  • The big day has finally arrived, I was able to start my 1972 Suzuki T500 Titan for the first time! Before starting this awesome vintage 2 stroke bike I needed to do a few more repairs including, clutch, carbs, and some electrical issues. It seems to run very well and I look forward to making more videos on this motorcycle, up next moving around on its own power! Many thanks to everyone watching my videos, and also facebook groups for all the helpful information you provide!

😄 Zen and the art of assembling carburetors. Pilot jet is the tiny jet. Air screw for low speed air metering is the screw you were putting into the idle screw. The cylinder that controls airflow is called a slide. How fun.

Ces videos, sur la T500, sont simples, explicatives et avec un très beau résultat. Bravo, merci beaucoup.

Congratulations - I am getting near the end of a T-350 restoration... the 4th one I have done... and I have done at least as many T-500/GT-500 restorations... in the end I only kept the 1968 T-500 and sold the rest of teh 500's (no need for duplicates). Hard to believe but when the T-500 first came out, it was the biggest baddest thing Suzuki made - the Hayabusa of its day! To that end, I have many of Suzuki's biggest and baddest in my collection - starting with my 1966 X-6, then my 1968 T-500, then my 1972 GT-750, then my 1979 GS-1000S, and few others including my actual 2003 (40th anniversary) Gen 1 Hayabusa! Cheers!

As a mechanical pygmy, whenever I’m confronted with anything mechanical it brings out the pessimist in me - and I don’t go anywhere near it! So I haven’t a clue what he’s talking about. But it’s really enjoyable (and somewhat humbling) listening to him - a real character with a great accent and SOH - and enviable mechanical knowledge and confidence. (I stumbled upon this video whilst doing a nostalgic search for videos about my first motorbike - a Suzuki Hustler - 250 cc - which I bought in 1973 when I was 19. It was SO kewl (‘gorgeous’ orange paintwork) that a policeman who pulled me over for speeding (here in Western Australia) offered to buy it from me - an offer I declined - before being sent on my way with a stern warning ... and an envious smile).

Never doubted it for a minute.! Loved this whole series. I thought it was an SNL skit at first. But seriously, appreciate your down to earth approach. Just pulled the motor out of my 76 gt500. These videos will be helpful and inspirational. Thanks.

The Suzuki Titan was a bad ass motorcycle. My favourite year was the 68 and if I found one I would restore it. The only downfall was they were so high performance that they prevented good sales for the Water Buffalo which was a higher tech bike with lots of room for aftermarket but wasn't near the value of the Titan. Then Suzook blew it by going to a Rotary which almost broke them.

.... here on the opposite side of the world we also use the term ‘thing a me bob’. I wonder if people over there also use the expressions ‘watcha me call it’ and ‘who dacky’?

Success! Was that .030 or .035 wire you set the slide stops to? LOL. I just had to ask. I had a peice of wire in my toolbox for just that purpose for years. Nice video and great narration. See you on the next one. Dave

@@kentuckyyankee Nope, I started messing with motorcycles in 1965 and repaired and built custom bikes through the 70's. I'm just an old guy who stuck his nose into a lot of mechanical things. Still do. It's a sickness worse than COVID 19 for some people. Keep up the interesting videos. It's nice to see those old bikes come back to life.

They work good but the wires are poor quality, so long as you route them so they are not in harms way they will be ok, one cylinder was running hotter than the other muffler was stopped up, found that out because of the guages.

Hey Benny, where did you find those damn carb boot manifold rubbers? Ive been looking EVERYWHERE! They're for vm32's, right? With 65mm center to center stud bolt distance? I'll die a happy man finding those.
