What a score! I remember a few big storms down there where I went up to Skyline Blvd. down in the La Honda area where we would lean into the gale force winds atop big rocks overlooking the valley to the west and it was wild. I would never do that these days 😂that was for the early 20's stage of my life. I've been watching a lot of UA-cam of these same beaches you walked on and recognized those crab slayer snares right away. It would be awesome to have some of those crab snare legends come up to our neck of the woods to experience our terrain and the coastal beauty and vice versa. Be safe!
INCREDIBLE REPORTING ! MATT IS THE GOAT FOR REAL. LOVE YOU TWO. AND I LOVE THAT SHIRT...MY SON IS ADDICTED TO FISHING AND WOULD LOVE TO HAVE A SHIRT LIKE THAT. BE CAREFUL OUT THERE, MY FRIEND.
Thank you for your comment. Felt safe with people around first part of the video but when everyone disappeared. It kinda got sketchy when that gusts got up to 50+ mph.
Surprised to see you in Calif. You scored good!! Kens snares are high dollar but very well made. That area produced more salmon then I have ever seen from private boats this season so that salmon rig was also a good find. Ocean beach is a hot spot for the local crabbers and Matts always locates a lot of snares there on a minus tide walks. I'm up in the hills outside of Yosemite and the winds have been strong but the rain has been heavy, a lot of flooding going on right now. My friend and I don't plan of going crabbing until these storms pass and things calm down a bit.
Grew up here in SF. Yeah the weather has been treacherous. The rain is definitely needed in CA but hear you on delaying your travels to the coast. It was exciting for me to be out there cleaning up the beach a little and finding those snare treasures. Hope you stay safe during the storm. I know there were lots of power outages and floods.
@@BackFishing Thanks and keep the videos coming. You have a very relaxed way of speaking and it makes the shared experience very enjoyable to watch. You are blessed to have places where you can just scoop up the crab. 😎🦀
Haha you're crazy man! Sucks that it's been storming off and on for over a week now and you weren't able to fish! Been wanting to go crabbing but the conditions have been too bad!
Atmospheric river is what the news was saying. Ca needs the water. Most reservoir now 80 per cent full. Hope this amount of water translates into more fish spawning in the rivers.
@@BackFishing thanks for replying I have a Grunden rain jacket and in the process of looking for a rain pant. I do crabbing in northern CA where it rains a lot. Just need a pant that is 100% waterproof.
January 4th, Category 5 storm. You must have just missed me saying it on the video. Walked on two separate days Ocean beach from Playland(Cliff house) to Flyshacker (Zoo).
If your offer stands, I can meet you down south in a bit. I'm going to Tanforan area in the afternoon. Just email Imbackfishing@gmail.com if not I thank you for the offer.
Gracias
de nada mi amigo. El placer es mio.
@@BackFishingI really love your ch even better then these fancy UA-camrs I come and watch anytime I can see you

I have caught most of my crab on the same skull snare. They are awesome!
Was lucky to find them. Hope to see you on the beach someday.
@@BackFishing I would love that. Heading to Ocean Beach in SF tomorrow for low tide. Just hope the crab are still there after the storms.

Stay there
I've always wanted to come down there and try crab snaring.
Lots of places to crab here.
Rain and windy weather… no problem 😂😅
Being one with nature. 😁
I would love to try a crab Snare
Go on a minus low tide find some or try making your own. I have a "How to make crab snare video" on the channel. GL
There’s a workout that really blows 😂
The bikers were surprising the heck out of me.
Nice video. What camera do you use and what software do you use for editing?
What rain pants are you wearing and do you stay dry with those pants in?
Iphone 11 and Gopro 7 blk. Editing program is the free version of DaVinci Resolve. Let me know if that helps. Thank you for watching. Good luck.
Columbia sportwear Mountain hardware shell waterproof and pant. Does a decent job of keeping me dry.
