As an European its always mindblowing that there are no people on the street in the US… I understand its at night and the weather is bad, but come on! Not one person in a big town like Cleveland? That’s ridiculous and scary kind of!
A lot of it has to do with how dependent the US is on cars. Everyone has to own a car to get around in the States, our infrastructure wasnt built to be friendly for people to get around by walking. So everyone drives everywhere here, even if its just to the corner store.
@@TheTravelerRV I get that for the suburbs but in a big town you would assume that in the city center there would be still some people in front of restaurants, hotels, bars etc. I personally find it kinda disturbing to see no people between skyscrapers 😅
They made downtown boring. There's no free parking and if you do pay for parking, there's no places to shop. So it's literally no reason to walk around downtown. Jack Casino is connected to Tower City, but Tower City is like walking through a dead mall. It's basically just old buildings and Hotels with a few food spots😐
It just means there's no events going on and it's probably a weekday. If there's events going on or it's the weekend there's usually a good amount of people walking about
@@TheTravelerRV Remember this city used to take its biggest thorough fares and during morning and evening rush hours hey only went one way but swapped for the time of day. My meaning is much of this town after it ripped out almost all of its rail infrastructure was left car dependent and after the big population losses and urban covid fuckery things like traffic lights are still tailored towards much heavier traffic flows and now we are only now starting to trend back to growing. 2024 i believe BofA stated cleveland grew by over 1,000 so maybe things ill feel more appropriate again soon.
Amazing! Zero traffic, no people, beautiful architecture, no trash, lakeside, short summers... This is the perfect city for me!
