lol my dad said hes been there in the 80s and he said it was a 2 story and it was old and it looked terrible. I think thats why they shutted it down and replaced it with hometown buffet. Then that got replaced with olive garden.
it’s sad because it seemed like the workers actually cared a reason for that is they turned off the chuck e animatronic for the mascot usually you would not see them turn it off now they will just keep it running and the workers seemed like they were having as much fun as the kids but it’s very rare you can’t see the happiness that was originally planned 😢
Thats the one i went to when i was a kid. Soooooo crazy to seena video of it!!! It was turned into a hometown buffet, but recently it opened as an Olive Garden.
Wow, where do you get this video? I am actually the narrator of this… Totally forgot I even made it. It was super nostalgic to watch! Thank you for the memory. I loved working at the Merced Chuck E. Cheese so long ago!!
@@KellyPenner-k1n Hi Kelly! I’m Ron’s son. My father and I are so happy you found the video. I had been posting family videos on another channel and was wondering why my 9th birthday party had 6k views and then I realized it was interest in old school Chuck E Cheese driving the engagement. So I started posting all the old CEC videos here and this one was quite popular because there isn’t much documented about this location. Thank you for the wonderful narration :)
Two questions bur this footage is fantastic! 1. Was there an upstairs by chance? I ask because the middle portion shows lights up too and I’m not sure if that’s a mirror or something else 2. Where was the cabaret in this store? I’m assuming by the ballpit in the very back
Best job I ever had! I almost got fired for throwing a piece of meat in Allanahs mouth (the first cashier on the left.) My blowfish impression epic! This was a great time in my life .I won't say who but we used to go in there and party get all trashed. There was always the hottest girls working there.
@@Jackie-kd8wd not a lot of movements, cosmetics look cheaply made, the characters look shell-shocked. Compare that to the 3-stage with a robust range of movements and better design quality
@@Bromon655 understandable. They are very nastolgic but I think I agree with you. What do you think of the new 2.0 update? Personally, I’m disappointed
@@Jackie-kd8wd I think 2.0 is unfortunate but at the same time CEC has been neglecting and putting minimal effort into their animatronic shows for the past couple decades. I think from a business standpoint it was bound to happen especially after they declared bankruptcy. The part that I’m upset about the most is how CEC ordered all animatronics to be destroyed and thrown in the dumpster instead of auctioning them off the private sellers where they can be preserved further.
It's a cool old video. But clearly not Merced CA. You don't just make a whole staircase and 2nd floor disappear. And the outside was not a covered driveway. Completely different layout altogether
@@DaRanger100 completely wrong the stair case is clearly visible and there was another one to the right of the main one that was for employees only and there very well was covered driveway! In fact it is visible when she said there Juan. He's parked under it.
Agree. Merced's layout had more depth (notice all the exit signs). Downstairs had a video shooting gallery and the strobe light cave to the left of the animatronics stage in addition to the second story with the skee-ball and arcade machines.
Dang I miss the 90's
This location was featured in the Chuck E. Cheese live highlights

Note that the stage used to be at Merced before moving to Chesapeake VA until 2023.
That location it moved to is my local!

I have a question, what did the outside look like and what type of sign did they have?
@USM20231 idk man. I was like....6 or 7. Lol
That looks so much fun 😭
I wish Chuck E Cheese was still this active and interactive
Judging from the lack of curtains this must have been when the 2-Stage was newly installed.
The huge giveaway that this is stage 2 is the lack of the mouse hole under the stage with the strobe light😂

Kelly it was a blast working with you and the crew on the opening and video. Glad it brought back good memories it surfed for me.
NOW THIS is what i call chuck e cheese
Fun fact, the two stage was moved to Chesapeake, Virginia as the last prototype two stage
I wonder where they’re all at now. I hope life is treating each and every one of them well
6:52 You would never see this in a store nowadays.
Because CEC is cheap and doesn't give a fuck...
Omg I want to go to there 🥹🥹
Fun fact: The 2 stage was sent to the cec location in Chesapeake (sam circle)

I don’t believe there was a 2nd floor. I will ask my father about the cabaret as this was one of his locations he was the regional for.
i think i have footage of the cabaret@@WrestlingWithDerek
@@someguest426 From this location? If you do can you upload it please?
@WrestlingWithDerek there was a 2nd floor at this location, not sure at the time of this recording, but there was one at one point😊
is it strange that i can smell this video?

As much as I love 90s CEC, I think the 1 stage/2 stage has always been pretty mediocre.
