  • Still riding a dirt bike off-road at 70. I have changed the tyres on my Voge 300 Rally dual-sport motorcycle. The original Timsun tyres were good 50/50 tyres, but I wanted a bit more traction when riding off-road. I have fitted Maxxis front and rear.

Bike still looking great, and the tyres should be more suitable for the dirt, I run timsun on my 500x here in thailand, 4th set now ive got a 80/20 tyre, and they are great and a good price, ive just changed my luggage system to soft bags, travel light much better, ride safe

Thanks. I haven’t been able to find Timsuns here in Portugal so far. However, the Maxxis are a good price. Soft luggage is the way to go. I have some that I am looking forward to trying soon. Enjoy your riding ✌🏽

Wow, i like your new tires! I still need to ask if i will get them in the "new" sizes road legal uphere.
Also a known problem: loose bolds + screws on the Voge already from the manufacturing date. Better control every screw...
You also made me curious on you upcoming long trip... ❤

Thanks. The “long trip” is just an idea at the moment. I will have to wait until next spring. Good luck with your tyre hunting. 🤞

The new tyre looks like the rolling diameter will be a little bigger ! Might make the bike more relaxed on the road in top gear (which could be a good thing )

Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, that will possibly be the case. I will see how I get on with them over time.

Thanks for the vids, I got the bike too, waiting for the license plate... I see you use barkbusters. A warning: don't drop it! :) I droped it once on asphalt (0 km/h) and the inner ring that connects it to the handlebar broke. Next, I dropped it on wet ground (0 km/h) the inner ring bent... I had enough of this overhyped shit.

Thanks for your comment. Do you mean that the Barkbusters broke on your bike?

@@livelongrideonover70 yes. It was on my other bike the versys-x 300.

@@onthepegs The ones I now have on the Voge were from the Tiger that I have just sold. They took a couple of drops ok on that. Time will tell. I wonder what the general feeling is about them. When people buy such things they should be able to rely on them. Did you contact the company?

Hi, thanks for your videos. I have just bought a 300 Rally. I will try it on the Timsuns and see how it goes here in UK...in the wet! Do you not need to balance wheel after fitting new tyre? and by any chance have you seen centre stand for the bike? i'm 68 by the way, so looking to you for inspiration!! No pressure. Cheers.

Hi, thank you for your message. In the wet? What does that mean 😂 It doesn’t do that much here, when it does I stay at home 😂 It will be interesting to know how the Timsuns go. The bike doesn’t go fast enough to need tyre balancing. It’s not standard practice on dual sports as far as I know. Inspiration? Don’t expect too much 🤣 wishing you many miles of safe fun. Get out on the TET. ✌️

Wow, how the other half live! Precipitating profusely here as I write....Thanks for the advice, I think the potholed roads here are just the right preparation for the TET! Many thanks and cheers.

@@clunkygearbox ps. About the centre stand. I haven’t seen one online yet although someone sent me a photo of what I thought was a homemade one. I think it was in South America?

Hi mate, do you remeber the rear tube mesurements ?

      @livelongrideonover70  10 місяців тому +1

Hi. I’m sorry I didn’t write it down. I suppose it would have been a good idea to order a spare. I am only assuming, but there is possibly quite a bit of tolerance if ordered to fit a particular tyre size? Something else to look into. We never stop learning in this game. I hope you find what you need 🤞

Hallo, gibt es in der Felge eigentlich ein Loch, für einen Reifenhalter, Zum fahren, mit geringen Luftdruck? Gruß Dirk

No there is not a hole for a tyre clamp. That is normal for an enduro bike, but not dual sports, I think.
