YES! Gaara’s resurrection is my single favorite resurrection in media. It feels earned, and the characters have genuinely been striving to save this person the entire arc. It has literary significance and narrative importance - it’s not just “Oh, well fans like this character, so let’s bring him back so he won’t be dead.” I cried harder at Gaara’s resurrection surrounded by people who love him and fought for him harder than I’ve cried at most deaths in manga. Beautiful and perfect.
All those, but also most importantly it has to do with the moral of the story. If Gaara dies, the lesson is just "the young generation trying to help the fucked up older generation will only get himself killed. Selfishness is better" while the opposite has his strive for peace and humanity, a "new generation of doing things" is rewarded with the love, admiration, and the progress of his village. If he died, it'd be a bad message. It is about passing on the torch to the newer generation, when Lady Chiyo accepts responsibility, that the way they've done things and the wars they've fought have been the reason people like Sasori exist. Sasori is a victim of war, and losing his family. He is traumatized by death, so much that he strives for immortality, not only in himself, but in others, by making them into puppets. Gaara moves past his upbringing, and chooses a new path, and him as Kazekage is a new era for Sand. Gaara coming back is important to the story. It is earned, yes, but most importantly it actually enhances the story.
Regarding Gaara... It's not the fact that Gaara is strong and that he can't believe that someone beat him, that made him react that way to his death... He is extremely upset, because Gaara had finally "overcome" being more than a tail beast host. He had respect, friends, etc. So for Naruto to see that in the end, all that didn't matter since his life was still defined and ended because he was a host is what makes him so angry. It's why he also scolds Granny Chijo. From his perspective Gaara never got to live a normal and happy life. Just when he had becomed kazekage, he dies...
Exactly. Its foreshadowing of Naruto's future and desire. He sees Gaara achieve the dream that he wanted to, and sees him evolve as a person, but is mortified that the older generation has permanently doomed him and his kind to a terrible fate regardless of their choices, their progress, and their humanity. What an offensive reading of the scene to think it's got to do with strength. Which is hilarious, cause its the anthisesis of the entire story. Naruto is deliberately to counteract the shonen stories of strength and power being the means to win. It is deliberately written to where talks, comradery, and empathy will solve the issues. This, the fanbase just memes as "talk no jutsu", blindly ignoring the main point of the story: Strength isn't how hard you punch. Winning does not mean beating up your enemies, but coming to a common understanding.
Yeah, the fact that Granny Chiyo did it was so important. She was the one who sealed the spirit in Garaa in the womb and conscripted him to that life of pain and suffering from birth. She was also a living symbol of the "old ways" so in her sacrifice, it was not only helping to undo that wrong, but also symbolic of the old way giving way to the new that Naruto and Garaa, represented though the metamorphosis he has gone on during the timeskip, were bringing to the shinobi world. She recognized that and did the noble thing.
The Kazekage arc is so underrated. An incredible post-timeskip arc that does not rush to progress the plot but shows the progression of the characters in some thematic storylines..
a lot of people watch the anime and this arc is slow pacing in the anime and don't forget how the studio treated sakura if you don't know they cut a lot of her dielog and moments in the manga just compare the manga and the anime
Only one more video? ONE more? I would have said that you require three - with Hidan/Kakuzu/Orochimaru/Deidera taking one video, Jiraya, Itachi and Killer Bee taking another and then Pain the last one. One is ambitious, Merphy! Highly ambitious! Please take your time with as many as you want. We are here ,latching onto every word.
Man I miss Naruto. I was obsessed with this series when I was younger (pretty much as obsessed as I am now with the Cosmere) and watching you go through it for the first time is bringing back some great memories. Can't believe it's been 10 years since the manga ended.
The story sure ain’t over. The Boruto manga expands and builds on the Naruto manga in exceptional ways. I don’t recommend the anime though, it’s got way too much filler.
@@jacobjensen7704 Yeah, I've read quite a few Boruto chapters back in the day but I don't know... Unfortunately it just hasn't been able to hook me the same way that Naruto did for some reason. Not to mention that I don't particularly like the new art style of the manga which is a big issue for me.
