Oh man. I've seen a bunch of your reactions before but I never expected to end up here on the channel myself. I've not watched yet and I can say I'm incredibly nervous because of all of my work, this is the one that requires the MOST context. It's a song about a character from a video game who is made of spam ads and the song is designed to feel like his (very intense) boss fight in the game. It's intentionally an overload to the senses. This is not representative of my larger body of work... I issue a pre-emptive apology. lol EDIT: I'm back having watched the reaction. My fears were correct. This is certainly not my 'style' so to speak! What I strive to do across all of my work is match the theme, tone and style of the source material I am writing/performing about. So the intense sensory overload style of this video comes from the source material and it's not something I've done before, all of my songs have different feels and this was one HECK of a first video to see. I hope someday you may get the change to see some of my other, less intimidating work! I always put context in the descriptions if you ever need it. But for now, I'm very sorry!
Damn, I imagine doing so many awesome songs, and then he picks... This one. Holy hell, if I wasn't a fan of deltarune, I wouldn't have understood it at ALL. A very good song nonetheless though
@@MrLboydReacts Ooh, okay. So 'The Fine Print', 'The Data Stream' and 'Rest Employed' are all popular tracks of mine that also focus on similar themes in their respective games but in a more digestible way. If you want something more poetic and heartfelt, I'd say 'Shine Through' is my best for that. And if you want another song about a shady salesman trying to sell you things at speed but without the overload, I suggest my Animal Crossing song 'Rogue's Gallery'. :)
Not like you haven't been requested a number of times for this channel. ^^ I've been pretty happy seeing talented UA-camrs (like you, now!) appearing more and more in these reactions.
Of all the songs to start with for the Stupendium 😅 (this is not his usual style) Deltarune is a videogame. Stupendium is playing a character from the game named Spamton, who is basically an anthropomorphic spam email/pop up ad/salesman. This song is nuts and an assault on the senses. Melted my brain when I reacted to it. But it's brilliant. Stupes excells at writing songs about corporate greed and capitalistic villains.
i love your reactions :D my fav of Stupendium was the hitman one, Stupendium is a great artist and deserves more recognision and i love that he has u in some of his videos :3
@@frozenzero6752 thanks! I'm honored Stupes has included me in some of his work, and I'm glad I got to do the same and have him in one of my music videos too!
Stupendium fantastically becomes the characters from the videogame he makes the song for. He writes it in their perspective mostly. He takes references to the game, and adds them to his form of rhymes, tongue twisters, wordplay, and anything else he likes. He once wrote bars for colors, and made an essay using words with cans in them. He became spamton a guy who spams emails in this song, but most of his other songs are less crazy than this and amazing. He just wanted to explain the villain who can't sell anything. I reccomend onlycans, or housefipper song more than these.
Stupendium is extremely talented. I hope this sensory overload of a song didn't put you totally off him. For a Stupendium reaction, I'd love to see you do 'Shine Through' and/or 'The Fine Print'
This one is a very rough one to start with no context. Spamton, as Ian said, is a character in deltarune. Which is a down on his luck program in cyber city. He feels like he is bound and puppeted by an unknown controller. He sympathizes with the player character's avatar(Kris) as he sees Kris is also controlled by someone unknown(the player) He is a email program until he was corrupted by all the spam that was circulated in 1997 when 10 million users had signed up and started receiving spam and malware. Alot of his quotes from the game are used in the song as spamton speaks in broken sentences that often look like they were made with mail merged macros (the text in the square brackets[ ]). In game it censors his words with other words. His goal is to convince Kris to take on a quest so he can be free to make his own deals.
I love Stupendium as an Artist, but this song is not a good first start, its just his newest, he has many more which are slower paced and he has a great way with his lyrics. Something else is read the descriptions of the songs before reacting to them, he gives explanations for them, but no one ever does. I would recommend The Fine Print, Fragments, The Most Fashionable Faction, or Shine Through.
A chaotic first choice. The character this is about is basically a living spam bot, hence the sensory attack. A lot of the random segments are direct parallels to what the character actually says. He tries his best to fit the style of game or character he is presenting from. A milder mor heartfelt suggestion I'd say to check out would be his song "shine through".
