This is incredible historic footage. Graham was fond of telling the story of how the Queen Mum told him he "must go" to New Zealand, and that is how he was able to justify it to his parents. Also, the New York trip must have been the same one in which John posed for "Help" magazine, and was introduced to its art director, Terry Gilliam.
Just came across this on a Graham Chapman youtube trawl. It's incredibly historic and precious. They all look so young and Graham looks so sweet and handsome at his graduation, but it makes me sad to think of all the struggles that he'll have in his short life (probably even when these films were taken).
It's POSSIBLE that this is during their tour on New Zealand or America (at least parts of it), 1964, with "Cambridge Circus". They recorded some radio shows and there are little clues on the video. Aside obviously from the sign announcing the show, the title font is the one used during the New Zealand tour. At 5:21, a glimpse of (from left to right) Cleese, Tim Brooke-Taylor and Bill Oddie. At 5:36, Jo Kendall At 9:04, David Hatch
I'm amazed at how Bill comes up to John's neck size-wise in the bit at the seaside - like he's John's son. I hadn't really seen pictures of David Hatch apart from the one on the sleeve of the ISIRTA album and pictures from the revues at Cambridge itself.
Not to be that person, but it isn't Super 8 film; Super 8 film wasn't around then. That's also why there is no audio - regular 8mm film didn't have audio capabilities. Sorry, decades of film transfer experience work here - but amazing, wonderful footage!
That’s Bill Oddie - in black swimming trunks, romping on the beach with John Cleese and pulling Tim Brooke-Taylor out of the water. ( The elderly couple, in the swimming pool, are probably Graham Chapman’s parents.)
Why did men look older in those days, I mean, Cleese reminds me of my Grandad when I was a kid, when he would have been in his 50's and 60's, and yet John was only in his 20's here.
TWO PARROTS WITHIN ONE CITY BLOCK RIDING A SEESAW-MOBILE! There are not enough stars to rate this. Also, was the film speed switch switched faster on Graham Chapman's silly walk at one point or does he just naturally move like that?
Sigh...Graham...Second most gorgeous Python (after Mikey of course!) Look at him. He so sexy! BTW what is the frig is up with John and his cartoony faces? Clearly he's not "all there." Clearly. XD
What is it with poshos and pipes? Are they trying to tell people they're posh because they smoke a pipe everywhere they go? Do they believe if they smoked cigarettes people would think they were common? I blame inbreeding.
it’s not that serious + you’re looking at graham chapman; he wasn’t posh and one of the groups that him and monty python made fun of the most were posh people

Thanks for this. Graham looks so handsome in his graduation gown

Amazing.... now to dig up those short films Orson Welles made for his own private collection (featuring Tim, John and Bill).
7:53 1964 Worlds Fair in New York is seems
Oh my lord. Tim is such a babe.
Yesss he really is!!
4:32 He's sorry, he'll read it again 😂
are that Graham parents on 12:07 ?
I saw a photo recently of Graham as a child with his father and it did look like him so I would think so.

I always thought he looked grown up in the ISIRTA pictures whereas Bill seemed so much of a child.