As a teacher I realized this week just how much Kakashi trusts Yamato (which is shown more later) with his students, especially with Naruto. He knows just how vital it is for him to learn to get stronger on his own and be able to control the fox spirit, but even knowing that he can't do that for Naruto, he's glad when Yamato can. And with some students I've had, I've come to love them so much and care about their progress so deeply that even with people I trust, I have to learn to be okay with letting go and not being their next teacher. But it is a good thing they have other people in their lives and Naruto benefits so much from this. Also Gaara (his dad gave him the one tailed beast) was my friend's favorite and when I got to his arc I realized why. I'm glad you also love him. Shikamaru is also a favorite of mine so that and seeing more of a good arc for Sakura made me so happy.
Naruto seems to be one of those series that truly shines when it's not being read week-to-week. Around this point in the story, I was reading it out of pure spite.
A video from my favorite UA-cam literary analyst on my favorite series? Its a good day! Yes Chiyo was stated to be the one who sealed the Shukaku inside Gaara. I think part of why this fakeout death works well is because Chiyo died instead, it was a life for a life. If Gaara had woken up alright on his own at the end, it would have felt cheap. I also love the parallels between Sasori and Orochimaru. Both of them killed the kages of their village. Both used former kages as tools to fight our characters. Both were obsessed with immortality, and both fought a former student who studied their abilities (Kankuro and Anko). Given this, I love that Sakura is the one to take him down, given all the shit Orochimaru has put Sakura through personally
I love Naruto and your videos, keep the good work. I understand that Naruto is usually criticize for been too "Idealistic" or "Naive"(Even the same manga points this out on multiple occasions), but at the end it decides to believe in empathy and to remind everyone that you don't need to know someone to empathize with them and that we all have the power to stop the cycle by been more open minded to other people struggles. I also love the magic system, the battles and the characters, but that just my opinion.
Naruto is idealised, but not every good series has to be realistic. Many shonen are idealized, and many fictional works are idealized. Naruto is good the way it is.
I try to avoid Naruto content because it reminds me of a hard time in my life, but I love to hear Merphy talk about story, especially when she’s enthusiastic about it.
The older I get, the more Granny Chiyo's arc resonates with me. She'd grown cynical and bitter after all the crap that happened to her family. Naruto and Gaara wake her up, and she decides to make a difference one more time, even at the expense of her life.
Gaara never disappoints as a character. His character development has only just started,he has such badass moments in the final arc of the show, you should look forward to it.
If there's one anime ep i hope Merphy watches before the next analysis video is ep 82 from Shippuden. A masterful display of character acting and how the anime can add on the manga.
Not much of a Sakura fan, but her and Granny Chiyo vs Sasori is still one of the best fights of the series. Well worth watching in the anime (skipping over Team Guy's intermissions, unfortunately), same as Gaara's "return". From Granny Chiyo beginning the jutsu, to the final handshake, it's all great.
Most people's reaction to that fight is the complete opposite; That even after a timeskip of training Sakura is so useless she needs a senile old hag to help her in a fist fight.
@@Ryuksgelus I mean, just the War Arc was the *real downside,* and even in that arc we got EPIC moments and GREAT character moments, that's how good Naruto is.
Long time Naruto anime fan here. I wanna thank you Merphy for bringing up fresh perspectives and some great points that I haven't heard before. Looking forward to hear more of your unique takes in the future.
Fox spirit - tailed beasts (jinchuuriki); Naruto has the 9 tailed fox. the other 8 tailed beasts are based different animals/species. Ocular jutsu - sharingan (eyes) I agree when Merphy said the author didn't know how to write female characters. I think the best character Kishimoto created is Tsunade.
I'd honestly throw in Chiyo as far as good female characters, it's rare to see elderly women in shounen, especially elderly women who are combatants and actually strong and get their own character arc, and it's surprising it came from Kishimoto of all people with his pretty poor track record with female characters.
Love hearing your fresh perspective on a series so close to my heart. I still remember how impactful the scene of Sasuke looking down from the cliff was the first time I read/watched it and seeing you react to it made it hit hard all over again
.....That's like saying the only people that can love naruto are emo people even though naruto tackles it's themes of war and loneliness in a fantastic way. I mean, just look at Merphy and her analysis of the series.
