I think being unpredictable is both the hardest and the greatest setter skill, and safe sets make you so predictable in a bad reception situation, so... no safe sets, unless your outside hitter is ngapeth haha

Great topic in this video. I love the clips for support. One thing I think that could be better though is the difference in mic levels. Joe's mic is much lower than Micah's mic. I think you could level it ahead of time, but if not you could probably balance it after before upload if it wasn't live streamed. Thanks for the great content!

Micah describing how the USA team agreed to run middles in combos with bics was perfect! That was exactly some information I was looking for! Also, the editing at that part was awesome!
This may be a difficult question since you guys are world class athletes and you're playing with world class athletes, but how do you adjust to players who just aren't up to par? If they make mistakes, do you give them a redemption set? 2 redemption sets? Do you give them a break to recover from an error? What kind of mind games do you play with your own hitters to keep their mentality in the game

Anything on setter thoughts or actions after an attacker recycling off the block. Wondering what's easier to make it an aggressive attack after all that commotion??

When you’re setting some of these routes in transition will you lead your middle into a drift route? Or keep it more traditional

how do y'all call the bic or 30 when the middle runs a front 1 or a gap?

The key to a good offense is middle efficiency and availability of attack even if the ball is passed 10 feet off the net.
When the middle pulls or demands the respect of the other middle, that leads to more one on ones with the pin.
A more dynamic middle attacking system is the cutting edge of the indoor volleyball meta. Coaches and players who take the time to understand and practice this will probably be more effective long term.
It’s interesting to see the game evolve because the normal stuff is so so repetitive and boring. I just wish volleyball was more fun to watch as a 3rd person observer like basketball. 😢
