Duxbury MA- If the American flag hanging out in front of your house looks like it’s better days are behind it; you know, faded and torn in some spots, don’t throw it away! It turns out there is a protocol for disposing of that tattered old flag. We spoke with an expert on the proper method of getting rid of old glory and the method might surprise you.
I Pledge Allegiance, to the flag, of the United States of America. And to the Republic, for which it stands, on nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
for those of who do not know the pledge which is unfortunate
There is a reason they took that shit out of school you fuckin Goob... DO YA FUKIN RESEARCH YOU TOAD! BARK BARK @Music Mode
Great ceremony to do at home while teaching your children. This will be my 1st time doing so & think incorporating my 13yr old son in the ceremony would be perfect. 🇺🇸
For some reason tears rolled down my cheeks after 2:02 when the little flag was being folded.
That’s because you’re a true Patriot and you love your country!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
@@LA6616, Thanks.

Thank you.
Great video. Thanks. My current flag needs retired.
That’s is the correct way to dispose a flag
So I hang my flag on my front wall of my house, so I'm wondering if I need to say fly it at half staff , I wondering if there is something I can do to show respect when I see flags on poles at half, does anyone know if there is something special I can do?
Correct me if Im wrong, but isn't part of the ceremony cutting off the stars portion of the flag and burning them separately since they represent our nation's unity?
I did see something about that in another video
No. Per the video I saw that was done by a news channel and a Boy Scouts troop, you cut the stars away from the stripes to retire the flag by means of throwing it away. When you cut the stars away from the stripes it is no longer a flag and can be thrown away.
@@kimtaylor762 Correct (This is how i do my Small flag i hang on my porch on a small pole.) I also cut the stripes in strips.
You should if possible burry the ashes of the burned flag. Or you can place the unburned flag in a box and burry the box and flag. Do not forget to recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Also make sure your Flag NEVER touches the Ground before retiring your flag. GOD BLESS AMERICA
