The white skin theory occured in cultures as a way of demonstrating that outdoor work wasn't done by that person. Later in US darker tan skin showed the person was able to go on vacations, or spend time at sports. Now we are all aware that ages us.
Ah, it seems to be just human nature to believe that physical beauty = inner beauty. Sometimes it's true, and sometimes it's not. Thank you for your interesting content, I enjoy learning about all this!
If it helps, I finished a mini introductory guide in two parts on TKM skincare last month 😁😁 you can find the playlist with all my videos on the topic on the homepage of my channel 😌
You my new favorite on youtube!! I love how indepth you get, and all the work you put into the videos (obviously an Art Director). My only complaint is the music is so loud. Can't wait for your next video!
Aww thank you! I'm very glad to hear you can recognise my efforts 🙏 Really sorry about the music, I used to check my videos with a home speaker system and I couldn't tell the music was too loud, but after I got a few comments about it I started to decrease the volume in my latest videos 😥 Hopefully it won't happen again!
I love the way you speak. Just a suggestion the music is a little too loud and hence distracting from the actual content. Hope you cater to this and don't mind. Love.
Thank you very much for letting me know, it's very helpful feedback! I recently started to lower the volume of the music in my most recent videos and I will be more careful in the future so it doesn't take away from my content 🙏
This video is very helpful and I like it!...and if it's possible can you make another video about korean creams that we can buy for example lotions or moisturizers for the oily and sensitive skin!?..
I know that the worship of white skin in East Asia is because the thinner the skin, the more it does not receive light, which means that it is an upper class. 동아시아에서 흰피부를 숭배하는 것은 피부가 흴수록 일을 안하고 빛을 받지 않은 것이고 곧 상류층임을 의미하기 때문인걸로 알고 있습니다만?
Can you tell more about Myeonyak please??! Can it be made at home? The eggs are to be fermented with shell or without shells? And the lid has to be tightly fitted or loose??
But I can't buy wine bcoz I'm a teenager Nd also as an indian my family are strict about wine and any alcoholic product... Can u plzz suggest any other product to add to make cream... Otherwise I'll watch ur video frst tym.. Nd I'm happy to say that ur incredible!!🔥🔥
Love your videos! If I could just suggest that the music is a little bit too loud and distracts your attention from your soft and beautiful voice :) xx
Hello, thank you very much 🙇 I got a few comments about the music so I decreased the volume in my latest videos. Still, thank you for the helpful feedback!
I would like to add that records of idealizing pale skin in my homeland goes back thousands of years, I read the other day going back as far as 2000BC. It predates Jesus and the existence of English history! Pale skin has been a part of Korea forever 🙂
Soooooo, years ago (when I was still a teen), my Vietnamese sister gave me a “cream” that was supposed to help me maintain my youthful vibrancy … I used it for a week and the look of glee on her face was palpable as my skin became lighter and lighter and lighter. It was a skin lightening elixir. 🤣❤️🤣 I must admit … it worked wonders. ❤️❤️❤️
She actually knew exactly what she was doing and from that day forward I kept my face out of the sun … this is literally the key to my skin … which is still pretty amazing in my fifties. That and I do not use soap to clean my skin, I use oils such as olive and coconut oil or almond oil, honey, et al. I still use egg whites and used tea bags, as well as cucumbers for tightening my skin.
Hi, there are no English books about it sadly :( I started this channel exactly with the intention of bringing to an international audience Korean content that was not available in English.
So... collagen, lemon and herbal that you need to eat. What you eat also helps how your skin glows. I take collagen, warm lemon drink and do diet (weigh loss).
Yes, many Korean academics recognise the similarities between ayurveda and Korean medicine. You can find some great papers on the subject, it’s definitely something interesting 😃
Unfortunately there are no English sources about this. I translated everything from Korean books on the subject, but I'm planning to translate some of these sources in the coming months.
Yes the Donguibogam has an entire section on skincare practices, my next video will be about the most ancient Korean treatment for acne as described in the Donguibogam 😀
Hi Tamil! I have a video on my channel called "Dull skin? Get your glow back...etc" featuring Korean herbal skincare products if that helps! I will make a video on dyi natural masks in the future, but in the meantime I think that video might be a good starting point
Hello ma'am 😊 I am your new subscriber from India, ma'am,your videos are really informative but ma'am I didn't get the last face treatment you said it's honey and...can you reply .and ma'am can give the actual tips of skin whitening naturally
Hello! Rice water is a natural source of Vitamin B so it evens skin tone and lightens dark spots. But it doesn't make your complexion whiter (meaning it doesn't reduce the amount of melanin in your skin) if that's what you meant. Hope this helps!
No skincare product is really "necessary" except for sunscreen. Everything depends on your personal preferences 😊 toners are mostly used to damp the skin so it will absorb better the following treatments (these are usually called essence or serum or ampoule), some people just use plain tap water to damp their face, I prefer to use a watery product (whether it's called "toner" or "first essence" etc it doesn't matter) because they’re formulated to be absorbed better by the skin compared to plain water, but it’s just a personal preference.
Korean and Italian subtitles have now been added. Thank you for your patience ^^

I would love to hear about diet and Korean herbal medicine...the ancient ways.
I'm working on getting a reputable professional as a guest on my channel to talk about these topics 😎
From what you see on UA-cam, they eat like 80% carbs. Sugar is in all the sauces. Plus the dishes are carby

Very interesting video 😊! Only the Music is a bit too loud compared to your voice. It makes it hard to hear you.

I agree 😊 this series is meant only for historical purposes.

These skincare remedies are quite similar to Aryveda.
