Thanks for the encouragement Temujin. It’s funny as you can probably see, same guilty party is in the comments doing exactly the same thing we are speaking out against. But we can’t change people until they want the change for themselves. We will continue to work on ourselves though, health wise, emotionally, and holistically and share while we do so, for those who can see a apart of themselves in us. Much love to you as always! 💜

Gays don't judge based on how much you weigh. They judge you about a disability you might have. for them, you need to be perfect.

Brian and Alec, please be yourself. God made all of us different for so many reasons. Both of you are truly loving and beautiful inside and out. Please keep doing what you all are doing. People should think before speaking because the tongue can truly be a weapon in some ways. No two people are alike. Stay strong, and please remember you guys are my favorite UA-cam married couple. *You guys are so beautiful... not just on the inside, but you are one of the cutest & most physically beautiful couples on the outside as well. Society is always trying to convince us to be someone we're not. It's a symptom of the consumeristic society we live in where businesses make money when they convince us not to be satisfied with ourselves, so we're pushed to spend money to become someone else.*
*So their advertisements tell us that If our hair is curly, we have to straighten it. If it's straight, we have to get curls. Likewise, if we're skinny, we have to put on more weight. If we're heavy, we have to lose weight, etc.!!! Whatever we are, they want us to change it to something else. It's best to ignore the false marketing & just be happy & accepting of one's own innate beauty!!! This was a great topic! Love you guys...!!!* 👍🏽 👍🏽 👍🏽

“Empty barrel make the most noise”
People can’t give what they don’t have. Sometimes people are going through moments when they are feeling insecure and as a result they consciously and subconsciously start to project their unsettled emotions on others. It is unfortunate that some people are narrow minded and allow negativity to control there minds and by extension their fingers. The world needs love, and what we should be doing is reaching out to spread love and not hate. Life is a journey and nothing happens overnight. You are doing an excellent job my brothers and at the end of the day living an authentic life exceeds any negative comments, as we can’t tell a persons full life by a 30 minute clip. You are guys are blessed continue to be great and it’s commendable that you have found your purpose. Wishing you lots of success, continue to be encouraged and continue to spread your light on this platform.

They lack cognitive reasoning ability. They are self-loathers who are a waste of oxygen. Don't waste one iota of your time or energy on them. Remember, you can't fix stupid. Keep shining bright. Keep loving and supporting each other. You guys make the world a better place. 👏🏼❤️🌈

Great video, guys. I've never been bullied about my weight, but I was definitely bullied a lot growing up (people read me as gay long before I realized it myself) so I can empathize from that perspective. Some folks are just really, really lame. It's so hard to tune out all the awful, negative noise and just focus on loving yourself and living your best life, but that's what we must do. And for what it's worth from this random stranger, I think you guys are both handsome, beautiful people exactly as you are. Keep being you. 😊

This is really what is so important. People focus on things sometimes that don't necessarily last a lifetime. Don't get us wrong, we believe it's ok to have a preference, as most of us do. But in doing so it is also important to not put down people in a hurtful way. Glad you enjoyed our conversation!

This is such a good episode. I enjoy your vlogs because it’s great to see your vulnerability and love for each other. You are both just great guys and I am happy you found each other. You are a beautiful couple and you always make my day when you upload new content. Continue being vulnerable because it resonates with so many of us. Don’t listen to the naysayers. Give them grace for their ignorance and continue being the beautiful kings that you are. Remember, people that lash out intentionally to hurt others are battling demons we know nothing about. Their actions are designed to make us cower and retreat. They are trying to silence us. This is why you must continue to create the great content that you make and love on each other loudly. Praying for you both that God will continue to bless you and provide a force field of protection over your union and your mental health. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

The things people commented to y'all angered me!!! What has always pissed me off, was the hate comes within our community. You guys look amazing, f€ck what anyone else thinks. If people are attracted to those types of bodies, please remember bodies will change, especially with age. I wouldn't want anyone, only attracted to my outward appearance and not my inward. I'm a thick guy, and always carried myself with class and confidence, and have a husband that appreciates it all. Many with that shallow mindset, are bitter, and always alone. Thank you guys for talking about this, and sharing your personal stories.

