I’m 68 yrs old retired welder/metal fabricator. I’ve welded many types of metals. The one that gave me hair pulling fits cast iron. I welded many automotive exhaust manifolds. Today I could weld one up no problem then tomorrow get one and no matter welds would crack or you could lift the weld between two fingers. I use to think I knew everything about welding till my welds were ex-rayed or wrestling with cast iron! But I would think and think what went wrong till I went back to basics. Seems like the more technical I got the more problem I had! Step back and reflect! Oh and 45 yrs ago I had a friend set up his late model with a set of bathroom scales! Now they have these fancy fancy computer scales! 😂😂😂😂😂😂 I enjoy your racing and backstage videos
OMG! The two of you make watching these videos entertaining. The chemistry between you guys is amazing. Watching these videos allows us to see the real Mike and Mandi. I am definitely looking forward to more videos like this. Good luck with the rest of the season, your biggest fan from Michigan! ❤
This video is great! The behind the scenes of life on the road. When you race for a living, you need to make the decisions to get the car on the track somewhere. If the wheels don't turn you are not making money. Mike, your understanding of the car is great. Chasing the little things sometimes add up to getting you off the wrong way more than you thought. Great idea to reset and get the car back to base. Good luck Team 351
This is a very interesting video. Years ago when I raced it was a hobby. It is so different seeing it as a business. I still don't understand the financial aspect of how it is all possible.
It's a hobby for rich guys that can afford the loss,,,,similar to being addicted to gambling....you have to have the money to blow and lose,,,,or racing is not for you.....I can smoke all of these drivers,,,I just can't afford a car
It all about getting sponsors, Mike has done real well at that not sure how but has and not sure if he owns the car but he maintains it at his shop and be,Keven it or not if the year is bad one there’s always end of year taxes as you mentioned they do it as a business and without those sponsors they couldn’t do it
Great behind the scenes video with some shock tech and learning about some adjustments that can and sometimes get missed while trying to get the car to handle better. Hope you have better luck in your next race Mike. Have fun, have a good safe race and go for the win! Go Team 35!
I was applauding you ( in my head) last week at malta when you committed to the high side even though the car wasn't good. I believed you were trying to see what's wrong ... we've all seen you smash the high side and be good everywhere on the track. Good luck figuring it out, hope your confidence isn't suffering. To the front!!!
What the flip is going on? I am cracking up over this video, funny as hell, you both are like either drunk, high, or on something. I say that jokingly , Mike I wish you all the best I look forward to the videos and watching you race and Im pulling for you WHEREVER YOUR RUNNING. So put that 35 in victory lane.
It's nice to see some of the what really happens in the racing world. Mike you and Mandee make a great team and work well off of one another. That's what makes a marriage last. Hats off to both of you. Good luck to you and your team in the next event. Stay safe my friends..
Really enjoy the behind the scenes look at what it takes to be competitive in the Dirt track racing world. Smooth Shoe not so smooth with his Mic 😂 ,Thanks to both of ya for the entertaining video
Nice video kids! The life you live will not last forever, enjoy it! I know it something like a circus, except you pretty much stay within a certain area! Keep promoting! You’re doing a good job!
I know what it’s like to live in a box. I’m an OTR semi truck driver. My box is way smaller than yours. lol. The mics are great you might be able to put them on your sleeves and get same results.
mikey joe and mandy sue two young lovers with nothing better to do but sit around the box get high and watch the tube.and at the next show take the money and run! hope the new setups kick ass.thanks for letting us be part of it.
Of course Popeyes You guys had a busy couple of days. Can’t wait to see how the changes work out. Mandee you said you were having over heating go pros. Can’t you drill a couple holes in the case. I don’t know maybe there is some.
I had some work done on my eyes so excuse any mistakes, I'm basically blind for a short 😂time. Anyway you guys are awesome you lifestyle is awesome, I traveled for my job ,been to over 15 countries on 4 diff.continents but that isn't racing it's metal fabrication building industrial machinery systems, I was able to take my wife of 54yrs and two daughters which are now in their late 40s they were all interested in my racing for 22 years but never successful in my racing but now retired have 2 homes in Mi.and Ga. and the girls are married all 4 are successful and my wife and I travel a lot in our MTH with our 73 VW souped up convertible or cobra mustang and we stay in the USA I guess if your living the dream that you can have living in the USA ,not being successful in racing is OK!🤔😉🏁🇺🇲ML33MI.
It has to be hard on dirt. There are a few ways to make any adjustment, on asphalt you get enough hot laps to try several ways to see which one is best and easiest to adjust further from. It makes it easier to over adjust but harder to get too far from where you should be.
Popeyes, I would like to know how many cars you have, how you decide which car to take to which track. How you lay out your schedule how mandee decides which races she attends Mike bpj or Bp3. Mike you are excellent at explaining how you do things. By the way did you get the hose foe the toter? Good luck this weekend
They have done this for years with Malta, there is a big expansion coming to the chip fab plant again and they start the same bullying of closing the track. They had to put scubbers on the plant to clean the air for the plant, they would have done that anyway.
Can I have both Popeye's and racing please? Thank you all for the insights, the highs and lows, and the occasional bumps in the road living the racing dream. Just know you are appreciated by many.
You lost me at Big Diamond, can you repeat that 😊 Nobody works harder than Mike and Team 35. Tuff schedule, keep after it, Best of Luck, Be Safe, Enjoy !!
First off, was not expecting that reference to come from Mike so good for him but WATCH THE F**KING NOTEBOOK MANDEE AND JOIN US IN THE SUFFERING DAMNIT. Anyways, I like how Mike filmed a part of this from his angle up in the thin air and we all got to see how short Mandee is 😂 sorry. K it's late and I'm rambling now byyyeee
Too bad its not practical to scale a car with post race dirt in place.....everything is different from the clean setup....weight, tire wear, shock wear, you name it, and that's the car you were racing for a large part of the race. Certainly would be interesting
Mike, you are a very patient man. Mad props to you my man

