This just confirms how important it is to get out and vote and get these extremist out of office! Not just in Florida, not just regarding the lgbt community, but for all communities that are being impacted. This has gotten absolutely ridiculous! People please get out and vote every chance you can!!! Love you guys ❤

I was born and raise in Florida. Over 30 years living in Florida. My entire family live in Florida. I got tired of the discrimination. I got tired of being one of the best and hardest worker but yet paid less than my white coworker. So I made a decision to leave Florida in search for better opportunities. I applied to a number of jobs out of state. The company I liked relocated me to Alabama. At that point-A voice in my head said, "You will never move back to Florida". That was kinda strange b/c I did in fact miss my family and I miss living in Florida. Within 1 year of living in Alabama, the company relocated me to LA for a new opportunity. I have been living in LA since. Yes, the housing and taxes are higher but Floridas cost of living is now damn near close to California. It's scary moving to a new state but experience is memorable. At this point-I will not move back to Florida. You and your family is welcome in LA.

Bruh, Cali is hemorrhaging residents to Florida and Texas and other conservative states. Unaddressed crime is OUTRAGEOUS in LA. You jumped out of the frying pan and into the damn fire, moving to Cali. L.A. in particular.

This is such a brave and powerful video. Thank you both for your "rant". We as a community have to speak up and shed light on the evil and hate being propagated in your state. I felt great sadness watching the hurt and disappointment on the faces of two such beautiful people. When Brian spoke of the fear in his heart for Alec making a simple two minute drive to Walmart it brought tears to my eyes. Stay strong. You guys are loved by more people than you even know. Keep spreading your love and kindness. Together as a community we will get through this. While in the storm, it is sometimes hard to remember the night is darkest just before dawn. ❤️🌈

Part of the reason this is happening is because Democrats didn't bother to Vote in the last Election. Over a Million+ Registered Democrats did NOT VOTE last November! They didn't like Charlie Crist as a choice so they didn't bother and now we are seeing the consequences of that.

First of all, you two make a beautiful couple.
My teenage years I lived in Sabal Park, Longwood, Orlando, Florida.
When I decided to have a child, I decided to move out of Orlando. My husband and I are a same sex , happily married couple, and we have a son.
I found Orlando to be dangerous, as the laws are quite dangerous. My husband, and I encountered some challenges that I still can’t believe we had to live through. However , it’s an beautiful city, but I really didn’t realize the mentality, and how the laws are set up against you.The mentality is from the past, we are a mixed race, gay couple, we encountered so many laws against us. We just wanted to live our lives, and keep to ourselves, but the laws were always in our business . I found myself realizing we were not equal. We’ve moved to a state that we love. Where our sexuality is not questioned, us being parents is not an issue, being a gay couple, nor the color of our skin. None lof these things are an issue.
You should not have to worry about what happens if you get pulled over, or what happens if one of you gets sick, or what happens if you live in a neighborhood and your neighbor does not like you because you’re a gay couple. If you have a moment, please get in touch with us. There is so much I’d love to share with you that you need to know about the state you live in, as well as there are other wonderful places to live in this country that you will not have the same challenges. Please, know no state is perfect. However, there are certain challenges that you should not have to encounter. From our family to yours we’re sending you love and happiness. Once again, please take a moment and get in touch with us. We have some very important information for you, as my husband and I are both working professionals. I am the American citizen working for a very major international airline, and my husband is the immigrant that now works at one of the biggest banks in the United States. We look forward to speaking with you.
    Adam, Maxime, and Lorenzo

Wow, Guys this video was sobering . You are so right about the hateful laws that are being passed not only in Florida, but other states. I live in Connecticut just outside of NYC. Connecticut is a VERY BLUE State. I am proud to say, it is VERY LGBTQ friendly. The school system is good. The weather is diferent that what you are accustomed to, we have four seasons. Taxes are high, but that is why we have so many great services for families, children, and great medical coverge as well. I will always keep you and your son in my prayers. Please let me know if you need any further info on this area of the country. :)

So depressing. As Brian says, all of our progress is in the process of being taken away and has reverted 10 steps back. I don't know that it's safe in any of the southern states. Perhaps the west coast, northern central, or northeast states may be better choices for relocation. I wish you well in whatever move you guys make. We here in North Carolina are experiencing the same issues with bills and laws being presented/up for vote in regards to drag/trans/ and lgbtqia+ . It is so sad that in 2023, we have taken so many steps forward, to then take leaps and bounds back. And it amazes me how someone can get upset about what someone else decides to do in their home, with the kids and family - and then feel the right to make a blanket decision on how to rule other adult lives.