It's like a trip through memory lane, Im so happy you're enjoying naruto as it's something i grew up with around 10 years ago. For many reasons this story means a lot to me, Naurto's talk no jutsu and It's Philosophy is what truely made it special. Hope you enjoy the pain...... arc
One of the ways I personally cope with the fake out deaths in mangas is that I try to imagine what it would be like reading weekly. Most manga chapters seem to end on a cliff hanger because it’s the author’s goal to get you to come back for more and if a character’s fate is hanging it the balance at the end of a chapter it makes the reader all the more excited to pick it back up.
As someone who does read weekly I have to disagree. It reads as cheap engagement bait when it does turn out to be a fakeout, which it mostly is depending on the genre. It makes death seem less of a threat and when a death IS permanent I personally feel less affected because I know as a reader that the author is fully capable of making deaths temporary. If it's a series that takes death serious then fakeouts can work but the other way around not so much.
@@OnchiBon I don’t disagree that it is not the best narrative choice but rather a product of the medium in which the story is being told. Releasing a story one chapter at a time creates scenarios and situations in story telling that aren’t factors in other mediums. Since the goal of the author is to get the reader to elect to return week after week the drama in the series can be exaggerated to keep engagement up plus the surrealist nature of the stories let the author decide how much punishment a “person” can handle and what would cause death. Oda had Usopp get hit in the face with a 4 ton bat while being propelled forward in Alabasta so I don’t really assume that any regular attack is kill level in the series, it saves me anguish of from assuming a character died. I also think that death isn’t the end all be all in fiction (especially anime) that it is in real life, since there is the possibility of an after life/ interaction with the dead.
@@KumaDGoat I get that, you're making good points. I guess it depends on the execution and the specific manga. MHA has so many fakeouts that when a character does die it's unclear until it's actually confirmed they're dead. AOT has very few fakeouts but those work because death is always expected and it's always 100% clear that they're actually dead. Minus of course the few fakeouts.
Seeing people talk about how emo the series can be reminds me of the old fan AMVs. Murphy, when you finish the series you need to check those out. They’re sort of like a time capsule into the fan base mindset from that era
In the first arc of Part One, Kakashi lays out that Ninja's are simply tools for war, and in the first arc of part 2 it basically explains that the tailed beasts are weapons of war. It's interesting that Naruto & Gaara basically fit the bill for both. They embody everything wrong with the system; young people being robbed of their youth by being used as tools and weapons for pointless war
Early Shippuden is so good! I still remember watching the episodes as they released on German TV back in the day, coming home from school and turning on the TV. Also, the introduction of my favorite character Yamato, finally xD
if you like yamato you should watch the kakashi anbu days filler arc again. One of the only filler arcs that feel 100% canon and they also give yamato a backstory
@@ShouryaRathore Yes! I like a few Shippuden fillers and despite this arc coming out during a point where the anime was getting intense it was one of the better filler arcs in the series and actually felt very relevant
Not just early shippuden. MOST of Shippuden until the War arc. The Shikimaru and Hidan arc is great, the Itachi pursue arc is great, and the Pain Arc is great.
@@awsomeboy360 Yeah, basically everything until the Pain arc ... after that I dropped off xD I sort of switched over to One Piece later and never finished reading/watching Naruto.
@@Neko123Uchiha The war start doesn't start being bad off the bat. And besides there's the summit arc which is a good arc and does a lot for the series when it comes to world building etc. Naruto meeting his mom, Killer Bee, etc.
I saw this in my recommendations and read like...the first ten comments, and then immediately spiraled into an internal rant about how good the kazekage rescue arc is. Now I might have to reread it again. Thanks a lot Merphy. But seriously, great video :)
@@windhelmguard5295 yall say this at like every arc lmao. the show never wemt downhill, theres amazing moments in every single arc that makes every arc worth it
@@nozers yea there are amazing moments that happen further and further apart as the series goes on and the quality of the stuff between those amazing moments goes more and more down the shitter.
