This book was one of my most anticipated books of last year, and I ended up giving it two stars. I really had to slog my way through it. I also felt that the two POV’s were disjointed and I didn’t like Gloria’s storyline. This was marketed as a horror and I personally thought it leaned more towards historical fiction, even with the inclusion of the “haints”.
I completely agree! I was stunned by how disconnected the whole story felt from the two separate perspectives. I'll have to try something else by Due in the future because so many people love her writing.

@@leighdanielle no. I own the ebook copy of it but just haven't gotten to it yet. I have only read 3 books by Wendy Webb but my favorite so far is The End of Temperance Dare. So if you end up liking those two then you should check it out 😉

I think you should try The Good House or My Soul to Keep by Due.
