This is an excellent example of how a teardown video is done! Everything was shown clearly, the location and action needed, with a comfortable tempo, neither too fast or slow and it took only under 7 minutes! Very well done! I am attempting to resurrect a dead G62 now and your video was invaluable! Thank you for your help and the time and mishaps you saved me from!

Just what I need for my g62, as I already bought the replacement parts but didn't expect to find this video if I search for it. Thank you.

Very Good Teardown! Had to fix the power port with a replacement! Only thing better would have been a reverse video to replace everything in chronological order lol.

fantastic quality video - 100 times better than any of the others I've watched on the G62 stripdown - can't believe its only had 765 views !!!!

Thanks for this video. The keyboard removal is what I needed to see.

Great video, except you forgot the 3 screws holding down the motherboard.

The CPU can be upgraded to a maximum of an AMD Phenom II P960. But also P940 or P920. Whatever your budget permits it. 😉😇🤗
For RAM 8 GB is top. DDR3 PC3-10600S 1333 MHz type.
Throw in an SSD & you have a decent machine. 😏

I would say that I3 370m would be a better option for CPU processor (will try to buy 2x4GB RAM sticks). My laptop used to start working after 1:57 and now it only takes 20 seconds (the best performance involves installing an SSD)

...a most excellent video compared to a lot of 'em here on youtube.com showing the teardown of an hp laptop computer... only criticism...? background music too loud [hot] and the narration too low - i.e., the music overpowers the narration making the narration hard to hear...!

I have the same PC, the screen doesn't turn on, it works in provisional mode, what could it be?

Even tho it's a few years old, I have an AMD model & an Intel. Will the amd m/b fit in the Intel case? The amd hp has a half bad screen & half the keys don't work! The Intel is crisp! Thanks

I believe so, but make sure the size and shape is the same, connectors are the same, and the cooler is the same. If everything is the same then you should be able to swap the board no problem.

I disagree, it's one of the last good laptops that HP ever made.
