So yeah, there are still some good games, but the amount of good games that are released today, compared to 10 years ago, is way lower.

It's not dead. Quality entertainment is always short in supply in a universe that's filled with infinite boredom. They don't have a good team to make compelling single player games. Even if they did, talented developers have to deal with the overworked and stressed environment to churn out good games. This is on top of them hiring woke developers who are too busy being political activists instead of developing good games. It's no wonder they can't create quality games.

The only reason they're doing this is because of Sweet Baby Inc. They tried their scare tactics, it didn't work. Then they tried to follow up on that and it's not working either. That whole thing is sunk, this game outright proved that they're not only wrong, but they have no leverage. This is the nail in the coffin for that entire grift.

I'm a PC gamer for about 4 decades. I started single player, because there was nothing else back then. But I'm still single player, even with the MMOs I'm currently playing. If a game does not support full single player and forces teams on me, I either don't play the team parts or if I cannot bypass it, I'll quit the game completely.

I am becoming extremely concerned about these so called professional journalism or just people in general who have a so called agenda to address in the media. People were so much smarter when they were dumber.

i didn't even know the game had been "revealed" years ago. first time i saw it was i think a playstation event some months back and thought "hey that looks cool!" and its based off Journey to the West which is a timeless tale. definitely had me interested.

I am not surprised. This game is beautiful and Wu Kong is such a classic and unique character in literature. No amount of BS from the wokesters was going to change its success. It is really a lot Chinese players for now (I would say maybe 60%~70% of all players at the first 3 days game release).
So, Black Myth daily high point is around 2.2m~2.4m; low point is 0.24m~0.29m which is about 85%~90% drop (when players most have same daily life behavior which high point is right at 20:00~24:00 at east Asia).
A lot of others games is about 50% drop from top to bot (most players diverse to whole planet).
Second is to check the shape of wave, you can tell most player in Black Myth are from a main time zone(wave shape is simple compare to some games).
Check the shape of the wave from Black Myth and Elden Ring DLC; you will see the difference when a game have evenly players from all different country.
(Elden Ring has 3 pivot point in one day which corresponding to around evening time in Asia, Europe, and America)
Don't get me wrong, I love the game Black Myth.
But, put some critical thinking you will realize that 2.3m players record is not really how some people think it is.
However, Black Myth is still huge success even if not counting Chinese players; still will have at least maybe around 500k non-Chinese players world wild( PS. the game just only released 3 days so far).
This weekend it will rise even more.
Meanwhile Dustborn, a game made to DEI specs, has double digit player numbers.
I believe I have everything I need to know, thank you.