I’m so sorry you guys experienced that. It’s such a pervasive problem in society. People have these “couple goals” images in their heads of what a married gay couple should be, but alot of people don’t think about what it actually is to be married and going through life’s ups and downs together. What happens if one of you becomes disabled? What happens if one of you abruptly loses a job? What happens if one of you gets a chronic illness? The people saying these cruel things would probably run and leave the person they’re with if those things happened. Don’t let the words of people who have no idea of what reality and true love and partnership are get to you. You two continue to be you. I’m sure your channel has saved someone’s life by showing them real love is possible. My husband and I send you much love and support from one normal regular everyday bodied couple to another. Lol

The ones that are truly here for your support will never do such a thing and only comment with positive comments. Just know everyone watching and following are not the 1% of those that don't have anything else to do but try to bring someone's spirit down. I have been watching for about a year now and have followed you guys and I just enjoy watching you adventures and the immigration process. When I tell you, you guys are refreshing to watch because you both look like normal people and you still love each other. That tells me that you're both not just in it for the looks and rock hard body. The problem with our community is that we're too superficial and attracted to only what's on the surface. I'm so sick of the gay/workout junkie type of vlogs. There's nothing wrong with being healthy but having the six pack abs and chiseled chest is not realistic for everybody. I work 12 hour shifts, I can't be up in the gym 24/7! That's why it's refreshing to see guys like you, Our Boy Story and Gio and JC, that are normal and loving people, instead of (wannabe) fashion models. Keep doing what you're doing. 💛

I’m of a particular age, and I remember when men-period-didn’t worry or concern themselves with their body image. However, that all changed with the advent of social media. Now you have to present this certain masculine image to be accepted by society. It’s so ironic because prior to watching your vlog, I was watching a BBC documentary about straight men who are obsessed with body image to the point where they have surgeries and take steroids and spend excessive amounts of time, energy, effort, and money in the gym just to uphold the “ideal” image and even to the point of death. I don’t care what anyone says, that’s unhealthy. But be encouraged because haters are going to hate. And the only way to combat hate is with love. So, love yourselves and be kind to yourselves and each other.

Here is my truth, I was one of the ones who was affected by that statement. I cried when I 1st seen it. I was like this lifestyle is harsh idk if would make it. I did some praying more crying more trying to find out who I was. I have been in spaces and cases where I was denied and it hurt me, but I then found a Backbone, courage, and the confidence to walk tall and be this thicker duded that I am. NOW, you can't tell me that I'm not the ish...... And I also support my other plus size fells in the community. I would for people in our community would have a support group or chats or something. My favorite musician is Ray Charles and, in the movie, when he was talking to Della Bea, he told her this: "Ray Charles : Baby, when I walk out that door I walk out alone in the dark. I'm trying to do something ain't nobody ever done in music and business. But I can't do it if I'm alone everywhere I go. I don't want to be alone here, Bea. Not in my own home. Look, Bea, if you don't understand me, then who will? and i do feel like alot of people who done look like the model dude with he abs are walking alone in the dark and walking alone. let's Lighten up the scope of our different life and be some ones accompanied.

We know that people are constantly running in circles to live up to society's standards of beauty (which is worse due to social media). Being strong, secure, black gay men with strong a strong relationship, friendships and family-ships is more important than idolizing things that will eventually fade anyway.

This definitely speaks to me, as someone who has struggled with weight and is married to a professional dancer who is smaller framed... its definitely a struggle .. especially when you hear comments like "How did you get him", "you should work on being smaller so he will stay with you", "ya'll don't match physically" - it truly has been something I have been conscious of internally and externally. The inner struggle to keep your head out of the pool of negativity is a battle I think we all face. Also learning that when you are happy and for the majority of people when you find that person that increases your happy - your weight tends to increase as well - the "Happy In Love Weight - they call it. For anyone that is watching someone's channel just to get a kick off of their looks, isn't watching for the right reason to begin with but also they are missing the point of people sharing their stories and lives. I applaud you both for being so open, authentic, and transparent about your journey and showing the ups and downs of not only being black men, but black gay married men dealing with a society who loves to encase people in boxes both within and outside our community.

