One song can always leave on repeat, and never mind it repeating just in my mind all through the day for weeks on end, endlessly. Like a mantra. A perfect one. Haven't heard it for years, actually, until this latest round, and it still captivates, and still gives those chills at the same moments, and surprises each time, too. Such a simple song, really, sparsely expressed. And the singer never really says everything he could, explicitly, about loss, about his own feelings, and never pleads, doesn't put the other person on the spot, just questions the weather and politics, and understands why they simply must be there. And with a voice that is gentle, almost childlike at times, and then powerful and and searing. The other instruments complementing and driving and accentuating all these waves of feelings. Just sublime
