Luna Exploring Grassy Island 6 15 24

*WARNING: This may be difficult for some viewers to watch since our Redding Fledgling "Luna" was sadly found dead on Tuesday June 18th, 3 days after I took this video. At the time I took these videos of Luna appeared to be healthy & enjoying exploring her new world beyond the Nest. :(
This was the 3rd video taken on Saturday June 15th and this was the second time I had found our Luna girl over on the Grassy Island across the water from the Nest Tree. In this video Luna does a short hop flight through the bushes & that allowed me a chance to see both of her wings & they looked good & strong. She continued moving to the shoreline & eventually reached the water.
**I saw no indication of illness at this time but Marily Woodhouse with Defiance Canyon Raptor Rescue was still "on call" for us if we did see anything concerning.

We were able to retrieve Luna's body but we won't know the results of the necropsy (if they are able to perform it) for 4-6 weeks. We will let you know what we find out.
