After Germany surrendered on 8 May, Speirs decided to stay and prepare to fight in Japan; however, Japan surrendered in August and the war ended. After the war, Speirs and his first wife divorced because she wanted to stay with her close-knit family in England instead of following Speirs to America. They had one son together. Speirs eventually volunteered to fight in the Korean War and was commander of a rifle company, making one combat jump. Speirs attended a Russian language course in 1956 and eventually was made a liaison officer to the Red Army. He subsequently became governor of Berlin's Spandau Prison in 1958, but returned to the US Army and was on a mission to the Royal Lao Army in 1962. He retired from the Army in 1964 as a Lieutenant Colonel and stayed with his family in California. Speirs died in Montana on 11 April 2007. Among the men of Easy Company, there were rumors that Speirs gave cigarettes to 20 Nazi POWs and later shot all but one, but this account was later reduced to six POWs. He also shot a Sergeant for being drunk and insubordinate: Speirs reported this to his own commander, who stated he would consider reporting Speirs for charges, but the commander was killed in action shortly after and the matter was never pursued. In an interview with Major Dick Winters late in his life, when asked about Speirs he confirmed that Speirs by his own verbal admission, and in a written letter stated he committed both acts. His wife divorced him because she thought she was a war widow when she married Spiers. After the war, her husband showed up very much alive and she picked him over Speirs, and they kept all the loot that Speirs had shipped back to England to support her an his son.
Also I believe it wasn't simply that he shot his own for being drunk and disorderly. It was that he was disobeying orders endangering the squad. From BoB book: When Captain Speirs got back to England in the summer of 1945, he discovered that the English “widow” he had married, and who had borne his son, wasn’t a widow at all. Her husband reappeared from a P.O.W. camp. She chose him over Speirs, and the couple kept all the loot Speirs had shipped back from Europe.
80 years later, I can say confidently, what a bitch. Her husband is a POW, and before the war is even over, she marries an american, takes all the gifts said american brings back, her first husband returns, they keep all the stuff which was probably valuable at the time let alone today
I absolutely love Seattle's portrayal of Speirs. He did a fantastic job. He's managed to make him intense and very intimidating but with such a wonderful subtelty. His Speirs is creepy in the best way possible. You feel weirldy unsettled watching him but can't pinpoint why haha

The actor playing Winters is a Brit! For goodness sakes... what a great actor to pull off sounding like an American! I loved this Band of Brothers TV series.
The American accent can be tough. It’s so varied because of how big we are. I’m from the Area that the show Mare Of Easttown was based in (Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Just south of Philadelphia). Kate Winslet said trying to learn the Delco accent was the most frustrating thing she’s had to do in her career 🤣🤣. Most of the cast was British. Hanks wanted to cast an American for Winters. But Damien Lewis nailed the audition. Not for nothing, he could pass for a young Winters. Excellent casting all around for the series.
British people and other English speaking world are very exposed to American media/Hollywood nowadays. So it's way easier for them to do an American accent instead. A lot of Irish and Australian actors in Hollywood too

I have a soft spot for neutral endings, as they genuinely feel much more...rewarding in a way. Like your actions actually do matter in the game, and it gives everything a sense of personality. My favorites are the King Papyrus, (so cool and nice to see Sans supporting his bro!) Empress Undyne (Caused Horror and Axetale) Pissed off Sans and Undyne ending (so badass.)and the few citizens left along with Sans ending. I would like to think that if they were to get out, some of them would go seeking revenge against the human. Maybe even Sans, or perhaps in his case, "Judgement."
