Welcome to the front Luca, I do love the Macchi 202. By the way there is an Italian mod which will change the names of your squad mates to Italian names
Never thought I'd see an IL-2 campaign with this aircraft ! Edit : I'm glad you showed us your "kill board" at the end. I often have difficulties keeping track of kills during this kind of videos, and not every youtuber think to show the "debrief" after the mission.
I will be sure to follow along the journey of this "ragazzo del macellaio." With two quick kills in his debut his call sign might be just "Macellaio!" Good health to you!
I was glad they put the Macchi in. It may not be the best fighter, but it is a really interesting plane. And I've thought it was a really good looking plane as well. Not that I expect they will, but it would be neat if they put in more Italian aircraft. There were quite a few really interesting ones, as well as some unique technical bits to them.
Great work man! It's a bit funny to see Luca Rosso get an Iron Cross Second Class, curious what the Italians are giving him if the Germans like him that much. (Add more medals 1C Games, pilots need their bling) But yeah the strategy for the Maachi as far as I've seen is try to shoot the cockpit, though with MIG 3's it might be easier.
Historically, the 22º Gruppo didn't have the Macchi MC.202 in Russia. It flew its radial engined predecessor, the Macchi MC.200, between August 1941 and May 1942, before it was replaced by the newly formed 21º Gruppo with some MC.202's. The Macchi MC.200 lacked the MC.202's wing guns, and had a top speed of only 504 km/h (313 mph, 272 kn) at 4,500 m (14,800 ft). However, the MC.200 was extremely agile. It could turn fight with the Polikarpov I-16, and easily out turn any of the later Soviet fighters, and the Hurricane and P-40 as well.
Hey taff four days ago on periscope films they posted a video from the us air corps I believe on the flight controls of the b-17 I don't know if you have seen it but I figured it would be a good watch I have yet to see it but ill get to that later on happy to see a new career in a new air frame nice to see your still quite the dead eye duck
Left wing is longer than the right on the M C 202, 205 and Fiat G-55's as a way to counter the engine and prop rotation that made most planes rotate in the same direction while in flight.
Interesting. Does that change flight characteristics for the better or the worse? I heard Italian planes were quite good at turnfighting - though let down by their literal lack of armament. I mean I sure wouldn't wanna be hit by a BREDA 12mm machinegun but having that twice and like two 7mm mgs as well... That's not gonna rip much off a plane.
When tracking a target, especially in a cockpit that has visibility issues like this one, it really helps to zoom out. For the love of god man, ZOOM OUT.
Not in the healthiest of states? This is war man! Don't you dare stop making these vids. Good start too, if it continues as you began, pretty soon they'll be calling you 'Luca the Butcher' (mind, if you'd stayed at home they could also be calling you the same?). I suppose 'Luca the Eagle' would be sexier. Seriously, I hope you recover soon (I got a vicious 'man flu' and it took 8 days to shake, day three, when I thought I couldn't feel any worse; days 4 and 5 followed, turns out I was wrong). Loving your content, “guarisci presto!” Pax

2 kills first time out. Nice. Easy plane to fly; hard to use. Fly it like a Spitfire, but care for it like an I-16.
So excited to see somebody do a career in this, ever since you did that video going through multiple planes a few years back.
If your interested in seeing another in the Macci Pevsplays did one a while ago. He has since disappeared but I think it's still up.

Love that you used the harbor scene from sniper elite 4 in the intro :)

Nice to see you back in a fighter mate. Thank you
Seems to have a bit of power ...should be a fun run Taff...pip pip.
Excited to see a new campaign. The 202 is a nice plane but those visibility gaps are going to be a pain
Lying in bed with the flu (just the standard version, not the 19) and watching Taff's latest video - makes me feel better right away 😊👍
The Italians do know how to build fast vehicles. 🙂
Feel better, soon.
Good flying for someone with a head cold. Get better Taff!

It would be interesting to start your Italian campaign in the Western desert then transfer to the bad side of old mother Russia
Except then his pilot probably wouldn't survive long enough to reach Russia.
Taff isn't really one to let his pilot survive for long. Better watch Wolfpack for that
@@marcl.1346 A couple of them have had a decent run, but as they used to say in the RAF "The hun you don't see is the one that gets you"
thanks for the new video Taff, Please rest up and take care

Looking forward to this career!
Verry cool! i use to fly the m C. 202 in War Thunder.
Nice kills, nice landing. The MC.202 is a cool looking aircraft. Shame it didn't have bigger guns.
The Culture Mafia BGM was unexpected here.
I hope you feel better, soon.
I love how you structure your vids, keep it up!
Excellent flight!

If you get shot down by a hurricane, it was sorcerer dave who did it.

the C202 design makes it look more german than italian :D
Luca Rosso...hmmm...a relative to Porco Rosso?
No just a random name generated...just googled Porco Rosso and can see why you made the connection...very interesting I wasnt aware of Porco :-)
What is the intro outro song?
Lucky shot
I wonder what happened to the A.I. pilot that made him stall his engine.
I never knew there were Italians on the Eastern Front, interesting.
Fun fact, the italians were the first that broke at stalingrad
@@Ray-lf1eo : I don't blame them. 47 mm anti-tank guns and M13/40 tanks were no match for KV-1s and T-34/76s.
I really like the Macchi I and look forward to this new series. Thanks Taff, keep it up man.
Macchi, pronounced 'Mackee'. Lovely research on the Pilot, research the correct pronunciation of the Aircraft.
Get well soon. Good flying, terrible voice.
