These in Australia were called super cheetah. They were a great radio. I knew a guy that had one with a leason 232 power mike and a digi scan ….. wow did that thing rock in the early 80s 👍🥃🇦🇺
My Ranger has an unlocked clarifier, can't figure out anything useful to warrant unlocking it, but it does make me sound like crap in other operators receive if I fiddle with it. Maybe I'll glue the controller in the known tuned position??... That's a cool rig 390, any SSB regardless of manufacturer is always welcome.
Sweet radio! I just got a Courier Gladiator 23 channel crystal radio. My tech had some crystals so now I've got the rest of the 40 channels and a 10k hop and actually more channels that I'm not sure yet because I haven't hooked up my freq counter yet. I've got great reports on my audio so it seems great!
Fairly new subscriber here just got back into radio after a 30 year absence but love this radio and it's woodgrain look. I'm in NZ and just pulled out my Apollo Base set and Ferris 5000 SSB for a play and you Sir are one of the ones that inspired me to get back into it!👍
Welcome back Gordon, thanks for the note. I'm fascinated with radios from other parts of the world. Could you send a pic or two of your radios? If so could you send them to.... UDXCBRADIO@yahoo.com. Cheers
@ the only components I really need at the moment would be 2 meters. I have a Craig L-103 and an L-104 that could use new meters, but they both have the white background. But I’ve been locating and making enlargements of schematics for any CBs I acquire in case they need work in the future or I acquire enough test equipment to be able to replace components myself. I’ve been printing out the schematics then having them enlarged at Staples and putting them into cardboard storage tubes. Makes it a good bit easier to read them that way
Not sure of the chassis maker Uniden, Cybernet? but a meter should not be all that hard to locate. You might have to flee bay another rig or adapt a easier meter to find. forums.radioreference.com/threads/cb-model-number-reference-chart.466642/
@390WagonMaster i can tell your giddy with pleasure.lol nice rig, glad the little issues worked out!! With these ol cool radios gettin' older, not alot of " wins" .

Teaberry made a great line of radios for sure , especially with that punchy transmit audio.
