Saboteur trampled by huntsman's horse during protest

- Police have launched an investigation after shocking footage emerged showing a saboteur being flattened when she was trampled by a horse during a hunt.
The female activist narrowly avoided serious injury after she was struck by the steed as a huntsman jumped over a metal fence in a farmer's field on Saturday (11 February).
The woman had been monitoring the Cottesmore Hunt in Whissendine, in Rutland, when the incident happened at around 1.45pm.
The huntsman can be seen approaching the padlocked gate on horseback and asking the hunt saboteur to move out of the way.
He tells her: “Please come out of the way so we can jump it. I am going to jump it. You’ll have to come out the way.”
But when the hunt saboteur doesn’t move, the horse proceeds to jump the fence and collides heavily with the woman causing her to fall to the ground.

Yeah even if i dont agree with the practice, or hate it and think its totally wrong …its not my place to stop someone doing whats legal where its legal …its a sort of dangerous “sport” (for lack of better term) if youre gonna get in between chances are you get trampled or shot …..🤷🏼♂️

It could be argued they were trying to prevent a crime since fox hunting is illegal in England.
That’s correct. It’s called an arrest. If you’re going to arrest (persons movement,) you’d better be a police officer, with due cause!

Hunter harassment
The only thing I find distressing is that the rider didn’t even turn his head, or turn around to check on the injured person.
when you put yourself in the way of a running horse then you will get hit.
Literally stepped into the path of the horse as it jumped, then claimed 'I was walking away'.
I'm guessing having her back to him constitutes walking away...
seems like both was trespassing in the first place.
She clearly WAS walking away. Unfortunately, she had her back turned to him (not a good idea), so she couldn't tell that they were on a collision course. As the one who had a full view, he should have been able to predict and avoid the collision, so yes, this actually IS the horseman's fault.
They don't call 'em libtards for nothing!

British politeness personified.

It's still assault. There are even some really old laws that deal with the use of a horse as a weapon. I wouldn't be surprised if he really regretted his decision down the line.
@Altair885 the sab threw herself in front of the horse when it was mid air. It would be thrown out off any court room.
@@johncurrie6693 He intended to put her in danger knowing it would likely cause injury or worse. That is a crime unquestionably. It would be no different if he had used a car, it's the intent not the method. But anyway, even if he got off a criminal case, she would have more than ample evidence to pursue it in a civil court.
And no, she didn't put herself in front of the horse on purpose. She had already turned around and started to walk away before he sent his horse over the gate! I'm not blind, I can see you know!

he jumped to the side of her, she walked into it while the horse is already mid jump.
People ought to mind their own damn business, and let others have their traditions and enjoy their lives as they see fit. Bravo to that man in the red jacket.
The person moved when the horse was committed to making the jump. Horses can't see what's right in front of them because their eyes are on the side of their head. Don't move in a situation like this!
To a horse, from 4 feet back the jump is no longer visible.
I disagree. A matter of timing, the time to move was when the guy stated clearly he was jumping that fence.
Sorry but I don't know where you get that from. Horses are basically prey animals, their eyes are on the side of their heads to give the 360 degree vision, of course they can see in front of themselves. Here's a suggestion, put an apple in your mouth and stand within biting distance of a horse, don't worry, it wont bite your face off because it won't be able to see you. God some people talk such utter horse shyte
See the above comment, you clearly have never seen a real horse, you know those great big things with four legs, one end bites and the other end shits. Try telling mine I don't have an apple in my hand right in front of its nose.@@susangreene9662
sweet idea, but sadly wrong horses can see right around their body except the tail area, which it why they get startled when you approach from behind.
Let's all pray for the horse's safety
decades ago our horse was clearly drugged with something. the property where we had our horses had no real security for them. the Gelding tried to mount the mare years after being together, she broke his leg is what we figured. The strange part of the story is how many times the vet had to inject him with the death drug before he even fell to the ground He was only a quarter horse and vet had the most confused look on her face after pumping him up twice with the death drug before he fell to the ground, and by the third time that she jabbed him he finally stopped breathing. three needles by a trained vet and about 50 minutes for him to die, and the totally confused look on the vets face leads me to believe my horse was drugged. seeing the other animals in our life that have been drugged leads me to believe that i am possibly right. not to mention the man with the black 2 door chevy truck was parked out front of the property where we kept our horses. and when i walked by after out horse was put down , tears still poring, his comment to me, so what's going on back there, gave him the skinny, then he replies, I hear horses are expensive to have.
🙏
And the hunters
my man has an ARMY
Saddest part is that someone finds stupidity acceptable......no one has the right to tell anyone how to live.... get a life for yourself