@@windhelmguard5295 I mean like what? Most of the reanimated fights are a bore but that's really it. Other then that there is way more good content than bad in the war arc.
26:50 I agree, Sasuke was like built different, with a stronger menacing aura, Naruto felt helpless once again after the end of part 1 and the Kazekage rescue mission, a very brutal yet incredible moment indeed 😱🥶✨⚡🔥🖤
Imo the big three each have their own reasons for why theyre great. For One Piece, it's the worldbuilding and the backstories that's great. For Naruto, it's the genuine human emotions & character writing that's great. Kishimoto's writing iscall over the place and he's certainly nowhere near as good as Oda. But he is certainly one of the most genuine mangaka out there, and is capable of really putting his genuine thoughts & emotions into his work. I think that's why Naruto can get so impactful. Unlike Oda's character writing, which is great in a traditional sense, Kishimoto's character writing is great in an emotional/genuine sense. His chatacters are impactful in a different way compared to One Piece; where in One Piece its because Oda is a writing genius & so is able to make his characters impactful on a technical level, Kishimoto's characters are impactful because they can get very human and raw and real in the right moments.
The fact u dont think one piece is equally emotional impactful or sometimes even greater than naruto, it means u havent really watched or read one piece
@@priomquraishi1164 ive read and watched both and something about naruto just feels wayyyyyyy more human than one piece personally for me. Something about one piece just feels so kiddish and fantasy like that I cant really connect to the characters or moments at all.
@@priomquraishi1164 thats a great moment but even narutos first ep gave me more emotion then that also the first arc with zabuza. Im really happy for Merph, starting her Journey, into Anime & Manga and has trully brightened up my year knowing she is genuinely enjoying her time. The GE in genjutsu is pronounced like Get, not like Generation. Usually the soft G as in generation is transliterated as a J, while the G is a hard sound (get)
Yes it was Granny Chiyo who put the tailed beast inside of Gaaraaa. The tailed beasts are Weapons owned by nations so they are mostly handled by the nation leaders.
Great vid. Your takes and analysis are really refreshing. Dw about Sasuke being boring, he's plotting. You're so right about the revival of Gaara being handled so well. Im looking forward to future vids on the topic. Sai's arc is one of my favourite's in the show. Love the Sai love
Oh my gosh I’ve been looking forward to this so much since I heard your love of Gaara on the first review! Bout to go make some breakfast and settle in for this one!
I love that we have seen the progression of you falling in love with the series and its characters. that first video you seemed a little on the fence and now you are fully bought in.
“Kabuto” in Japanese means helmet or mask. It’s a reference to Kabuto being a very enigmatic spy. Also speaking of ‘fakeout deaths’ keep your wits about you during Sasuke’s conversations with various characters and you might pick up a few intentional inconsistencies.
Sai is a great character. It´s such a shame he did not get more attention. Plus, seeing an Anbu member destroyed by an upbringing in a supposedly righteous system is one of the most important clues w had at the time about even Konoha not being really righteous.
as one of the Sand Village 'elders', Chiyo was absolutely involved in the decision to put the sand spirit inside Gaara, if not directly playing a role in the ritual. this, I think, is the direct motivation for her line about Correcting and Atoning for past mistakes.
When you get there, there’s one episode that is 99% technically “filler” that is my favorite episode in the series Right during chapter 330-331, watch episode 82. Seriously, never fails to make me a sobbing mess
"Long gone are the days where she was this passive side character" LOL😂😂😂. Don't get used to. Sakura vs Sasori was the culmination of all female character development in Naruto.
Right? Almost like the series already sidelined her and everyone half the time in the og series. Almost like the series is about Naruto and Sasuke. Sheesh what was kishi thinking not wasting his time and health on other characters.
