Bought an 08 from my grandfather before he passed. 119k, but always garaged. No one had ever sat in the back seat. It's beautiful. My Sunday driver. You can't explain a car like this to someone who has never driven one from this era.
The generation of people who purchased those comfortable cars is quickly fading. Most younger people will never be able to appreciate the ride quality of a smooth cadillac deville or lincoln town car.
I bought a 2007 back in 2014 and I loved it! I was a social worker and put 100k on it and loved every mile doing it, My long trips on the road were so much more enjoyable because of this car. My version had a column shifter (nothing like popping a column shifter into gear) and had a sixth seat up front between the driver and passenger, one of the last cars to still have the feature. It sadly caught fire after an electrical issue and two Cadillacs later, I miss it every day!
We own a 2006 Cadillac DTS, and we love it; it's so roomy and comfortable, as my lady and I are a tall couple (I'm 6'1.5" and She's 5'7.5" - 5'10" with heels-). I particularly love that Northstar V8, it's as powerful as it comes; especially with Castrol Edge and Esso Supreme 91 or 93 Octane.
I have a 2010 DTS with 49,xxx miles. I love her. It's my second DTS. "Service Parking Assist" is lit on my car too. The wood steering wheel is my fave part. First video of i watched of CCV tv.thanks
After I get my truck and my atv I’m going to get a dts to drive back and forth to work so I can use my truck for hauling my atv or my travel trailer I’ll eventually get it’s a really nice car this video makes me like it even more it would make a very good daily driver
I travel 110miles a day round trip for work and this car handles amazing as a daily driver. Just make sure to change ur oil out every 3-4k miles and keep an eye on stabilitrak. The tire pressure sensors like to give out so use a mechanical pressure gauge to accurately measure it. Also keep an eye on your power steering pump they usually only last for about 80-120k miles unless really taken care of (mine has full service history records one owner no accidents and is on its way out at 140k miles)
yeah maybe if you've never driven a Cadillac before. its more like a non-turbo Volvo S80 than a Cadillac. welcome to the club, though, congrats on your first. don't be afraid to make your wreath pointy and your crest ornate and we all know the new stuff sucks
Nobody would recommend a used Cadillac to a 15 year old unless they were driving it in the woods. You pay premium for parts most people refuse to pay, and you just end up with a problem child for somebody else to fix.
I had a 2000 sts with the norstar back in 2009 I blew the motor at 124k miles bought it with only 80k miles wish I would of took more care of it but they are nice cars except when it hits 100k miles the check engine light comes on left and right common issues ignition plug ,valve cover gasket , oil pan gasket, idle air control valve , torque converter no freeway gear ⚙️ , air suspension, power steering pump leak , be prepared to spend thousands if you’re not a mechanic
It's not a concern for 2005+ cars. The most important thing is to not let them overheat, you kill the water pump. That then kills the cam and tensioner pulley. Heat on high in the drive thru and lightly tap the rpm to 1,000 every few seconds just enough to excite the water pump. This is a good choice if you can't find a good Crown Vic or Town Car. Even then, chances are they'll need a manifold or something that needs repair. These are good cars if you find one with a solid underbody and no hack repair jobs!
Damn is that true? Cause I was just looking into a 2006 with 83k for 7k , single owner, what should I do drive it and get the engine hot and then have the car lifted and look at the underside and check for leaks???
Midwest Cadillac Repair, Palatine, IL. They fix the head gaskets issue on older Northstars and reseals the engine, taking care of the oil leaks. Forever. 2001 Seville STS, head gaskets and engine resealed back in 2014, still running strong no overheats and no oil leaks. 2200 bucks. Still the same price in 2022.
I have an 02 Deville that developed severe oil leaks. Like follow my trail and see where I went bad. I also have an 08 DTS I have parked due to a water leak I have to deal with. That one has oil leaks starting. I plan on resealing it. I beat the living crap out of them. Especially the 02. I can vouch that they eat up the curves, in comfort. :-)
I had an 06 I loved it good v8 sound decent on gas smooth ride good looks. The trunk is WAY oversized(no Italian jokes) the rear seats should have much more room then they do my only complaint minus front motor mount and starter locations

That’s cause they are sold on chink mobiles
I'm 16 and just bought a 2006 DTS with the Luxury ii package! Drives smooth as can be. 300hp is plenty! Value for money is absolutely incredible.
Mine was the best car I’ve ever had in regards to comfortabillity and still had some power
@@johndalycombrink6687 I completely agree with you. Too bad most of the people our age were interested in civics or Evo’s

Exactly, any car can have engine problems. I love my Cadillac DTS. I'm looking forward to buying another one
2010 owner 115000 miles absolutely love it. Water on road plays havoc with tire sensor light aggravating but not a huge deal.

Good thing about the last generation of northstar is gm finally fixed all the problems that
Did they fix the problem in the 2007

That blue chip paint job with vogues is 💯 legit 👍

Have a 2007 dts and i smoke every single cars in the road with it everyday while playing slipknot music so loud lol
I do too. However, one day I took on a Durango with a Hemi. I thought my car was broken when he took off, and all I could see were taillights.

Man your a great salesman 👨💼 I sell cars too this just had me laughing inside .
The smoothness you described at :40 is exactly why the XLR-V and STS-V do not come with a traditional LS motor. 🎯🎯

Parts are normal prices if you work on these cars yourself. Mostly basic GM parts which are interchangeable between Buick and Chevy
u make me fell
great about northstar lol

Hi how many miles and how much? Did you have any issues with the engine I hear about oil leaks
I got 2005 rebuild DEVILLE for sale Houston Texas
Pain in the butt if you have to change the headlight lamp, bulbs. Over all a good car to drive smooth ride .
I want one so bad but it’s a shame the north star is notorious for head gasket issues.

It's the head bolts
I don't like how the driver seat doesn't go back all the way like in the older Cadillacs can't full stretch legs on long rides
Resurface the rotors not return clean Cadillac bro I drive a 2006 love it to death my wife drives a 2011 they are the most comfortable riding cars out
Why the plate next to the emblem rear
Because it’s not specific to this car, it’s a dealer plate dealers can slap on their cars. It’s a magnet with a plate on it
I have a 09 dts the battery is dead and it needs a tire
Mine is white pearl color
Cool story!
These use a newer NorthStar engines right ?
