Thank you Colin for the playthrough. This is one of my all time favourites! It is amazing to see how people play the game differently and how I would have made such different choices with the same cards in hand. For instance, I think nick Fury is one of the best cards to get in an opening hand 😊 - that extra three card draw just gives you such a quick start. RORS is one of my favourite campaigns! Enjoy!
Been a minute since I watched a MMAT. Sorry about that. Marvel Champ., can’t wait to binge away. Alway love your content. Your pre-game rundown is fantastic. Thank man.
I just recently came back to Champions myself and was enjoying some of your old videos. Excited to see you continue. I'll probably play along with the series, since I was just playing Crossbones earlier this week. I tried him on Heroic 1 a few times and got close, but couldn't quite get there (curse you Advance!).
Great video, was hoping that you would come back to this eventually. Your prior videos on marvel champions remain ones of the best edited so far.. Thanks
As shield block is a defence card, should the Hero have been exhausted when it was played to avoid damage? Top video. I have this senario with your hero deck all setup and ready to go. It's a great inspiration to get back into this game. Thanks
Yes!!!!! It has been confirmed you do not need to exhaust when using a defense card. But it does mean you do not get the benefit of your shields on your character. With shield block though that's fine!
Hi Colin, watched (and loved) all of your solo Imperium playthroughs on One Stop Co-op Shop. Any chance you're planning to do more for Imperium Horizons, particularly with the new Trade stuff?
Thanks so much for watching over here as well!! So I fell off the bandwagon on Imperium. . I played the Horizon's with the trade route and it just felt like an utter slog. . so I moved it along. I am sorry, it is a great game just felt like I could play more enjoyable games for me in much less time!
@@MeetMeAtTheTable Ah, that's a pity, but I have heard that criticism from others as well. I guess I'll have to start watching all of your other videos instead!
I do believe you can redirect that damage to a ally, but I could be wrong. This is how I've seen others handle it but really I do not know! Whenever you are attacked during the enemy phase you can choose who gets attacked so it think it's the same here. Direct damage is where you can't decide
The amount I've played Marvel Champions is pretty embarrassing. My friends and I used to play this on TTS every weekend for about 18 months straight, so I've probably put in 400 hours alone on this with literally hundreds of plays. It's easily my most played game, yet it's also one I'll never physically own because of the incredible mod that's on TTS (and because I've gone down the Arkham Horror rabbit hole and can't afford two separate LCGs).
@@MeetMeAtTheTable favorite boss is a tough one because that one depends on what kind of difficulty you like. Kang was super cool and had one of the coolest mechanics out of any of the bosses. Ultron was another one of our favs to play. And then the Green Goblin scenarios were just so unique compared to most of them. Favorite hero is easy. Ironheart. Hands down my favorite character in the game. She's a slow build but when you get her to level 3 she's arguably the strongest hero in the game. I also really, really dig Ms. Marvel, Scarlet Witch, SP/DR, Storm and X-23. But there's so many good ones and most of them are fun.
I too bounced off this game after a while. While using cards for resources is a cool mechanic at first, I’ve found that in practice it means you are always using the same cards each game. No matter how you build the captain America deck, his cards are always the best in the deck and what you play each game. It is a great game, but unlike LOTR LCG I think this game loses its excitement after a handful of games. I also find that each villain is very similar when you actually play them, again unlike LOTR where quest can vary so much.
I can totally see that! I do think that there is a place for the game if you are looking for a much quicker experience though. But I agree I like the deckbuilding on LOTR better for sure. Thanks so much for watching!!
This is an excellent game and I have over 500 plays at the two player count. However. Around this expansion, the one before it, and beyond - the game got worse and worse. We found that every turn there was an optimal play, which you must make because the bosses are too strong. The whole game is about getting ad much stuff in play as possible, so many cards are not really good enough.
@@MeetMeAtTheTable You're most welcome :) As for balance, the cards are well designed but the bosses just get SO powerful that many cards start to fall off. If you play against the earlier bosses you can use nearly any cards in a good deck successfully. The hard bosses put so much pressure on you that your back is against the wall every turn and it becomes very narrow decision-wise, there is little-to-no creativity left. Also, the worst part is that the games take longer and longer and feel like a chore. When I play a game like that I don't want to spend 2 hours on it for a single game, at that point I'd rather play a dungeon crawler.
@p0ck3tp3ar the length was my biggest complaint on this game before as well because you are actively trying not to advance the story. It felt like I was just stalling the game. I will say I like solo a lot because that does not seem to happen!
@@MeetMeAtTheTable Yes, the length is also frustrating because you need to do the same stuff every single game due to pressure. Once the designers changed the game completely went downhill. It lost it's casual yet challenging charm and became an exercise of optimization. If I have one complaint about combat in board games it's that it often boils down to a puzzle, and that makes the combat feel less realistic, slow, and drawn out. Lots of slow turns in which if you make the wrong move the game is over. Whereas a real fight is often very fast and brutal and full of emotion, occasionally but not usually a chess match. But I digress!
@@p0ck3tp3ar I get this sentiment. I've played I think all the bosses sans the most recent box. And some of them are tough and can take a long time. Most of my plays at this were at 3P and some of those games lasted upwards of 3 hours. I kind of disagree with the decision space thought though? I've played several different builds against some hard bosses fairly successfully. Even if some of the older cards are less relevant, there's still so much flexibility in the game with all the cards.

Same! It hurt me to see him discard Nick 🤣
@moo2k4 haha! Well sorry about that!!
🤣

Thanks so much!! Yeah the card play is just so much fun. Really appreciate you watching!
The limitations on your deckbuilding options are really smart for so many reasons. Can't wait to watch this, saving it for my workout.
Thanks so much!! Appreciate you watching and hopefully it makes your workout go quick!!
Good game. It's great that it finally arrived in the channel.
Fun to showcase it here!
I really enjoyed your video. Please continue with more campaign plays. Love it when you make series like this.
Got it appreciate you watching!! So much fun!

Geting Hawkeye out right off the bat was great luck. Hawkeye is rrally steong to deal with the minions. Good play!
So good! I love that ally! Thanks so much for watching!!
NICE FINALLY!!!!! you know my wife loves this game
Hehehe!!! Heck yes!! My wife died not because of paying for cards with cards!
Love this game! And especially playing Cap.
He's just so fun!! Thanks so much for watching!!
Yesssssss finalyyyyy!!! Hopefully this means some AH in the near future too!
Heck yes!! Thank you so much for watching!!
What a surprise! A pleasureable one too!
Thanks so much and more to come!!

Uh, yes please!
Whoot whoot!!!
34:00 could have saved 1 of Hawkeye arrows if you were going to do the shield toss anyway to do 4 damage to 2 targets ?
I can't remember but I am not sure I have a choice!
Crossbones machine gun it says when attack you,you its your hero, event, and upgrades so I think he can't attack hawkey?

Shouldn’t the Hydra Jet Trooper that you defeated with Squirrel Girl have actually been taken out by Cap’s Retaliate? Love the video!!
Also, I believe defense events will also trigger his Retaliate.
You are right on both accounts! I have a subtitle up on the retaliate! Thanks so much for watching!