1:51 the first comment i saw on that video was by dan bull (similar to the stupendium, has asperger's): "if someone asks me what sensory overload is, i will show them this video"
Stups is a master of moods, depending on the song and the theme he’ll change every last thing about the song he’s performing Want a completely different experience? Watch “build a zoo” made by him as well Or how about “the fine print” done by him as well? Every last one of his songs shares massive changes depending on the setting, but what remains is that stups is really good at stretching words and making word plays work, moreover of somehow finding very peculiar and specific words that fit well for what he is trying to accomplish.
This song is purposefully overwhelming. Know that The Stupendium is a God Tier musician. This was a bad song to hear from him as your first one. Here is a really good song he did with Dan Bull. ua-cam.com/video/BW7EI8jpAwU/v-deo.html
Ooof, that's an interesting suggestion of first song from Stupendium. Probably his fastest and most overload song yet (as it should be). I reccomend "The Fine Print" from Stupendium, it has similar ideas and it's a lot easier to understand. Hope you'll react more to this lyricism psycho.
The Stupendium is fantastic. My personal favorite of his is 'Fiend Like Me,' written from the perspective of a 70's, Bond-style supervillain. Its tons of fun.
I know everyone's already explained what's going on and stuff, so I won't bother doing that, but I just gotta say I freakin loved your reaction..haha, even though you were clearly overwhelmed and didn't know what was going on I think that's kind of the perfect reaction for the song. It's just an attack on your senses, meant to send you into sensory overload I feel like. Glad Stupendium dropped in the comments to give some other suggestions too, dude is crazy talented but this was probably the roughest song of his that someone could have chosen for a first time no context listen.
The Stupendium does fantastic work, I recommend Art of Darkness, Dan Bull's collaboration with The Stupendium in Order and Faith. Other good songs are: It's a Joy - The Stupendium/Dan Bull Civilization Rap - Dan Bull Into the Void - The Stupendium ft. Camicat
This song is by The Stipendium. I haven't finished the video yet so I don't know if you figure that out. I highly recommend a different song from him, this song is... Well as other comments have said, it's trying to replicate the sensory overload of online adds. A great song from him would be Shine Through as a more simplistic traditional song, or maybe "The Fine Print" for something that is more his usual style. Outside of that, I love your content man. Your reactions I've seen have all been great. You've earned a subscription from me. I do hope to see more stupendium in my subscription box soon.
I would love to see you react to more Stupendium, but wow is this ever a weird place to start if you've never seen him before and you've never heard of the specific video game this is in reference to. The vast majority of his catalog you don't actually need to know much about the game in question to enjoy, but this one is pretty rough without any context.
Pretty much most of the fun of watching reactions to this “song” is pretty much watching people cope with sensory overload. It’s less of a song and more of an experience.
The Stupendium makes amazing game songs but without knowledge of this game or his normal stuff I think it’s a bad starting point. Some recommendations that are easier to follow are The data stream (song about cyberpunk 2077) The fine print (song about the outer worlds) The house always wins (song about fallout new Vegas)
Boyd was literally blindsided by this lol he had no chance of knowing what was about to happen. A song about a boss in a sequel to an indie game. At best you can at least appreciate the sporadic rhymes and impressive speed.
On the plus side, if you ever find yourself in a situation where you want/need a neurotypical to understand what sensory overload is like, you can now just show them AD INFINITY and let it do the explaining for you.
Artist is Stupendium Based on a video game character, Spamton G Spamton (whom he perfectly mimics) from Deltarune (related to Undertale) Song is titled Ad Infinitum Keep up this specific kind of content! I can assure you The Stupendium's work is a treasure trove of quality entertainment based on video games. Consider his Cyberpunk 2077 song The Data Stream for your next one from him 👍
Please do not be afraid of further Stupendium works, this was him showing off in my opinion. It is fast, intricate, and a full on assault to the senses. His ability speaks through his internal rhyme schemes. It's all slower and less abrasive onward and I'm sure you'll enjoy some more (or if you're a gamer, then a lot more 😉)
If possible I would choose a video game you are familiar with from his works to get the most out of it. Everything he says is spun directly from the game's characters, lore, and lines.