Florida is in full dictatorship, no longer creeping. I have been so worried and you two, your friends and BJ because of all the craziness of DeSantis. I am sure the Governor has family members that are gay, imagine what they are thinking about him. Brian and Alex he is forgetting that his ancestors were also illegal immigrants when they arrived in America. Tomatoes have already started rottening in the fields, construction workers have left their jobs, he is also attacking Disney, it's the State of Florida and it's citizens that are suffering. How sad. Sending love ❤❤❤🙏🙏🙏

Hey guys. Of course when I was your age coming out as gay would likely cost you your job. And I was in the military at the time so it also meant at least a dishonorable discharge, or even federal prison. I know you have a lot of considerations to weigh if you're opting to move, such as cost of living, gay friendly, Black friendly and even immigrant friendly. That's why I'm going to recommend Las Vegas. Yes, it is hot and dry. And although it's been a "red" state, it's changing in recent years. It's affordable and there is always employment opportunities. (BTW I don't live there, I'm just proving you with personal analysis). Also, I have lived in many states in my 68 years, and find it's easy to find the good in life no matter where you go.

It is definitely something we will have to put more thought into. Thanks Jon 🫶🏽💜

I would suggest looking up LGBTQ friendly cities and go from there. It's great that you (Brian) get to travel for work and so you get to experience most cities during that time. Portland, Vegas and The DMV area would be a few good suggestions for ya! Vegas (tax free) btw! Wishing you all the best, of course I'll be watching and following your journey. Love your channel! I agree with many others about voting and becoming involved. I refuse to let anyone run me away from my home where I am happy because that is just what they want you to do. I say give it some time to see how things go. No matter where you go, there are going to be challenges..My advice to you is if you decide to move, decide on a place that feels right to you. Don't base it on what others say because whatever is right for them may not be the case for you. But whatever you decide, think it through. If enough people file legal actions in Florida over these laws, changes will come.

@MeetTheMazelins Yup, unfortunately so. The best way I think to look at it is to look at cities instead of the whole state. The only thing is that the best cities that are more open to immigrants and LGBT are also the most expensive ones in the country. Honestly, though, I believe everyone should have a plan to move to another country as things get more unfriendly towards people freedom.

I’m following the news as best I can from this side of the Atlantic with horror. How can the country that claims to lead the free world allow the dreadful things that are going on? Including the book banning (medieval for goodness sake) and withdrawal of women’s rights to choose. De Santos seems vile, but there are so many people who empower and encourage him. And they call themselves Christian! Not the Christ I’ve read about and still - atheist that I am - still revere in terms of his radical teachings. Stay safe. Yes, I agree with your conversation 😢. My legally immigrated husband has been in The Bronx visiting family this spring. I'm constantly worried that some crazy Karen 🤪 will cause him distress, and I won't be there to intervene. We can apply for his citizenship in August 2023. Literally, I already have the paperwork completed and am waiting to send it. These are difficult 😕 times. I keep reminding myself that "God is Love ❤" and fortunately, God is still in control 🙏🏿.
If we were going to move anywhere down south, we would consider the suburbs of New Orleans. We spend weeks down there each summer for the last three years. Gilbert says that parts of the city of New Orleans remind him of being home in The Caribbean. Plus, he could garden year round there and not have to winter prep our soil 😮. Whatever that means 😂.
Happy House Happy Spouse 😀. I bet at some point we will end up NOLA 😉 🎉.

Hello guys! The situation in Florida takes me back to the days of Anita Bryant, a former beauty queen during the 70's whose platform was to rid, not only Florida, but the entire nation of the LGBT plus community. It would appear that the basic civil rights that so many people have fought and literally died for are on the verge of being dismantled! The only tool that we have now at our disposal is the ability to vote. This is not simply hyperbolic, but truly a matter of life and death! As for you contemplating relocating to another state, Brian, if we collectively fail to do what is necessary to prevent either of these "characters" from getting into office, we run the risk of Florida's legislation becoming nationwide. Heaven forbid this occurring!

It really does. You know years from now when we talk to generations after us about all we experienced in our lifetime it's going to make for a hell of a story. But in present day that's really not the concerns we want to be battling. Yes, it's funny how childhood innocence really does make the clarity of a young person sometimes so much more beautiful than dealing with other adults.

