In my 50+ years of cooking, I have never been able to make a decent homemade mac and cheese...this looks like something I can do...I guess always before my cheese was grainy and it was always dry. My old man and I LOVE mac and cheese...so I will give this a try. Really enjoy watching your videos...thanks for all of your HARD work...it is appreciated!! Have a wonderful day, Noreen...

I added sour cream per your video and made a ten serving mac & cheese casserole and two grown men nearly ate the whole thing!!!! Best Mac & Cheese I ever made! Thank you for your recipe. :)

My husband and I love this recipe, but I made a few changes for our own taste buds. I cut out the mustard ingredients because my husband hates mustard, even traces of it. I also reduced the amount of sour cream by half in order to save some calories. After doing those 2 changes my husband now says the recipe is "fantastic". Thanks for creating such an excellent mac and cheese! The sour cream, even when reduced by half, really does add a wonderful creaminess to it! I never knew you could add sour cream to baked mac and cheese until I watched your video :)

I do remove most of the rude comments. Some of them I leave and I respond and then I let my viewers take care of it. Sometimes it needs to be done. People need to learn they can't get away with being tools like that. Thanks for your comment.

I just made this. I thought you used too many spices so I only used a pinch of each and a smaller amount of Dijon and Worcestershire. I wish I had followed your recipe exactly because it was lacking on the spices. Next time I'll take your advice and use the spices as directed. Aside from it not having spice flavor I still LOVED it. The texture was great! The cheese combinations were amazing! This is so much better than my typical recipe.

Hi Noreen, I just love your channel. You are such a good teacher for the “homestyle” cook. Thank you for never being condescending. Like we all should know this or that. I love hearing you clothes dryer in most of your videos. You and your family are a real example of life at home.

Had to come back and say I made this (haven't baked it yet -- has to go in fridge for tomorrow) and just the preliminary assembly is DELICIOUS! I didn't have dijon, so I used regular yellow mustard (and I didn't have any powdered mustard, either, but the yellow gave it enough "bite" without the powdered). I also didn't have sour cream so I used plain yogurt, and I like it (but I think it's missing the creaminess of sour cream). Anyway, can't wait to serve it to my kids -- they will love it!

FINALLY!!!!!!!!! A mac-n-chz that is the way it is supposed to be! I have tried COUNTLESS recipes over the last 10 years... I've never even gotten close to this! I think next time I might omit the worcestershire sauce. Not a big fan of worcestershire flavor, but that's obviously my personal taste. My husband thinks I will ruin the recipe if I leave it out! Lol, He LOVED it just the way it was. Maybe I'll alternate between the two! Regardless, IT IS PERFECT! LOVE IT! LOVE YOU! Thank you Noreen!

My kids (13 and 11) are loyal to the "blue box" mac and cheese, but they gobbled this right up! Pardon the street language, but it's crack mac! I made a half recipe since it is just me and two kids and it lasted one day. It's so good! Thank you, Noreen! This will be put on our monthly rotation, for sure, and so easy to do ahead of time!

Noreen, I watch a young Vietnamese American woman on YT also, who is so sweet, and does wonderful video's like yours; very enthusiastic, very clear precise and easy instructions. She's very pretty, and works very hard at catering, etc., and making a business for herself. Someone has been "dogging" her video's for years (!) saying they hated her voice, that her voice was so ridiculous and irritating. She has a lovely voice, nothing at all peculiar, odd, or irritating about it. She addressed them once, but they didn't go away; she just ignores them now. People can be just haters.. period. Keep on, Noreen, your family video's are very entertaining and instructive and enjoyable to watch. :-)

hi. I watch your videos and I love learning new dishes from you.not sure where you're from but thank you. I'm in South Carolina and I learned cooking from my great aunt and grandmother. most who make baked mac and cheese, act like making a cheese sauce is the only way to make it, ignoring that our "custard mixture" way is just as valid and just as good and has been around many, many generations. So thank you for acknowledging that.

love your recipes. i have made this several times, with various tweaks here and there, and it is never not awesome. My most consistent change is to toss in diced tomatoes, chopped fresh spinach or broccoli, and leftover diced ham or chicken. Changes it into more of a meal instead of a side dish. ALSO, nobody mentions, this is a terrific potluck dish, always a big hit at our church.

Gossner milk is a shelf stable UHT (ultra high temperature pasteurized) milk . It is in many ways similar to Parmalat if you are familiar with that. You can just use regular milk though. No need to purchase shelf stable milk for the recipe. I just have some on hand that needs to get rotated out of my food storage.

My "secret ingredient" in mac and cheese is a couple of dashes of hot sauce. I add this to almost all cream sauces that I make. Not enough to make it spicy, just adds a little extra flavor.

This looks yummy! Will be trying this with Gossner milk that I bought at the dollar tree the other day. They should look at the store what they have inside and not what is on the window of the store. My dollar tree did not have any thing on the front saying they had Gossner milk, but when I went in as always I look for it and what do you know their was those beautiful boxes of "Real" milk... It really is real milk I am picky and the 1st time I tasted it I was very impressed with it, taste very good when it was cold. Thanks Noreen

I looked at Dollar Tree online and ordered 3 cases of the milk at $1 per quart. With the food irregularities and shortages, plus the DT price increases, I figured I would take advantage of saving $9 and free shipping to my local store.