Tsunade had a whole arc to herself in part 1 and she was badass in the war arc.Ino's development in the war arc was good too. Sakura didnt fight much in the war but still was very useful there. The only problem is the middle section of shippuden
@@DarkEclipse23 Great moment she became a skewer. Kurama would have come out to play with or without her there. Kishimoto doesn't know how to write female characters . For him they are just the simpy type that need to stay behind their man both physically and in power level. Think about it . Sakura, Ino, Hinata Karui, Konan they all have the same purpose in the story . Tsunades big moment became a feat for another man and Temari and TemTem have less screen time then their fight. Honestly i don't even understand why wemen are shinobi in Kishimoto's world if he doesn't give them anything to do. A lot of shonen have a big character discrepancy between their male and female characters but Naruto is doing that on another level. Bleach, Fairy Tail, JJK and My Hero are really good to make their female characters always do something and One Piece it's in my opinion the gold standard. Every single One Piece females have their own ambitions, dreams, journey and they are crucial to their respective arks.
I was always of the belief that Sakura should've been trained in the og. Would've loved to see her going after the gang and giving them first aid, then catching up to Naruto and Sakuke and chosing to protect Naruto instead of offering to go with Sasuke.
You're in for a ride in the coming stretch if you're already gushing like this! Naruto really knows how to handle its emotions well, genuinely one of it's greatest strengths
I looked at what's next for volumes 36-48. And WOW. Volumes 40-48 fans get to know pain and consider it PEAK Naruto. There is so much that goes on in the mini arcs here that I don't think one video is enough. Feel free to make 4 videos if you have to.
The Granny Chiyo and Sakura team up is probably the best moment for Sakura in the manga. Sadly, Kishimoto really isn't very good at writing women and a lot of them get sidelined.
None of them really have a focus or importance so It literally doesn’t matter :/ the story is about Naruto and some lesser chunk - Sasuke. Everyone aside from those two are sidelined.
Even Kakashi is sidelined. Anyone that isnt Naruto or Sasuke are sidelined. Sakura was a weak chain. She failed to every bravado she made, and she had ONE job and she let it all happen. She exists because she’s obsessed with Sasuke, and Naruto is semi obsessed with her. In a weekly series Kishimoto barely lived doing what he did.
Gaara is one of my favorite charcters in anime, and I'm a One Piece fanatic. And his resurresction feels so deserved. It surprised me because this is Naruto not One Piece. People die in this series, and they rarely come back. Or they come bavk brokenxand have to fight to get their strength back, like Lee. So, yeah, Gaara is awesome.
1:40 Oh, boy! It's been a while since I have heard about the shipping wars. Merphy doesn't know what went on over the years LOL. 17:00 Also, it is the racoon dog spirit, and Garaa's father, the fourth kazekage, along with Chiyo, put it inside of him.
I'm glad you like Sai, a lot of people find him annoying, but that just made me like him more XD (on top of the more emotional stuff it gets into with him) A lot of people also just kinda forget about him - which is fair because Kishimoto does as well just like he does with most side characters - so it's cool to see someone else also appreciate him so much And Gaara is my favourite too, I highly recommend checking out the dub for some of his most popular lines, the English VA has one of my favourite performances in anime. I'm excited to see your reviews for the future volumes, especially the ones for OP 4 and OP 9
i just recently finished watching the anime for the first time (sans filler lol) so im LOVING these videos and getting to hear your thoughts as someone else who's also new to the series and didn't know much going in. i feel like i kind of got tricked by anime/manga fans obsessed with powerscaling into thinking this wasnt a series with a lot of depth (i initially put it on to have something in the background while i worked on projects because i wanted something really long to watch, and based on that preconception i thought it would just be something mindless to have on lol) and i was so pleasantly surprised at how extremely wrong i was and how much i ended up deeply loving it so im also loving your thoughts on all the themes happening in the story. its such a heartbreaking but beautifully hopeful story and the themes it explores are really touching
The best way to read Naruto is the way you are right now, reading this week to week was a slow burn, the story flows much better when you can just pick it up and read a whole arc at once.
I love how gaara and the sand siblings became that close that they do openly beg afor help and really woulfd do all to get gaara back. Even if kankuri was kinda done dirty, its heartwarmng.
