Robert finally got the recognition he deserves. I mean, yeah Twilight was cringe but I was done getting shamed for liking it because it was a fantasy and I loved it for its flaws and shit. And people hating on Robert for Edward even more than 10 years after that was really unfair. I remembered when he was first announced to be Batman, the comment section was so angry. Well, it's nice to see people eat up their words.
The best trailer music ever..so epic and nostalgic using Nirvana sombre song and creative. the movie executive or anyone who gave this idea deserves a really high raise in their pay.. and nice touch combining with the classic batman movie intro song.

I keep coming back to this trailer because the mix of Batman and Nirvana was absolutely brilliant. I was 9 yrs old when Nevermind came out. Nirvana was huge when I was in middle school. They changed a generation. The way we thought, talked, and dressed changed. I was born in 1983. I came into my own in the 90's though. Nirvana and Alice n Chains were two of my favorite bands, and they still are. Anytime I need an escape from being an adult all I have to do is throw in my Nirvana or Alice n Chains and I instantly get transported to a different time when things were simpler. This isn't just music....It's a way of life. I believe music like this is more relevant today than ever. With all of the hate, intolerance, and Prejudicedness. The crazy in your face media, constant bad news, political in fighting, and life just coming at you at the speed of light...It's good to sit back and listen to songs like Something in the way and just chill. Take a deep breath. Accept everyone for who they are. To know every life is special and has something to offer. To understand that we're all on this big rock together. As soon as we realize that it isn't hate that's separating all of us... It's fear. The sooner we understand that and start reaching out our hands to help instead of reaching out to point a finger we aren't going to accomplish anything worthwhile. Until we do that...well....there's always going to be something in OUR way.
It ONLY TOOK Robert one Film to give us the Batman we want and deserve...This is the Batman that Bale tried to deliver but his ludicrous voice got in the way...Maybe this will teach WB to trust the whole vision of the talented Directors that they hire...Matt Reeves nailed it...We all saw what Snyder delivered when he was left alone to complete his JL, would have loved to have seen Ayer's true cut of Suicide Squad before the WB idiots chopped it apart...Thank God they left Reeves alone and didn't chopped this Masterpiece apart...Just an Epic film, Can't wait for more of this Gotham...

The Gotham and its characters in this film seem ripped straight from the comics. This will easily be the best CBM of 2021. The soundtrack is also the best I have heard for any Batman trailer ( or movie ) and I hope thats the one they use for the film.

@Just Toha well the director said Batman would be “fighting for his soul” in this movie. Bruce finding out that his parents may have contributed to how corrupt Gotham is could very well flip how he sees the world on its head and break his will... in Theory any way. It will be interesting to see none the less.