This song, like much of Dan Bull/Stupendium's work, is in reference to a videogame, this one being a game called Deltarune. It's definitely one of the more game-referential ones. You should check out Tune Into The Madness, it's a lot easier to appreciate with no context.
Wow i hope that this song doesn't put you off checking out other songs from stupendium because this is pretty different from his others, if you do watch more i would recommend "death or taxes" or "the fine print" since you dont really need to know the games to understand the majority of them like oyher songa since he usually writes from the prospective of a villain or character from the games ea h song is based on.
As soon as I saw you were reacting a Spamton fan video without context of who the character was my brain went "Oh, no!" You've probably seen plenty of explanations, but this is basically a sentient spam email that was then expanded on by the internet.
Trust me...even reviewers that frequent stupendium's videos got their brains melted by this song. His songs tend to be slower paced then this fever dream epic... Good song, just not a good first impression since a lot of the charm in stupendium's lyrics is kinda easy to miss with the more rapid shot format of this particular song.
i do want to say this is his only song this insane and hectic, and not his usual style, he has plent of slow quite and calm songs to check out his subnautica song to see just how much calmer and difrent from this his work can be.
That was a really rough introduction to this artist! As many already have said - you probably should look for his other works, like Fine Print or Shine Through. This song is literally a boss battle with viewer's mind, and nobody wins it on the first try :)
Super recommend Art of Darkness as a better introduction to The Stupendium. A lot of The Stupendium's songs get their theme across even if you've never experienced the media they're based on, but that one gets both the theme and the gist of the story it's based on across amazingly well.
It so amuses me that this song is so many people's first exposure to Deltarune lmao. It's definitely the most popular part but there's so much more to it than sensory overload salesman.
Holy first impressions Batman, this was a doozy. Would love to see you get to some of The Stupendium's other stuff, but am sympathetic to trying to react to a high effort chaos machine.
this a song about toby fox's second game deltarune. Toby fox made a game called Undertale. In Undertale you play as kid who fallen in to underground and you have choice to spare the monsters or kill them all. this deltarune takes place in timeline where war between humans and monsters never happen and the humans and monster live in Harmany. this Protagonists goes to a dark world chapter one was toys and chapter two was internet and they must close the fountain of darkness in each chapters any way they can. just for them and their classmate can go home. Spanton g. spamton is one of the darkeners that lives in chapter two, he is a shop keeper and spam. the darkeners are residents of the dark worlds. just like in Undertale you can spare the darkeners or kill them all. I do not know if you familiar with Toby Fox's work. Toby fox's work on his games that Game freak once had him make music in a Pokémon game in Pokémon sword and shield the battle tower theme. I do not know If Nintendo or game freak will hire him for music again. It has been three years without a new chapter to dealtrune. maybe If you like live choice like toby fox's games maybe you would like both Undertale and Dealtrune. can you please React to one of The Stupendium newest song a litte theorizing? that is song about the five theory channels the game theorist, food theory, film theory, style theory and gtlive. On March 9th of 2024 Matthew Patrick aka Mat pat is stepping from make theories on UA-cam and just being host of theorist Inc. and he has already given his four theory channels to four bright theorists to be their own host on their own channels. as of right now Matthew Pattrick's aka Mat pat is only going host the live channel GTlive because he does not know what he wants with that channel. all he knows is that he wants someone to do what him and his cohost also his wife did which set down and play games. so right now, he is going host GTlive until the summer. anyway, the calibration with theorist INC. and stupenduim is so good and if you know anything about any of five theory channels there a lot of easter eggs. Also think there was hint in the song about the four new host of the theory channels. I also know their old easter eggs to older host who left the theorist community.
This one is a lot to process, but it is not indicative of Stupendium's usual style. I highly recommend The Data Stream, Rest Employed, The Fine Print, Room for Improvement, Shine Through, and Fragments. I'm a fan of all Stupendium's content, but those are some of my favorites. I really hope you give his content another shot. I promise it's worth it.