BRIAN & ALEC… thank you so much for always sharing good times and things that people need to be aware❤❤❤❤…This is not just going to go away. It’s time to stop falling for the Large companies celebrating PRIDE; they don’t care about PRIDE they care about your dollar and MOST companies are only tolerating LGTBQ+ not genuinely accepting. WE have to think smarter there are to many brilliant people of color to be thinking you are untouchable just because WalMart/Target/etc sell PRIDE paraphernalia. Less we forget we are BLACK and who you think will be held to the fire first definitely not our non-melanin folks. Stop letting the “machine” create our narratives, such as picking one particular LGTBQ+ REP to speak for us all, those handpicked celebrities don’t speak for everyone’s experiences. Back to the subject; you have to take care of yourself and that starts with getting out and voting instead of gearing up for PRIDE or partying… Take care of the business then party… its not that hard but for some reason we forego our security and freedom to attend a concert… you have to open your eyes and see what’s MORE Important. Only GOD can save us and protect and even if you don’t belong to a church you need a relationship with God He will take care of you, but we have an obligation to help ourselves as well. To often we take for granite the murders and the sacrifice those before gave just so we can drink out of a water fountain not labeled COLORED… but we ignore that because “the man” has told you that was in the past and you should forget about it; no you shouldn’t forget about it because it still exists… TS MADISON forewarned people that its gonna start with the gays then the black and unfortunately our own blacks don’t support the black gays and it has begun and we are in the middle of it … what affects one will ultimately affects us all. So you need to make a decision as a great of a entertainer Beyoncé is she can’t save you remember she is an entertainer and that’s her job and she does it well… but you don’t live with her or any other celebrity. Serious household decisions need to be made for your future. We’ve done enough talking about its been time to be about it. Get up and do something! A body at rest stays at rest and ultimately will perish because there’s no activity. Don’t perish I need everyone to survive, but you gotta take care of your business and worry about celebrating later after you solidified safety/security for you and your loved one. Lastly you’re focused on your pronouns you can identify as a broom or a mop but don’t you dare forget you are a HUMAN BEING 1ST, BLACK, and all the rest is for paperwork purposes. Again thank you Brian & Alec for sharing truths and sharing your life May God continue to keep and bless you both and all of your family and all of your followers ❤

I am a hetero black and an immigrant. This is really interesting, as just today I had a family member call me from another state ask what the heck is going on in Florida. We have lived here since 2000, and the governors of Florida were all republicans. And they never came out with the way desantis is. I want to say that his replacement won’t be as bad as him but I don’t know ? I think it’s too soon to move but I don’t know ?

Just because some people do not like or do not understand something does not mean that that which they dislike should be removed. Growing up in the 1950s I was taught that there are all kinds of people in the world and have the right to live as they want. These simpletons think that they should destroy those who are different because they do not like them, such behavior appears to be childish .

    2. This is y democrats and Independents need to run for State legislative offices. Republicans have done a great job creating super majorities in these bodies... especially in da South.
    3. I would wait and see for the moment. DeSantis has picked a fight with Disney...so he will end up bottoming for Goofy, Mickey and Iger.😅😅

WOW 😳 interesting video today. I don't live in the USA but it was informative, i think people should be allowed to live a life that best suits them n be comfortable wherever, bringing up a child in the union u guys are in is already hard in society n for them to make it so much more difficult is sad. But thank God u already have the support and acceptance from BJ and his little society. Now he can't even say or speak of his family in school or elsewhere that isn't something a child should have to deal with. I pray that you guys find somewhere that is comfortable and accepting of ur love life n family.❤ Blessings

Living in Florida as well, I've been very concerned about whether I'd like to stay or not. I moved here in 2009 to be with my partner, and we've been doing fine until "He who must not be named" took office. My partner was born and raised here, and most of his family is here, who I love and who love me to death. This makes it hard for either of us to just uproot. He doesn't seem as concerned with needing to leave, unless he's just holding it in to keep me calm (I suffer from anxiety). However, if things continue to go backwards, it's a serious conversation we'll have to have. We can always come visit family.
Actually, it would be nice to live somewhere new or maybe where I've lived before. I have family & friends in Georgia (where I moved from to be here) and North Carolina (born and raised). However, those 2 options are risky as well, as NC has been trying to pass some similar laws, which some I believe were overturned or are waiting on appeals. I have the same concerns about Texas as you, though I have friends in Dallas and Houston I worry about. I don't think I could take the heat there either, even though I've dealt with this humid heat here for so long....lol
I've actually looked into possibly moving to Canada and what the immigration process would be to move there. The main concern about that is the climate. Neither one of us do cold that well (I fare better...lol), but I think Vancouver would be perfect in terms of temps. As far as the US, California would likely be #1, perhaps San Diego or San Francisco, though cost of living is much higher. Seattle could be doable. As far as the East coast, NY would likely top that list, maybe Maryland or DC, but those options come with the cold.

Yes, we have seen where since Florida has gone through with some of these laws that it seemed to just start the conversation for other states as well. It is worrying times for those in our community. However, we have always been a resilient set of people, and I trust that we won't take this sitting down. We have faith that the greater good will prevail eventually, even though the journey will not be easy. We're so sorry to hear that you feel uncomfortable in your own home, know that you have company and community in us! Praying for us all 🙏🏽. Sending love and positivity your way 🫶🏽💜

The passing of those bills by that governor in Florida and the others is not about protecting others coming up but rather to oppress the ones that are coming up that are more accepting of it and the ones that we'll be out in a part of it. Everybody need to just hunker down and fight this, and most of all vote that crazy governor out of office, but most important do not allow Florida and these bills to intimidate you and force you to run somewhere else.
