THANK YOU SO MUCH! I'm nowhere close to a mechanic but I just replaced my 2014 Volt front passenger window using this video. So happy!! In the 2014 year (maybe others too) there's 2 different types of regulators that could be in your car. Type 1 (without outrigger tabs) or Type 2 (with outrigger tabs). Mine had tabs...no way to tell until you take out the existing. Thank you again!!
Couldn't have asked for a more informative video and info in the description to be able to replace on my own. I paid the dealer for this when it happened the first time a few years ago because I took the door panel off and it looked too complicated. Thank you for this!
Thank you, my friend. I’m 69 years old and installed it in less than 45 minutes only because your tutorial was perfectly described. You’re awesome ! And you can tell her wife I told you so.😊
Both my right and left window regulators broke within a week of each other. I have watched over eight videos on replacing the two regulators. This video is by far the most in depth and easy to understand of all the others I've watched. I've got both regulators now and will tackle the job in a couple of days when I have a free few hours. Thank you for your great in-depth commentary and easy to see camera work.
Really cool. Thank you for taking the time to help other people. Ill be doing this in a couple days.

O'Riley had the part for this in, so I was able to fix this the same day that it happened thanks to your video. Thank you for your detailed explanation, and for helping to save me $300.
Thank you so much for your video. You did an excellent job in your instruction and you saved me lots of money by not taking it in to get fixed. It was a bit intimidating at first, but it was much easier than I originally thought. Thanks again!
Hey 2CarPros....Great video...my 2015 volt window stopped working 2 days ago, now my window is all the way down, ordered part yesterday off Amazon, the only bummer it takes two weeks for the part to arrive...I have watched many UA-cam videos on how to replace the regulator and I must say yours is far superior over others...thanks for detailing on how to replace the first gen volt regulator. I think I'm ready for the challenge...BTW I'm 66 years old but pretty handy...we will see how things go...
@@2carpros Update: Received part last night, this morning I was able to installed with no issues. Hardest part was getting the door cover off, I had to use a small pry tool that I got off Amazon just in case...glad I did...nice to have a window again...thanks again for all your help in this video, I don't think I would have tried this repair without seeing your video first.
Super helpful video. I referenced it to replace my front passenger window regulator. Another issue I had was my window was stuck down. I initially missed the bit about cutting the wire to release the window, but even after cutting it I couldn’t lift the window. Turns out the part holding the window (near the front) was stuck and wouldn’t lift, so I had to take the speaker off so I could get to and loosen the nut. After l did that I was easily able to lift the window. Hope that helps someone else!
Hey all...if I can do this anyone can 66 years old...Update: Received part last night, this morning I was able to installed with no issues. Hi there, thanks for the in depth video. When the computer learns, I press the window button down, the glass travels down, I hold it down for three seconds. Then I press the window button up... Windows goes up.. I keep it pressed. windows goes all the way up, but then after going to the top, it automatically travels down. Why would that be happening? Tried multiple times. One thing I noticed is that when the window is all the way down, the glass is sticking 1 or 2mm higher than my other working windows. I checked all five six bolts are properly fastened, i.e. the assembly is properly installed on the door. Please guide if you can.
I just had this fixed by a chevy dealer on my 2011 Volt (for over $600). Now the charge port door button doesn't work. I was hoping to see that button mentioned but it wasn't. Do you have any idea why that button would fail after the regulator was replaced?

That's usually how it goes, same thing happened on my truck but one hour apart on a road trip.
That's so nice of you!

Very nice! You got this! It's pretty easy especially if you have a short stool to sit on. Thanks for watching!

Nice work! Love that! Thanks for watching!
good video but you have to loosen the bolts before you put the regulator in!!! Huge oversight so the window can slide in
Thankyou.
Great detailed video; my cover didn't pop that easy!
Oh no!

Maybe it got unplugged when they took the door off? Thanks for watching!