Oh my, please PLEASE don't base your assumptions on Stipendium from this video, i would love to see you react more to some of his other works. I Highly suggest, "The house always wins" and "The Fine Print" and the We Happy Few song he made, but ESPECIALLY The Fine Print, its too good.
Don't judge too harshly, Stupendium has plenty of songs that are much more coherent. He's actually a really great music writer. Of course, it helps to know the game he's referencing, but not necessarily. This was just an awkward song to get started on.
This was a rough one to start with. The character in Deltarune is sort of like that, it's like a horror movie but made in song form and it's supposed to overload you. It's not really his style, just one of them. Definitely should look at The Fine Print by him. Even Data Stream with Cami-Cat is good. The Fine Print is for Outer Worlds while Data Stream is Cyberpunk 2077. Those two are great and much easier.
I europe, extended warranty is a scam... Every single product has warranty by law.. purchaced new TV and it stops working after 2 years.. I'ts within warranty, automatically.. EVERY phone has warranty of 3 years... Cars (from a business) has 6 years warranty, depending on part.. some parts, specially if they weren't mentioned needing replacement can be up to 12 years.. (If said part was stated that it needs replacement, then there is no warranty.. but if seller hides it then there might be)... keyboards has 2 years, mouse has 5 years.. I buy razer naga mmo mouse (the best mouse) and I've gotten 3 free replacement mouses (costs 80 € or $86 retail). Everything has warranty, in europe, they just don't say that they have and try to sell you "extended warranty".. the "extended" usually ends the same time as normal warranty.
Strongly recommend The Stupendium's song "A Little Heart", or "Chairman of the Board". Ad Infinitum is not one I'd recommend as a first experience for this artist.
Yeah, going into this song blind and without context was probably not a good idea. It’s….it is a lot. Though definitely look up the rest of his work. Most of it isn’t quite this, um, insane
I feel like, if anyone recommended reacting specifically to this track, they had to have been trolling. Talk about extreme out-of-context. Was pretty fun to see just how mind blown you were, though.
Every time a reactor starts with this as their first Stupendium song I cringe. Their work is so varied and talented and I'd hate for anyone to be put off by this one very extreme example. The Data Stream is a great one, Open the Sky is hauntingly beautiful. Shelter from the Storm hits me in the feels every time. And if there's any game you like that they've done a song for, definitely listen to that.
I figured you wouldn't know the context... I enjoy the song, but I can understand how someone who doesn't know the context would be utterly confused...
It's been said before, but I'll add just another to the chorus: This is absolutely the worst song to start your Stupendium journey on. Spamington as a character is the unbridled chaos of online spam mail/popup-ads and Stupendium embodies that entirely too well. But without context it's like a punch in the face. I'd suggest 'The Fine Print', 'Data Stream', or 'The Apex' as a much better (and understandable) representation of Stupendium's style. Oh... 'The Most Fashionable Faction' would also be amazing.

I took great joy in watching your decent into madness
YOU HAVE ASPERGERS? GASP me too :o
In terms of strange things, you've set the bar high! It only goes downhill from here.
It's hilarious, you can see the discomfort throughout the entire video.
i do want to say this is his only song this insane and hectic, and not his usual style, he has plent of slow quite and calm songs to check out his subnautica song to see just how much calmer and difrent from this his work can be.
That was a really rough introduction to this artist! As many already have said - you probably should look for his other works, like Fine Print or Shine Through.
This song is literally a boss battle with viewer's mind, and nobody wins it on the first try :)
i did it in first try most of it because i played the chapter 1 a lot before ch2 day release (it was fighting jevil trying to make a no damage run)
xd

Super recommend Art of Darkness as a better introduction to The Stupendium. A lot of The Stupendium's songs get their theme across even if you've never experienced the media they're based on, but that one gets both the theme and the gist of the story it's based on across amazingly well.
It so amuses me that this song is so many people's first exposure to Deltarune lmao. It's definitely the most popular part but there's so much more to it than sensory overload salesman.
1:01 you can see the fear in his eyes
Agreed
Holy first impressions Batman, this was a doozy.
