You got me sold on the New Testament. Can you help me on the Old Testament? Particuarly Genesis and dealing with the age of the world and modern evolutionary theory.
No, you’re a Christian because the scripture has been accurately preserved throughout time and someone who knew the gospel through the scripture shared it with you. Without an accurate account of God’s word, there would have to be another mechanism by which we know His will and are saved. The Bible is the mechanism He chose. Being able to defend why it is reliable and accurate is important to bringing others to Him.
The 1st reason to trust the Bible is because it was given to us by the Holy Spirit through the Catholic Church. Without the Catholic Church the New Testament would not exist
Untrue. Orthodox bible and Ethope bible would. The gospels are not catholic. In fact the letters acts and the gospels predate the Roman church. James founded the Jerusalem church a good time before Rome even knew Christ existed and he did collect many documents. First schism was due to Paul’s disagreement with James over circumcision. Before any official Roman church could have existed. Next you will claim the original documents were in Latin. Lol
