  • Transforming my Scale Model Workbench - From Disaster to Organised!!
In this video, I'm sharing with you how I transformed my Scale Model Workbench-from a disaster into an organised workspace! If you're like me, your Scale Model Workbench is a disaster. It's not organised and it's full of junk. In this video, I fill my workbench with Hobbyzone modular system made from MDF and hardboard.
I originally bought this workbench to help me with my modelling projects, but after a few months of use, it was quickly becoming a disaster. In this video, I'll share with you how I transformed my Scale Model Workbench from a disaster into an organised workspace. This video is perfect for anyone who is struggling to keep their Scale Model Workbench in order!
ScaleModel Workbenches are one of the most important tools you'll ever own as a model builder. If your bench is messy or unorganised, you're limiting your ability to build models effectively. In this video, I'll show you how to transform your workbench from a disaster to an organised workspace.
After watching this video, you'll have the skills and knowledge to transform your Scale Model Workbench into an organised and effective workspace!

A lot of hard decisions in doing this. I also got the Hobbyzone products and here in the US, It is better to order in bulk than in smaller lots due to shipping costs (USPO for small lots, UPS for larger), Congratulations!

My bench is mostly 3 paint racks. As I use up my old Model Master paints, they are being replaced with vallejo or mig paint. 4 small drawers for tools and stuff. Extra supplies tend to stay in a box in the closet. I build my 1/72 scale kits on a cookie sheet, the 1/2"(12mm) depth keeps things from rolling away. All the immediate tools just stay on that while I am building. The cookie sheet is lined with a cutting mat.

I do notice one thing about the hobby- geography influences everything. Over here in Canada, we do have Tamiya, but until recently I think Model Master paints were most popular. Also, kit choices- Airfix isn't the top choice, but looking at my bench I guess Japanese kits seem to be more plentiful. When I was younger it was Monogram. Other than that, the tools and tricks seem to be universal. I just wish Heller still had the Britannia kit available, the Mach 2 is so bad...

I use under cabinet lighting which came with my kitchen (surplus). These parts were supplied by Howden, Light module - LED0118 and constant voltage LED driver - LED2302. These are still listed on there site. I assume other units will be available from sources such as B&Q. I used these because I got them free. The driver will take up to 6 LED lights.

    That's a grand workbench now.
The Hobby (or Hobbies, could be either catalogue) has the same storage range, I think, but not sure if they're more expensive due to the added tax.
I can't do the same, sadly, as I have 3 hobbies going on, and no space.
Hope this streamlines your kit building!

@@MOS6510Models quite true, it does look better and it's more efficient. My comment was aimed at those folks starting out who probably don't need to spend all that much to achieve a similar result.
Highlighting how it can be done helps other work out a way to achieve their desired result. Ideally, at lower expense!