So… who were “Shinto” and “Kona” again? :-D Gaara’s resurrection also works because it lets Granny Chiyo, someone made into part of the system that destroyed her own family’s lives, find some measure of peace; she couldn’t save her grandson but she saved a different young boy, and was inspired by a different boy who helped her see the similarities in the pain…
It's funny how time skips usually are for power ups but here is much more for emotional maturity and stakes at least for Naruto,he is stronger but extra power he cant control villains are targeting him and some people and situations are beyond what he can do Also take your time pls! Next few arcs are also massive and emotional a lot to talk about
I still revisit the Sasori fight regularly because of the impact it had on me after its first watch, maybe a hot take but definitely in my top 7 fights in the entire series.
it's crazy to think that Gaara probably hadn't been touched or held in years because of the sand. and lady Chiyo was probably the only one to touch him with care and it still lead to her death. ouch
24:00 Sakura knows that Naruto was not in control and would NEVER harm a friend and would never forgive him self, while Yamato knows from his brief interactions with Naruto that needs to know and is smart enough too figure it out.
I haven't read Naruto since it was being released. I forgot so much of this. Especially Kakashi going blind this early; going blind with no MS. And the Sakura vs Sasori fight being that early.
You might just want to cover each major arc as it unfolds. This video was a great coverage over two arcs post time skip but perhaps you may want to consider doing smaller videos and cover each arc that way instead. More videos but easier to record and release and you only have to focus on one arc at a time, perhaps making consolidating your thoughts easier?
I get the dislike of fake out deaths, but I think if you have it in your mind with every death scene of "Is this real though?" you probably just need to train your brain to stop jumping to that train of thought in the moment and just have the moment. The problem with reading a lot is tropes we don't like, we run into more often the more we read. And you can either let yourself stay mad at it and try to predict the story the whole way through, or you can simply read it, divorce your mind from every other story you read while reading it, and take in the story as a whole. I've found doing that has lead me to really be able to enjoy more stories even with character types I cannot stand because once they're off the page, they're gone to me and I can just drink up what's going on and what's happening here and now. Sure I think about it in greater detail after stepping back from it, but when I'm really into something, I turn that predictive thinking off and just enjoy what I have before me. I find it often makes even the most obvious "not really dead" moments actually enjoyable because I'm not thinking about the obviousness of it, I'm just letting the story have it's shot at getting me hyped. Of course, it also helps when the story isn't a mess with fake out deaths or overly screaming at you what's going to happen next.
I cannot wait for your commentary on the future arcs. Also, daily reminder that I truly believe you would LOVE Demon Slayer so please keep that name on your radar😶🌫
I actually just read the whole series the past 2 weeks! I’ve always watched it and decided to read it. I cried a few times and too many arcs I just couldn’t put down.
Man, the sharigan used to be so cool. Back when its purpose was to copy any ninjutsu and cast genjutsu. Back when it had defined rules and a defined purpose. Before its purpose was for casting whatever magical ability was needed for the plot, and building chakra-mechs 😕
Only one more video? ONE more? I would have said that you require three - with Hidan/Kakuzu/Orochimaru/Deidera taking one video, Jiraya, Itachi and Killer Bee taking another and then Pain the last one.

There is an anime-only scene with Shikamaru that speaks to your love of a certain style of storytelling- I hope your subs or editor have you watch it!
Your love and passion for naruto in the last videos actually made me finally go back to shippuden! So thank you!
Naruto seems to be one of those series that truly shines when it's not being read week-to-week. Around this point in the story, I was reading it out of pure spite.
Let's take this conversation off this platform..
19:04 - Shino has all the reasons to be mad..first Naruto forgetting his name and now Merphy thinks bro is "Shinto"😭

She's so amazing at this!
I hope you got over those hard times.
The older I get, the more Granny Chiyo's arc resonates with me. She'd grown cynical and bitter after all the crap that happened to her family. Naruto and Gaara wake her up, and she decides to make a difference one more time, even at the expense of her life.
Severely under-appreciated character.
Gaara never disappoints as a character. His character development has only just started,he has such badass moments in the final arc of the show, you should look forward to it.
his speech in the war gave me chills
If there's one anime ep i hope Merphy watches before the next analysis video is ep 82 from Shippuden.
A masterful display of character acting and how the anime can add on the manga.