Would love to see you get to some of The Stupendium's other stuff, but am sympathetic to trying to react to a high effort chaos machine.
listening to the stupendium is like drinking alcohol, start with a bud lite and end up to 75% alcohol vodka. you've started with cocaine
Lmao I've never seen you look so flabbergasted before I'm dying in my chair here.
this a song about toby fox's second game deltarune.
L2:02 LuLz, don't feel bad big guy, this video will factory reset anyone's brain for a tick or two.
My man looked TERRIFIED at the beginning
This one is a lot to process, but it is not indicative of Stupendium's usual style. I highly recommend The Data Stream, Rest Employed, The Fine Print, Room for Improvement, Shine Through, and Fragments. I'm a fan of all Stupendium's content, but those are some of my favorites. I really hope you give his content another shot. I promise it's worth it.
Never have I seen a man suffer so much while remaining physically healthy.
Yeah if you're not familiar with the character it's all nonsense (which it is) but knowing the character, this is a perfect personification of him
Take "where the bellhops bite" as a starter, this is sensory overload
[#1] Rated Salesman [1997]
For a second i thought you'd be reacting to the band Ad Infinitum which is a swedish band. I'd recommend their song "See You In Hell"
4:20 best time to mention drugs! lmfao
I love the uncomfortable and distressed look on his face
Oh my, please PLEASE don't base your assumptions on Stipendium from this video, i would love to see you react more to some of his other works.
I Highly suggest, "The house always wins" and "The Fine Print" and the We Happy Few song he made, but ESPECIALLY The Fine Print, its too good.
So I thought this was going to be a new song I hadnt heard from the symphonic metal band AD Infinitum, boy was I confused lol.
Don't judge too harshly, Stupendium has plenty of songs that are much more coherent. He's actually a really great music writer. Of course, it helps to know the game he's referencing, but not necessarily. This was just an awkward song to get started on.
Ohh nooooo listen to that song about soda instead 🤣
Aaaaand you never reacted to his work anymore even after Stupendium explained the thing about this video.. makes me sad, hope you'll do it someday
Drugs it definitely has got to be drugs it's chaos the beat is okay but I'm only catching like maybe every fifth word. This is major sensory overload
Yaaasssss
God damn! Same thing I said 😅
This was a rough one to start with.
Those two are great and much easier.
spartan is a game character he’s very intreating
Try "the wool over our eyes" much less sensory overload... This is basically audio spam.

Bro is horrified 💀
Strongly recommend The Stupendium's song "A Little Heart", or "Chairman of the Board". Ad Infinitum is not one I'd recommend as a first experience for this artist.
And here I thought you were actually listening to THE BAND AD ADFINTUM and was actually excited for a sec. Then I see this
Sorry!
@@TheStupendium oof
Y’all through him right into the deep end. Should of started with Data Stream or literally any other song by him.
Yeah, going into this song blind and without context was probably not a good idea. It’s….it is a lot. Though definitely look up the rest of his work. Most of it isn’t quite this, um, insane
Check out his Frostpunk song.
I feel like, if anyone recommended reacting specifically to this track, they had to have been trolling. Talk about extreme out-of-context. Was pretty fun to see just how mind blown you were, though.
HEY IT'S EVERY1'S FAVOURITE ARTIST [[1997]]!
THE STUPEND-
STUPENDIUM G STUPENDIUM!
Art of darkness is a good one
Check out 'Art of Darkness' by theStupendium way different vibe...
This song in particular is definitely an acquired taste, lol =3= I would recommend checking out some others though, even if it's off camera.
My condolences
would love to see a reaction to his song "the fine print"
You should do more from Stupendium
Every time a reactor starts with this as their first Stupendium song I cringe. Their work is so varied and talented and I'd hate for anyone to be put off by this one very extreme example. The Data Stream is a great one, Open the Sky is hauntingly beautiful. Shelter from the Storm hits me in the feels every time. And if there's any game you like that they've done a song for, definitely listen to that.
sensory overload the song, losing it edition
WHY AREN'T THERE MORE STUPENDIUM REACTIONS FROM YOU??? PLZ DO HITMAN SONGS AND ART OF DARKNESS!!!
can you make more reactions on spamton and i have two songs i want you to check out first one is big shot by man on internet and the other is jackpot by or3o