Please don’t stop 🤍. We need you guys. As hard as it is to see the negative comments, you guys are changing lives. Your authenticity and loving, growing, passionate conversations and relationship is creating ripples of good throughout the universe. Even though some people makes hurting comments, think about the fact that they took the time to watch your video!…. Something caught their eye, they saw even if just a sliver a reflection of themselves in you, which means they need you too! Thank you both 🌈🙏🏾

Thank you so much for this David. This really was such a sweet and reassuring message. We are happy to know that we even remotely may be making a difference in someone's lives. We truly started this journey out not knowing where it would take us, but in the hope that people could see themselves in us in some way and feel represented. So this hit it on the head for us truly and have given us a renewed sense of purpose. Sending love your way! 💜

One of the truest things of life, is that one is met with negativity in the midst of finding their own joy.
As much as this hurts, we are also given an opportunity through these woundings to decide to accept what we found out to be our internal understanding of what is right and true.
I began watching your channel has part of witnessing for myself what homosexuality is and is not. I have a close family member who is a lesbian and looked down upon within the family because of this.
I have and continue to learn that love is not just between heterosexual pairs.
It is not foreign to the human psyche (the soul), it simply is.
Thank you for being what you are - two men, who met each other, fell in love and married.
The insistence that one has to have a particular look, or clothing size to be an example of true love, is a limitation that has no bearing in truth. Love sees the beauty of the heart of its beloved. All external factors, are like leaves changing with each season of life, and all of the buffering that they receive from the forces of nature.
    Love, is the eternal truth.
This is what you two have with each other.
I personally hope, you nurture it and it grows, so that one day, someone somewhere, will tell the story of the Mazelins and their ever-growing love for each other. ~ Patricia

But the other reason I am commenting is that it is great to watch you growing deeper in love. This conversation is so needed throughout the community 🙌🏾 The hate that queer people have for each other is insane. We could spend months talking about "body goals" amongst queer folks. How dare people feel because you're not ripped with a small waist that you don't deserve love. As queer man myself, I have struggled with this all my life, and I'm still dealing with it. I appreciate the transparency 🙌🏾🙌🏾🤎🤎

Your positive message probably went waaaayyy over the heads of the ones committed to being haters. Unfortunately being on social media opens you to people with their own issues who enjoy projecting their insecurities and self hatred onto others. It’s that whole misery loves company mentality. Though it may be easier said than done, please stop giving energy to people who obviously are not a part of your support group. The people that love and support you guys outnumber the the haters by far!!!!! Do not allow yourselves to be bullied or fat shamed. If you, as a couple, decide that there are some things you want to hone in on and change, then go for it. You journey is just that - YOUR JOURNEY…. Unique unto YOU!!!! You’re human…. I understand that the digs can be hurtful. Refuse to give any hater power over you to the point that they can make you feel a particular kinda way. Your journey has already been quite inspirational. Stay the course…. The best is yet to come. Much Love. Continued success….

First off, I want to say you guys have me in a rabbit hole watching your videos. Just great and honest content. So this video I truly commend you both of sharing your journey’s with. We in the gay community, especially the black gay community, can be so hard on each other when it comes to weight, personality and many other things. Just like Alec said, I think all sizes are beautiful and everyone has their preferences, but being respectful when interacting with people is the main thing. It cost nothing to be kind and if you can’t be kind, just don’t say anything. My ex-husband told me one time in an argument we had that I was to feminine for him. That hit me so hard and sent me to a dark place for awhile. Thank goodness for therapy and growth. Once again you guys are amazing and just keep being who you are. PHUCK all them haters is what I say … 😂.

Haha well can't say that we are mad at that Jason. We definitely use our real life experiences as an opportunity to open the floor for these discussions that we would have with any of our friends here at home. We could go on and on on the different facets of discrimination within our own marginalized community and acknowledge that this is only a small part. We are so sorry that you experienced that and it's a pity people don't realize the power of their words. Just know that many times that is in our best interest as we should not settle being in spaces that we are tolerated, but seek out people and places where we are CELEBRATED! Just know we celebrate you in all your glory. Sending love your way! 💜

Fatphobia is real, especially in queer spaces. Desirability in queer spaces dictate who is and is not allowed courtesy and kindness. When we talk about body positivity and inclusivity in queer spaces, it often does not include those who are disabled or non-thin. If you are non-thin, you have to have the bearded daddy aesthetic in order to been seen as attractive.