Naruto PEAK. One of the greatest stretches of all time 🗣️🔥🔥
Ehh
Not much of a Sakura fan, but her and Granny Chiyo vs Sasori is still one of the best fights of the series. Well worth watching in the anime (skipping over Team Guy's intermissions, unfortunately), same as Gaara's "return". From Granny Chiyo beginning the jutsu, to the final handshake, it's all great.
Most people's reaction to that fight is the complete opposite; That even after a timeskip of training Sakura is so useless she needs a senile old hag to help her in a fist fight.
This arc proves that kishimoto can write a female character they just need more screen time that it and the other problem is the anime
Naruto Shippuden really started strong. I love Gaara dearly. His father ordered the demon put in gaara and Granny Chiyo participated.

Fox spirit - tailed beasts (jinchuuriki); Naruto has the 9 tailed fox. the other 8 tailed beasts are based different animals/species.
Ocular jutsu - sharingan (eyes)
I agree when Merphy said the author didn't know how to write female characters.
Agree 100%!!!!!! I hate how poorly Hinata and Sakura are written specifically.
@@WuffskersI agree also you could argue kushina is a pretty good character.
It was a retcon😊
Kishimoto did a great job with the main theme of "cicles of hatred" in the series.

Y tho
Naruto AMVs set to Linkin Park were peak UA-cam, at the time. Literally the coolest things available on the internet.
Don't you're going to kill her with cringe lmao
In the first arc of Part One, Kakashi lays out that Ninja's are simply tools for war, and in the first arc of part 2 it basically explains that the tailed beasts are weapons of war. It's interesting that Naruto & Gaara basically fit the bill for both. They embody everything wrong with the system; young people being robbed of their youth by being used as tools and weapons for pointless war
Early Shippuden is so good! I still remember watching the episodes as they released on German TV back in the day, coming home from school and turning on the TV. Also, the introduction of my favorite character Yamato, finally xD

@@ShouryaRathore Yes! I like a few Shippuden fillers and despite this arc coming out during a point where the anime was getting intense it was one of the better filler arcs in the series and actually felt very relevant

Also screw off. Hinata had one of the biggest moments later on and dont freakin act like Sakura and Hinata didnt get to do shxt later on.

Look at team guy. They only exist in this arc basically.

I'm glad you like Sai, a lot of people find him annoying, but that just made me like him more XD (on top of the more emotional stuff it gets into with him)
A lot of people also just kinda forget about him - which is fair because Kishimoto does as well just like he does with most side characters - so it's cool to see someone else also appreciate him so much

i just recently finished watching the anime for the first time (sans filler lol) so im LOVING these videos and getting to hear your thoughts as someone else who's also new to the series and didn't know much going in. i feel like i kind of got tricked by anime/manga fans obsessed with powerscaling into thinking this wasnt a series with a lot of depth (i initially put it on to have something in the background while i worked on projects because i wanted something really long to watch, and based on that preconception i thought it would just be something mindless to have on lol) and i was so pleasantly surprised at how extremely wrong i was and how much i ended up deeply loving it so im also loving your thoughts on all the themes happening in the story. its such a heartbreaking but beautifully hopeful story and the themes it explores are really touching
Enjoy this feeling you have for Sakura while you can, because she'll never be this good; *this* well written again.😮💨
The best way to read Naruto is the way you are right now, reading this week to week was a slow burn, the story flows much better when you can just pick it up and read a whole arc at once.

I am no one. But I love your understanding of these manga's. Keep doing these videos!!!
So… who were “Shinto” and “Kona” again? :-D
Gaara’s resurrection also works because it lets Granny Chiyo, someone made into part of the system that destroyed her own family’s lives, find some measure of peace; she couldn’t save her grandson but she saved a different young boy, and was inspired by a different boy who helped her see the similarities in the pain…
It's funny how time skips usually are for power ups but here is much more for emotional maturity and stakes at least for Naruto,he is stronger but extra power he cant control villains are targeting him and some people and situations are beyond what he can do
Also take your time pls! Next few arcs are also massive and emotional a lot to talk about

Was waiting for this - was worried you dropped it or postponed reading it 😅
