  • Today I’ll introduce you to the oldest Korean anti aging skincare secret. Ancient Koreans used to call it “Herb from the Gods”, but nowadays it's simply known as Korean Ginseng.
    Ginseng is a powerful medicinal herb that has been traditionally used in Asia for thousands of years, but did you know that some varieties of the plant have also been recognised as potent anti aging skincare remedies? In this video I’ll walk you through the history and the properties of this extraordinary anti aging secret and tell you what factors to consider before purchasing an anti aging skincare product that contains Korean Ginseng.
    Lastly, I’ll share with you my top 3 Korean anti aging skincare serums based on Korean Ginseng. I was originally meant to show you 6 serums in this video, but I realised the video was getting too long so in the end I decided to focus only on the top 3 serums. I’ll do a second part next year covering the other 3, so make sure to subscribe so you don’t miss out!
    The video is available with English and Italian subtitles:

    I was really curious about the History of Whoo Jinyulhyang Revitalizing Essence after you mentioned it made you less puffy... I bought it and the Balancer from the same line and OMG! It works! My skin has been less sallow/dull and even less bloated the mornings after I use it. What black magic is this?! I appreciate you introducing these gems, there's really not much information about it in the West.

    I have been using Donginbi red ginseng moisture and firming line since I found your video about it six months ago and I love it, my skin is clear, my blemishes gone and my fines lines are also disappearing slowly, I never believed in spending lots of money on skincare but this brand I am sold. I caught poison ivy on my face three times this summer and it did some damages but it seems to have help so much!!! The smell of ginseng in the toner is just so refreshing in the morning. I tried cheaper brands and does not compare. I am 45 with combination skin towards oily. Thank you for your videos

      Thank you! I'm glad to hear it lived up to expectations. I felt the same about high end skincare when I was younger, but now I'm at a stage of my life when I would rather buy less but better, so when I introduce more expensive products on my channel I try to focus more on why I found them to be worth the price tag rather than just recommending then just for the sake of recommending something I like.

    I just finished the Seolhwasoo rescue ampoule, I didn't have expectations, but I don't think I am immagining, not now 2 months after I gave birth and I barely sleep, I am always stressed and grumpy with a newborn amd a toddler..My skin should look awful but why does it look so good? Plumper, more hidrated, brighter.. I incline to believe this rescue ampoule really did something for my skin. It is expensive, but lately, thanks to you, I started buying less, and focus more on quality products. And it's always worth it. I never regret spending this much, because I see results. I haven't tried the 진율향 products yet, but I can't wait. Thank you!

    Hey! I'm a new subscriber that to happened to stumble across your content and I have been loving all the videos! Its very informative. I'm curious about your take on notion of Western vs Eastern skincare for anti-aging. When it comes to reducing fine lines, wrinkles, and age spots, do you think investing in mainstream retinol products from brands like Paula’s Choice, COSRX and Some By Mi are more effective than going for Traditional Korean Hanbang options? Specifically, I'm wondering if splurging on premium panex ginseng brands like Sulwhasoo, Donginbi and The History of Whoo justifies the higher price for better results. What's your perspective on this 🙂?

  • @sammili6960

    Odile, really good video om ginseng. I would like to know in your opinion, is sulwhasoo as a brand worthed to buy for antiaging and firming? I couldn’t find the donginbi 1899 essence in store in Australia. I would like to try first since my skin can be sensitive sometimes.
    I only see the sulwhasoo concentrated ginseng serum at sephora here and like the smell of subtle ginseng. I couldn’t find the concentrated rescue ampoule. Is the concentrated ginseng serum as good as the concentrated ginseng ampoule?
    I really like your videos information.
    Also, do you mix n match skincare products or you use a single line? Which is better?

      Your point being? This is a channel on Korean Beauty from the perspective of someone who has been working in the industry for over 10 years, speaks the language and receives regular training on domestic regulations. Are you perhaps assuming that the average Korean person is naturally familiar with cosmetic industry laws and regulations of their country just because they're Korean? I never claimed to be Korean. My content is simply based on professional expertise in the field of Korean cosmetics and all my videos are based on original Korean sources. I'm simply translating Korean sources to make this type of content available to English-speaking audiences.

      Question; if I take too much ginseng will I become drowsy such that I could not withstand ag from a geezer?

    • @OdileMonodTheMonodist
      @OdileMonodTheMonodist  Рік тому +3

      No, the opposite actually! It's considered a stimulant, people usually take it in the morning or when they're feeling particularly weak. It's not recommended to take it before bedtime and you should start with a low concentration because the body takes time to adjust and you might experience some side effects at first.

      I'm familiar with what happened to Roy Shaw, but that's not the standard effect associated with Ginseng, it’s one of the side effects I was talking about in my previous comment. Individuals with some pre-existing conditions (usually high blood pressure or any sort of cardiovascular disease) are usually advised to only consume ginseng in small quantities because it stimulates the nervous system as well as increase blood flow, so if these individuals were to consume too much ginseng they would feel nauseous and dizzy, which is why I was recommending to start with a low dosage in my previous comment.
