One interesting issue is what the inspiration ('breathed by God') of the Bible actually involves or means given that it was written by men. No one worth listening to would say it was dictated. I'm open to it being inspired in different ways, but what is the range of these ways? Thanks
The Bible, viewed objectively, is unique among the works of literature. Whether or not we believe that it is Divinely inspired, we must still marvel at it. As Koukl remarks at 1:40, the writings of 40 or more writers, over 1500 years or more, all mesh nicely into a single coherent narrative. That such a collection of writings should be internally consistent is, in and of itself, remarkable and unique. The effect of the Bible on people, as Koukl points out at 4:20 ff, is also unique. People who read the Bible have experienced life-changing transformations. I would point the curious to David Wood, as one example. Find the video within which he describes why he is a Christian. He was a diagnosed psychopath, in prison for beating his father with a hammer in an attempt to kill him in his sleep. As he read the Bible, specifically the book of John, with the intent to use it against a Christian inmate, David began to feel that he was in a dialog with the book. The Bible literally seemed to be speaking to him and to his specific circumstances. He became a Christian as a result of what he read, and is now a sane (though still psychopathic), law-abiding, father of five children, and a model citizen. That such a man could be so changed by a book is, in and of itself, reason to consider this book to be more than mere writings. The scope of the book, addressing the human condition in all its aspects, in all its emotions, with wisdom and clear guidance in matters of mental health and good reason, is another reason to consider it a remarkable book among books. The sermon on the mount, in chapters 5-7 of Matthew, has been called one of the best essays on good mental hygiene ever written. That such a book exists is good reason to consider it carefully and analytically. You need not believe it to find it remarkable, but if you find it remarkable and read it, you are likely to find it transforming you. I invite the curious to consider it carefully; I recommend John 1:1 as a good place to begin. There are online bibles in which you may read John's gospel easily. It is a short book, and will not take up much of your time -- unless it lays claim to all of it.

It is a eyewitness report by men on what God did
@@somerandom3247 wrong science has proven the Genesis creation account is right the Dead sea scrolls has proven the old Testament was first hand account and the New Testament Matthew was right there John was right there Mark was talking to Peter and Luke was talking to EVERYBODY Luke 1:2 so yes it was eyewitnesses account of what men saw God do
@@somerandom3247 the pattern of the way the universe came to be is the same way the book of Genesis describes so wrong again
@@somerandom3247 the dead sea scrolls has the entire old Testament on it as well as a few other things the same old Testament we see in the Bible now I study Hebrew saw it for myself when the scrolls came to the U.S. and the dead sea scrolls would be at best 2nd generation
@@somerandom3247 dead sea scrolls has parts of EVERY!! Old Testament book but Esther and in Genesis from the first thing being light to the last thing man it aligns with science and Einstein theory of relativity says time space and matter came into being at the same time something out side of time like something eternal something outside of space like something that can be all over the place at the same time and something outside of matter like a spirit had to create time space and matter they cannot create themselves so right on both points
@@somerandom3247 you didn't read Einstein theory of relativity because that's exactly what it say time space and matter cannot create itself those are exact words so something outside of time space and matter had to create time space and matter it's not the God of The gaps 3 or 4 thousand years before Einstein say that, the Bible says something that is outside of time space and matter started the world that's not a gap that is a fact
For those who possess not the Spirit of God, the Bible will be foolishness.
The Gospel has always been sheep food, using the gospel as goat bait is a fruitless act.
Not really.I’ve always been fascinated by the majesty of the Word.Didn’t get born again til late into my 30’s…..plenty of people think it’s amazing. If you got out and talk to people you’ll understand.😁
@@bjones5791 That is a bible quote, "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
You may be sharing with unaware Spirit filled children of Grace, ready to hear the Good News.
Yeah...this is surprisingly cryptic stuff for a god who allegedly loves his creation. Either god isn't real, or he's an @$$h013.
@@deanfloyd8931 Romans one tells us that all creation testifies to the glory of God but we choose, remember that, choose to worship the creation rather than the creator. Everyone has divine revelation in this world, whether they choose to receive more revelation or not is up to them. Otherwise you fall into the calvinist clown world of theological gymnastics that leads to the most ridiculous in-fighting I have ever seen in my 15 years as a born-again spirit filled son of God.🙏😉
@@bjones5791 Romans 1:21 "Because that, when "they KNEW God", they glorified not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened."
Only Spirit filled children of Grace can that be said of, the unregenerate man has no capacity to know God, much less desire to.
