You show punching the center of the rivets out for the motor and regulator but when you drilled the rivets for the glass they were already punched out. How did you punch them out without breaking the glass? I'm afraid of hitting them as hard as I did the other for fear of breaking the glass.
Great video. My window motor stopped working. Tried a replacement switch, but that was not the problem. With this video, I removed the door panel and the window motor (left the regulator in place.) On my workbench, I hooked up the motor to my jump-starter to test it separately. At first it did not turn, but then I turned the shaft manually for a bit, and tried the power again. Viola! The motor started working on its own again. I tested both directions by reversing the electrical hookups (switch red and back fro the jump-starter.) Re-installed and my window is working once again! Maybe this is just temporary , as I don't know why it 'locked up' in the first place. But for now I can send the replacement switch back (eBay) and the only thing I am out so far is the return postage, and my own labor on doing this myself. THANKS!
Bought a used 2000 Jaguar S-Type recently and found out the front regulators and motors need replacing. Bought them a little while ago at your site glad you had them combined. I also appreciate the video in that it helps me to see what the shop will have to do in order to replace them. I hope these new ones last for a very long time. I heard that Jaguar had put in ones that easily break originally aka cheap part.

Unfortunately when doing the regulator you have to remove the window out of the door. If you have tint there is a 99% chance it will scratch when putting the window back in.
hey friend i found the problem and fixed it it was the little cog that was worn and i bought the two motors fronm someone that has my same car but junked and he let me had the two cogs and replaced mines with the cogs i took from the other car and now the windows works aggain thank you very much friend you saved me money =)
Wuts tht lil black box called right by your head/near side mirror with th wires coming out.when i go to let my window up a clicking sound comes from tht box....THANKS
BTW i forgot to tell you my car is a lincoln town car 1988 ,5.0 litter a 302 engine and its a four door all electric front seats mirrors etc..my question is do you still sell the repair kits for this old model?
It came out perfect!!! No more tape holding my window closed ...lol... It took about 1 1/2 hours, little longer than it probably should have but everything works !!! Thanks again!!!
He says 2.5 cm but t6 bolts come in mm so itlls be 25 mm t6 for the windows and 12 mm t6 for the other bolts that your replacing instead of the rivets it comes with. Use stainless steel its a window water might get down there you can find them at any home depot or lowes store except home depot didnt have the 25mm window bolts just the 12 and then some 20 and 30mm . But went to lowes and got the 25 mm thats needed. Also theres a bracket on the inside that holds the windoe motor to the door sill thatll come out dont throw that out you need that doesnt come with a new one. To drill the rivets out you should start with a smaller drill bit then go larger he made it look real easy but even after dilling them out geting the rivets out and the rivet head off is difficult.
Good work! Thanks for checking out our videos! If any of our viewers need to make this repair, we carry the part shown in this video on our website. Here's a link to them. Stupid question? How do you know if your motor is bad or if it's your regulator? My window will only go up about 1/2 in at a time... (driver's side). Passenger side, sometimes won't engage at all, but when it does, it goes up at normal speed... HELP ME! Thanks.
Ever get it working my friend? Bout to get my hands dirty with this one and suspect the same thing. My windows all started pooping out around the same time. I suspect it’s that motor with the tiny delicate cogs...not regulator which is just a track secured in place.
Ahh. If it breaks again on you in the future, we also sell a repair kit that replaces these part # 1ABMX00097 on our website 1aauto.com Have a great day!

Thanks for watching our video! +dozer m.
Your comment worried me but if you use masking tape a couple layers on the window it saves the tint worked amazing today when I did mine
My driver seat isn't working, it's stuck in its current position and i can't move it. Would replacing this part fix the problem?
Normally you can remove the regulator and motor assembly together.
+Deb Harris It may be a similar procedure, but we currently do not have an install video for the 1997. Thanks for checking us out!
You may want to take a look at the window regulator to see if it has broke.

the parts the hold the window to the regulator: what are they called and where can I get some?
Wow. Looks like a lot of work
Have a 2003 Lincoln Town Car and whenever I try to drill out the rivets they don't stay on Center. Even though I sent her punched it does nothing
what did you replace the rivets with? did you put screws and nuts back in their place?
Thank you for watching. You are correct you just nut and bolt the whole thing together.
