- Transforming my Scale Model Workbench - From Disaster to Organised!!
In this video, I'm sharing with you how I transformed my Scale Model Workbench-from a disaster into an organised workspace! If you're like me, your Scale Model Workbench is a disaster. It's not organised and it's full of junk. In this video, I fill my workbench with Hobbyzone modular system made from MDF and hardboard.
I originally bought this workbench to help me with my modelling projects, but after a few months of use, it was quickly becoming a disaster. In this video, I'll share with you how I transformed my Scale Model Workbench from a disaster into an organised workspace. This video is perfect for anyone who is struggling to keep their Scale Model Workbench in order!
ScaleModel Workbenches are one of the most important tools you'll ever own as a model builder. If your bench is messy or unorganised, you're limiting your ability to build models effectively. In this video, I'll show you how to transform your workbench from a disaster to an organised workspace.
After watching this video, you'll have the skills and knowledge to transform your Scale Model Workbench into an organised and effective workspace!

It's like cleaning your bedroom as a kid. Kinda cool for a bit then it just slowly gets all cluttered & back to normal.
Exactly.. so much goes thru this room it takes a while to get it back to normality lol.. Thank you @danielbritton8588 for leaving a comment. Please subscribe if you haven't as yet.. It really helps the channel grow.
Work bench looks great. You've got me motivated.
Glad to hear it!
I love my HobbyZone modules!
I want more :)
I didn't hear your cat meow, but my cat did.
hahaha.. special hearing
Nice transformation of your workbench Mos!
Nice work space! A little too rich for my blood. Thanks for sharing Mos. 😎🇨🇦
A lot of hard decisions in doing this. I also got the Hobbyzone products and here in the US, It is better to order in bulk than in smaller lots due to shipping costs (USPO for small lots, UPS for larger), Congratulations!
Good point! thanks for watching
Very cool thanks for sharing 👍
nice video i am thinking about starting again this was helpfull
You should! are you in the uK?
@@MOS6510Models yes i live in the uk
Amazing set-up ..
thank you
My bench is mostly 3 paint racks. As I use up my old Model Master paints, they are being replaced with vallejo or mig paint. 4 small drawers for tools and stuff. Extra supplies tend to stay in a box in the closet. I build my 1/72 scale kits on a cookie sheet, the 1/2"(12mm) depth keeps things from rolling away. All the immediate tools just stay on that while I am building. The cookie sheet is lined with a cutting mat.
Brilliant I had a kitchen tray for years
really need to do mine as well but never seem to get the time
looks a lot better and certainly worth the time and effort
ACE Matey……….love it allllllllllll !!!

Excellent video
Thank you very much!
I do notice one thing about the hobby- geography influences everything. Over here in Canada, we do have Tamiya, but until recently I think Model Master paints were most popular. Also, kit choices- Airfix isn't the top choice, but looking at my bench I guess Japanese kits seem to be more plentiful. When I was younger it was Monogram. Other than that, the tools and tricks seem to be universal. I just wish Heller still had the Britannia kit available, the Mach 2 is so bad...
with the canadian trade deal looking promising, i think you'll see more airfix kits in the future at reasonable rates
Gr8 set up, i also like your tamiya drinks coaster 😊
i have a airfix and revell one too some where lol
Fantastic pal , I like your Airfix badges, a very posh man cave 👍with all the effort you put in building them you could of put your labels on straight pal 😀
Thanks matey.. its my sacred space, an alter
@@MOS6510Models you enjoy it pal , we all need one I always tell my missis that it's a rule free room , I can smoke and burp and fart guilt free 😀
Nice setup 👍🏿
Glad you like it
Now its time to make it messy again.
I use under cabinet lighting which came with my kitchen (surplus). These parts were supplied by Howden, Light module - LED0118 and constant voltage LED driver - LED2302. These are still listed on there site. I assume other units will be available from sources such as B&Q. I used these because I got them free. The driver will take up to 6 LED lights.
Fantastic, just looked for them but sold out but found similar on ebay.. Thank you.. Email me and ill send you some goodies
That's a grand workbench now.
The Hobby (or Hobbies, could be either catalogue) has the same storage range, I think, but not sure if they're more expensive due to the added tax.
I can't do the same, sadly, as I have 3 hobbies going on, and no space.
Hope this streamlines your kit building!
I am really chuffed with it.. i guess i used the online designer and bought it all with that... I have been sent a link to their website so probably buy it from them as i now know what i need.
I need to do something like this one day

Well Mos that’s spooky just reorganised my bench today , might even start making something lol fred ps we all have toooooooo much stuuuuuuuuf pps bought a load of these early in the year 😊
looking forward to seeing your content
mos is the reason maccies is 3quid for a coffee now! they making back on all the stirrers he's been nabbing XD
Haha
I use paint racks and small drawers from 'The Broken Token', got from Amazon.
are they any good?
@@MOS6510Models yes, they are decent enough. They sag a bit, I will reinforce them one day. People complain they are difficult to assemble but I had no problems. They only offer paint racks and 2 drawer options, so it's not as extensive as your setup.
I cannot find the build it yourself tool online like you did. i looked everywhere. the designer page is gone. I would have definitely bought one but now its to much thinking and measuring
its here where its always been... www.hobbyzone.pl/modular-workshop-system-designer/

Very nice... you do like buying in bulk 🤣🤣 so whats your first build going to be.. 🤔🤔🤔
Have 3 already in progress lol
O que faz ai um chapeu do fc porto?
i went there for a tour of the stadium
How can a modeler that works in detailed miniature scale requiring utmost skill and accuracy do such a piss poor job of applying labels to a drawer LOL?
Thats the point.. of these labels...
@@MOS6510Models To apply them haphazardly? Whatever man as long as you are having fun! My OCD can't stand to see it for mere seconds nevermind living with it!
Hobbyzone is way too expensive.
Problem solved by simply throwing money at it.
Looks better and more organised now lol... Thank you @petercrane2691 for leaving a comment. Please subscribe if you haven't as yet.. It really helps the channel grow.
@@MOS6510Models quite true, it does look better and it's more efficient. My comment was aimed at those folks starting out who probably don't need to spend all that much to achieve a similar result.
Highlighting how it can be done helps other work out a way to achieve their desired result. Ideally, at lower expense!