Thanks for sharing that. It’s interesting how the concept crosses professions. Sometimes we overcomplicate!
@@dirttrackuntold True that! 😂 I’m my worst critic!

Great video Mandee and chat .A lot more to drit modified racing .then just it thre race track ..I enjoy all of your Drit Track Untold videos a lot .

Appreciate you!

After all that you have said, did you replace the bad hose on the rig?
Jim and Brian worked in it 😀
The crazy life of the full time race team running 3,4,5 + nights a week 🙏🙏🙏
🤪
Enjoyed the video. Where did you get toter repaired at.
The farm!
Great video. A good look into the behind the scenes.i have a big fear that we have lost Albany Saratoga Speedway. I hope we can save it. Thoughts
It’s hard to predict what will happen so what is within our control is to keep supporting the track so they have no need to sell
I know what it’s like to live in a box. I’m an OTR semi truck driver. My box is way smaller than yours. lol. The mics are great you might be able to put them on your sleeves and get same results.

Did you get a hose for the truck?
Workshoe Jim hooked us up!

So many factors to cover that change from track to track, series to series
Wish we knew you were coming to town… Would have had the Mayor of Cortland present you the key to city😏😏

When is the last time you remember this happening?
@@dirttrackuntold When they built the plant in the beginning. The 90s, I was at LV track then Tremont was talking about it.
Did you get my mail regarding the getting off the corner better? How about the rear track bar letter?
I think they outlawed those shocks in late models also
My heart is smiling Popeyes Popeyes keep on going. Keep on smiling. Thank you.🎉❤😂❤
Popeyes. Love the behind the scenes not at the track insights (and the comedy too)
Glad you enjoyed it (and think we’re funny 😁)
Chains are bad they click if you hit them. You need a cloth lanyard like holds the pit ID placards.
Good point

Video on the shock machine they use.
Anything specific you want to see?
@@dirttrackuntold How they set up the shock at the track.
How absolutely weird that I asked about shock packages last night!!!
Right?
question for Mandee what is your favourite track food or comfort food at the tracks
Ice cream an option?

Nice 68-69 Camaro, sitting in the shop. Is that Jim’s or Mikes? Would like to see a better shot of it.

LOL.....cars aren't totally clean unless all panels are removed....has to be down to the frame to be properly cleaned......

There are so many things that would be interesting to test just from a research perspective. Mike loves that stuff.
"Popeyes chicken is f*ckin' awesome!"
Truthfully I find it too bready. CFA is better and Zaxby's is my fav.
Hey!! Like people donate to there favorite political person!! Why can't all the fans fill out paperwork and purchase the track! And it stays open!!!💯
A crowdfunded race track, interesting idea. Vote for a board of directors?
You can get the car dewashed
